Is there a way to send a large video file through email, not using websites?

Hey guys,
Just wondering if there is an easy way to send a large video file through email, not using websites such as yousendit.com.
If anyone knows please respond, would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

No there isn't. Most all Email providers, whether your ISP or some other provider like Google, Yahoo, Microsoft with their Outlook.com or Office365 and Apple's own iCloud system, have a linit on the max size a email can be. Most are around 10MBs some slightly larger but if the vieo you want to send to someone it larger than that you will have to upload it to a website and then have the people you want to view it download it from that website.

My ipad 2 has locked up when trying to send a large video file. What do I do? Is there a reset button.
    Thank you

Assuming that it's not still trying to send the video, then you could do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Does windows and mac run continuously using parallel, or is there some way to stop xp from running if you are not using it?

I would like to run a few windows programs but I dont want the mac side to suffer when i am not using the windows os.  Is there some way to shutdown the windows part when you are not using?

If you are running MS Windows in Parallels or Fusion or any other virtualization  software  you can shut it down while the machine is operating and still run OS X. There is no trick, you shut down MS Windows just like you would with any other MS Windows machine. That is one of the main advantages of virtualizaiton software, the ability to run both environments simultaneously if you want. If you don't want to run Windows then simply don't start the virtualizaiton software or if it's already running quit it like you do any app on a Mac.

Is there a way to only upload iWeb changes? I am not using MobileMe.

One method you can use, along with optimizing your website for increased loading efficiency in browsers, is to publsh to a folder on your hard drive and use  Web Site Maestro to optimize and upload only the new or modified files with its Smart Handling feature.
If you publish to a folder you can use the synchronizing feature of Cyberduck, help/en/howto/sync – Cyberduck, to upload only those new or changed files.

  • Nokia N8 - Sending large video files via email pro...

Hello, When I try to send a pretty large video file via email on my N8 I get the following error "Memory low. Delete or move some data from C: Phone memory." However my videos are stored on my memory card which has plenty of space so I am confused and not sure what to do
I hope someone can help me on this, any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thank You.

My best guess would be that the N8 temporarily caches the video to C: memory when sending via Email and therefore the file size exceeds the available free memory on C:.
I'm not sure the email server will allow the sending of files larger than a certain limit anyway, so you may be out of luck if you want to send any videos via email.

  • Best way to send a large sound file via e-mail?

    Hello,
I created a sound file in Sound Studio that is 75.5 MB large. I want to e-mail it to a friend through my Hotmail account. (I have a cable connection. I do not have AOL. And I just discovered that I can play it on my computer using QuickTime.)
What is the best way to do this? Do I need to compress it? I have heard of compressing large files to make it easy to e-mail, but I don't know how to do it. If so, will he be able to hear it when he opens up the e-mail on his end?
If anyone could give me step-by-step instructions on how to send this, I'd be most grateful. Thank you.

If you have Stuffit Expander check inside the folder for Drop Stuff.
Drop the movie file onto Drop Stuff.
This will compress the music file.
    Or
You can send large music files through You Send It which is FREE!
There are others but, You Send It is the easiest.
    Or
Since you have a High-speed connection, the easiest & fastest way is through AIM (AOL Instant Messenger). You do not need to be a member of AOL.
I send all my music & movie files this way instead of using email.
iChat has the same ability of transferring large files as AIM.

Is there a way to send multiple PDF documents from iBooks in one email?  I have several that need to be sent to one person and can't figure out how to send more than one at a time. If you can't, is there a workaround?

Warehouse that PDF on your own server, then link to it from your book.

  • Is there any way to send a short video by mail?

I am trying to make an interactive PDF with 3 short videos and sound as a Halloween card. It is too large to go through email and when I try to read it on an ipad with Adobe Reader, the videos do not play. What would be the best way to send something like this. I also have text with the videos.

Export the files to the desktop and then attach them to your email.
However, Email is not a good way to share video. Even short videos can require very large files and this can cause all sorts of issues for the person at the other end. Best to upload the video to someplace like YouTube or a file service like YouSendit and then send them a link.

  • How can I send a large video file from my iPhone 4?

How can I send (by text) a (fairly) large video file from my iPhone 4 without it getting compressed first?
If that's not possible is there a way to uncompress the video file one it is received onto the receiving iPhone?
Or is there a way to sync or transfer a video file from iPhone to iPhone?

ExFAT would be the best file system format, as it will handle files greater than 4GB.
If exFAT is not available, go for FAT32.
Just FAT is too limiting, so avoid that

  • How do I send a large movie file via email?

Hi - I've been reading through the manuals about how to stream movies to be accessible to friends.
Is there a way that I can post a short movie that I've created so that a friend overseas can have it stream onto her computer. I have created a number of versions using Quicktime Pro with the last using quicktime to save as a self-contained movie and an exported file using Movie to Hinter movie settings. I now have a quicktime movie of dimensions 960x540 and 168.6 MB. Is there any way that I can send this somehow to a friend's email address?

Here's one way to make it available online. This assumes however you have ftp access to a server and web site and your friend has a Mac with Safari.
1: Create a page with the Quicktime movie linked and upload the page and movie file to your server.
The web page address might look like this: http://www.websitename.com/moviename.mov
2: Email your friend with a link to the page.
3: If the receiver has Safari, they should click on the link to launch the web page, then go to the Menu bar > Window > Activity.
4: In the Activity window, a link will appear with the movie file.
5: Select that link, copy it, open the Downloads window, paste the link into the Downloads Window.
The file will download to your friend's computer. All this however does assume your friend has the luxury of being on a Mac.
Tip: Export the file using Quicktime Pro's settings for Web first to make the video's file size smaller.
    Christo.

  • Is there a way to find out ALL the files an FCP project uses?

Okay. Firstly, I'm an idiot. I don't know why, but at the START of the project, I didn't think I'd end up with so many little tiny bits and pieces... so I didn't really plan the organization of this thing. (My next project will be meticulously organized, I can assure you.)
But, here I am, and here's my problem.
I've got a pretty big project I've been working on for six months that's probably taking up 250 GB of space on my computer (spread over two 350 GB hard drives). It includes 125 GB of source footage, hundreds of little Motion projects (including various "drafts" of each one), PSD images, LiveType files, an assortment of Soundtrack Pro files, AIFFs, exported clips from all the various cuts of the project, etc etc etc. Stupidly, I always saved things in different folders, using a system and thought process that "seemed like a good idea at the time".
Problem is, now that I'm (nearly) finished with the thing, I need to archive the "final cut", and all it's many source files (such as Motion projects, which may need to be edited later if this project gets sold into foreign markets, etc).
Suddenly, I realize how important Organizational Skills really are.
But is there a way (simple or not-so-simple) to find out EVERY SINGLE FILE that's referenced on a timeline? (I have lots of stuff imported into the project that I know isn't used on any timeline, but I'm afraid of moving or deleting things for fear of never finding it again.)
I'd love to get some sort of "printout" (a list or something) of every single file.
The idea is, I would then move ONLY those files to a newly-organized filing system, which could be easily archived/backed-up. It would also be great to keep the RENDER files, too, so that I won't have to re-render everything when I pull it out of cold storage.
Am I dreaming an impossible dream?
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

But is there a way (simple or not-so-simple) to find

I'd love to get some sort of "printout" (a list or
    something) of every single file.
There is, go to browser and cntrl click on any one of the columns,
and select - show/source. A new column named "source" will pop up and will show where everything "lives". Click on the header at the top and it will justify the column as well. You'll notice this won't show anything for your seq.'s. of course, but will show stills/audio/motion files...
Once you have the new column, you can drag it next to the "name" column and get a grab of it and print it if you like, or whatever.
If you want to do this for just 1 seq., then can create a new bin and double click it to open it. Cntrl-A (select all) in your main seq. and just drag all into the new bin. You will see only what's in that seq. with the "source" column right next to it.
From what I've read, you seem to get the MM thing and it's obviously what you'll need to do to archive as the guys said. But what your missing is a file path system to where everything resides.
Hope this helps and that I've read you properly,
    Peace

InDesign CS4 can open .indd, .indt  and .inx files from earlier versions, but not from later. It should, however, be able to open .idml files saved or exported from newer versions, with the understanding that unsupported features will be lost, text will probably reflow due to differences in texts engines between versions, and that the greater the gap between versions the more likely there are to be noticeable differences from the original. You will need to be sure CS4 is at version 7.0.6 to read the .idml.

  • Downloading Large PPT file from Email - not working

I emailed to myself a large 12 MB PPT file and in my email touched this assuming it would open and allow me to use iWork to open the file. I do have iWork Keynote on my iPad. However, it does not open. I touch the file and the hourglass keeps thinking and says it's downloaded 0 of 12.5 MB. It sits like that for ages.
I've had no problem with other Excel and PDF files, only larger PowerPoint files. I was able to open a smaller PPT no problem.
    Any thoughts?
    Richard

If you're trying to import that file into Keynote on your iPad, you won't get it there by emailing it to yourself, regardless of size. You have to do the following.
    1) Connect your iPad to your laptop.
    2) Once iTunes is open, click on your iPad under Device in the left column.
    3) Click on the Apps tab on top.
    4) Scroll down to the File Sharing section.
    5) Click on Keynote.
    6) Click on the Add button.
    7) Browse to the location of the PPT file on your laptop, select it.
    8) Now you have your file ready to import in iTunes.
    9) Click on the Info tab on top.
    10) Click on Sync below. Once it finishes, you'll have your PPT file in Keynote on your laptop.
    11) On your iPad, click on Keynote.
    12) Click on the little folder icon at top right corner.
    13) Click on the PPT file in the list that opens. There you go.
