Is there a way to "select all" in the mail folders?

I was wondering if there is a "select all" function in the mail folders on the iPad 2 pr iPhone 4s?
I added an email account to my iPad and it is now in the process of downloading 3,500 old messages that were on the server 50 at a time and I have to go through and select each one with the edit option to delete them in batches.

No way to do that yet,

Actually, you can email up to 5 at a time from the Photos app. Select any more and the email share option will not appear.
If you explain why you need to email large numbers of photos, we might be able to offer an alternative.

  • Is there a way of selecting all files within multiple folders?

Let's say I have a folder called 'text books' and within that folder I have 100 more folders named by author.  Inside the folders are .txt files of their work.  Is there any way I can select all the .txt docs and paste them in one big folder?  In other words, is there a way of removing all the sub-folders and putting all the .txt files together in one place?
    regards

Thanks Niel.  Worked a treat!  Took me a short while to figure out how to get it to run in the directory I wanted it to (as the file was also on NAS)  as I have never used AppleSript before.
So, for posterity, and if anyone else is interested in trying to do this, here is my final script:
set pa to "/Volumes/Public/etc - whatever your path is"
set aspa to POSIX file pa
set tpa to "/Volumes/Public/ directory you are moving them to"
set as2pa to POSIX file tpa
    tell application "Finder"
move every file of entire contents of folder aspa to folder as2pa
    end tell

Tap on the edit button at  the top right of the email list. This will let you select the emails to delete, once all are selected, tap on the bottom right button that says delete to delete them all at once.

  • Is there any way to select all mail messages and delete them?

I get lots of mail, and most of it I don't keep, or keep over on my MacBook. Is there a way to select all the Mail messages and delete them, or do I need to go through them one at a time?
    many thanks!

In your inbox in the phone you can mark the mails one by one and then tab delete.
In Trash you can delete all with one tab.

  • HT201320 Is there a way to "select all" to mark a bunch as read?

I just got an iPhone 5S and I can add an email account, but when I do (and this isn't the first time) I have to mark hundreds of messages as read!  Is there an easier way than one at a time?  There wasn't a way when I had my iPhone 3G, and it looks like there still isn't.  Am I wrong?  Is there a way to "select all?"

Oops!  I fiound it!  Sorry for the interruption.

  • Is there a way to select all when deleting photos from iPad?

I am trying to delete about 1000 pictures from my iPad and am trying to find a more efficient way to do so instead of selecting each individual picture.  Is there a way to select all when deleting?

  • Is there a way to deselect all of the music in iTunes at one time?

Is there a way to deselct all of the music in iTunes at one time?  I tried the Select All choice but didn't see anything after that.

    Do you mean uncheck everything?
Command click any checkbox to check/uncheck all.
What's the reason you want to uncheck everything?
If it is to select what to sync, it's easier to create playlists and sync only those playlists.
Then simply add/delete fomr a playlist to remove it from syncing.

The paths won't agree on the two OSs so a simple XML import isn't likely to work.
See Sync iPod/iPad/iPhone with two computers and, if needed, Make a split library portable. The techniques in the first link will work when moving the library between Windows and OS X as long as the library is "portable", but iTunes takes quite some time checking the database when the library is opened under a different OS.

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.
The music sync is one - way - computer to ipod.  The only exception is itunes purchases.

  • Is there a way to only re-install the mail services?

My mail-server has stoped to work. The virus and spam-checking mechanism prevents it from starting up properly. Is there a way to re-install only the mail-system and by that get back the default configurations?

I don't believe there is currently any way to auto-arrange the icons. I've seen plenty of requests for this on various forums, and I hope Apple will add a feature to iTunes where you can order the icons and then sync the ordering/paging to the iPhone.

  • Is there any way to select all italicised text in Pages?

I've got a long document in Pages (about 30 pages so far) and I'm looking for a way to select all the italicised text at once, so that I could change its colour.
Is there any way to do this?
    Cheers

Only if you have used a character style to italicise the words. If you have that you can change one of the word to a chosen colour and all words with that style will get the new colour

  • I have about 300 podcasts in my itunes account.  They are all checked.  I want to uncheck them all and then just check back the ones I want to sync to my Ipod. Is there a way to select all and then uncheck them?

I have about 300 podcasts in my itunes account.  They are all cheked so they sync to my Ipod.  I want to uncheck them all at once and then check just the ones I want to sync.  Is there a way to do a "select all" vs having to uncheck them one at a time?

Plug in your ipod and navigate to it in itunes, then select the 'Podcast' tab from along the top.
The first line where it says 'Automatically include' then two drop down boxes saying 'all unplayed' and 'all episodes' need changing.
Change the drop down box that says 'all episodes' so that it reads 'selected episodes'
You should then be able to go through your collection below and check only the podcasts you want to sync.
You can do this show by show or if you clickt the show itself in this window, on a podcast by podcast basis.
You can use these to drop down boxes to set all kinds of rules for syncing your podcasts, such as
syncing all the latest podcasts, or just all of them or even the last 5 recent podcasts.
I tend to go for 'Automatically include [all unplayed] of [selected episodes]
Then just choose which podcasts I want to listen too,
Hopefully this picture will help you find your way ^_^
