Is there a way to rotate images in iPhoto on the ipad

I take photos with the iPhone or iPad and unless I sync them back to the Mac, there does not seem to be a way to rotate images. This makes having a nice slideshow (for the unlock screen) a problem as a bunch of images are all sideways. I'd like to be able to do simple edits like this in the device and not have to sync back and forth.

You can't in the Photos app itself, though there are third-party apps that allow you e.g. PS Express (though the saved rotated version of the photo will be put in the Saved Photos album).

Nothing has changed. If your camera transfers raw images to the iPad, these are not touched. Copies that work with the iPad's resolution are also created during the transfer. When you sync with your computer the untouched raw images are what get transfered.
But the iPad is a viewinf device, not a transfer device from computer to computer, so if you sync photos from your computer to the iPad, those are provisioned to the iPad's resolution.

You can rotate a screen shot, by opening it, (Preview is the default) un the menu bar Tools click rotate.
If you mean convert if from landscape to portrait, none that I know of.

That is not really what the CCK's USB connector is for and a number of folks report that there are USB memory sticks that are not accessibleto the iPad with the connector. Other folks report that sometimes they overcome that issue by using a self-powered USB hub in the daisy chain; USB stick> USB hub > iPad.
The USB connector is for cameras that can only be connected to computers/iOS devices via a USB cable.

I'm trying to upate my mother in-law iPad2 to ios 5 from the same win. pc that my iPhone 4 is connected. I don't want to transfer her purchase items, photos, ... to my library. Is there a way to update without loosing anything on the iPad?

One way is to get the GoodReader app. It has a built in web browser that allows you to web surf and download pdfs into GoodReader. You can read them in the GoodReader app or open them in other apps that can read pdfs.

I have both an iPad and iPod touch. I use the iPod touch for music, not the iPad, but I do often listen to podcasts on iPad. In iTunes on the iPod Touch I can reorder the menus that show up at the bottom (artists, songs, albums, etc.). Can this be done on the iPad too, and if so, how? Right now my default view is on Playlists and the podcast menu doesn't even show up unless I click on More. I can't figure out how to fix this so Podcasts shows up without extra clicks.

No you cannot reorder the menu in the Music app on the iPad. The way that you see it is the way that it works. You have to access podcasts via the More button.

I accidentally formatted my external drive that contained my iphoto library ( I meant to format a usb flash drive). I just bought a new imac and I haven't used the iPhoto on it, so there is no library on the iMac HD. All my pics were on the external drive. I still have all the photos on the iPad 2 in iPhoto and want to transfer them back top the iMac, but when I connect it, it only recognizes the camera roll photos. I have years worth of family photos.

Order of streaming images in iPhoto on the iPad

I would like to know if there is a way to set the order of the photos in photo stream using iPhoto on my iPad. It seems the default view is to have them go from oldest to newest. With a 1000 photos that is a lot of scrolling and why I would want to see my oldest photos first instead of my most recent - welll that makes no sence. So is there a way for me to adjust for that? Once you understand the iPhone 4's antennas - you can make things work better, maybe even better than any onther phone. However when in low cellular data signal areas and using e-mail or browser app, you normally have the cellular antenna in the palm of your hand cause a drop in signal while typing. If the phone would rotate the mail app 180 degs - then you could hold the phone upside down - allowing the antenna to be (on top) in the clear as you use the mail app. My question is - is the a way or app that would allow you to do this?

I am looking for the same thing for a different reason. I would like to be able to type with the iPhone upsidedown. That way the microphone would be pointed towards the speaker I am taking notes from and I could record at maximum level while typing. Is there a typing app that will work upsidedown? I'm not talking about rotating text, I mean the whole app. Or how about a change in the iOS that would just allow 180 rotation of any app? Is there a place to suggest this to Apple? I couldn't find it recently.

Is there a way to adjust image size? (besides the little slider)

Just wondering if this is an issue with my iphoto or camera. When I add pictures to my iphoto from my camera they appear really tiny. When I make them larger within the window, the pictures become distorted. They also upload on to websites extremely small. I have checked my camera settings and everything seems to be normal there. My friend has a iphoto, and her pictures are not uploading this tiny. Is there a setting that I can change for this?

It would appear that your friend replaced all the Original full sized pics with the thumbnails that iPhoto uses for display.
To start over:
To create and populate a new library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Rolls and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Roll Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

Is there any way to edit an email address in the iPad mail app once it has been highlighted?

To try and clarify the above, when I type an email address in the address field, in the Mail app, and then hit the space bar, the email address becomes highlighted. If I then want to edit the email address I cannot for the life of me work out how to do it without deleting it and typing it out again.

The rapid usage of my cellular data and resulting drain on battery life has been a real issue since iOS6. If I disable cellular data, things improve dramatically. It would sure be nice to know who the culprit is. Any apps to help with this?

Never heard of one - the sandboxed nature of iOS would make it impossible to build an app to do so, since apps are isolated from each other and each others data.
All you can do is the trial and error method.
A couple of iOS features to check though, are
Settings - General - About - Advertising - Limit Ad tracking = ON
Settings - General - About - Diagnostics and Usage - DON'T SEND (checked)
Settings - General - About - Date and Time - Time Zone = OFF (uses location services to check if you've crossed a time zone - unnecessary use of location services if you are not travelling outside of any wifi or cell coverage)
Settings - General - Restrictions - Location Services - System Services - all OFF (these involve transmitting location based data out, ie. from your device).
