Is there a way to shut off Live Shapes

Just got the new version of Illustrator and can't figure out (or if there is a way) to shut off the Live Shape feature so the Transform window won't come up every time I draw a shape
Thank you

Thanks Larry. It was so annoying! It's there indeed. I un-ticked the Show on Rectangle Creation.

  • Is there a way to shut off the cellular radio ?

Is there a way to shut off the cellular radio ?
I can go to “settings” and switch off cellular data.  However I still see the signal strength meter and my iPhone will ring if called.
I thought there was a way to shut off the cellular radio in an iPhone and keep the Wi-Fi turned on.

When you turn Airplane mode on, it does turn all the radios off. You can, however, turn the WiFi and bluetooth back on.
    Enjoy.

  • Ios7 - is there a way to shut off or clear the new photo stream activity?

Ios7 - is there a way to shut off or clear the new photo stream activity?  I am not asking how to shut off photo streams, just would like to clear or shut off the new 'social' activity portion of photo stream

Thank you, but that is not it, and I am talking about the iCloud photo streams.  I know how to modify who can see or post to a shared stream, that's extremely easy.
What is an issue is the new 'social' style activity that summarizes all of the shared streams.  It now posts/summarizes them in an activity thread in 'streams', called "Activity"
I would like to shut that off or be able to clear that view.  While I enjoy the occasionally funny pics I receive from old college friends in shared streams, I don't want that to show up in a 'cover photo' when I go to pull up pics in front of someone.

  • When I am talking on the phone, is there a way to shut off the screen so my face does not press buttons?  I am using an Iphone 4.

When I am talking on the phone, is there a way to shut down the screen so that my face does not touch the buttons?

It is supposed to shut off on its own. Some users have reported cases or screen covers that have interfered with the proper functioning of the proximity sensor. If you've removed those and cleaned the screen and still have the same problem you may have a defective proximity sensor. You may find more information by doing an internet search for "iphone proximity sensor."

    Hi pamela laroe,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
The article below may be able to help you with your question.
You can click on the link to see more details and screen shots.
I've highlighted the pertinent information for you below.
iOS: About the Cellular Data setting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4203
Cellular data is used for data communication in cellular networks. It does not affect your ability to make or receive phone calls or to use Wi-Fi networks for Internet connectivity. If you turn off cellular data, you will be unable to:
See the cellular data icons in the status bar (for example, LTE or 3G).
Send or receive MMS messages. However, you can still send and receive SMS and iMessages if you're connected to a Wi-Fi network.
Retrieve or listen to new Visual Voicemail messages. To retrieve these messages, enable Cellular Data.
    Use Personal Hotspot.
You can adjust this setting by going to:iPhone: Settings > Cellular
    Additional Information
You can also enable or disable cellular data for certain iOS features and applications from this setting:
I hope this information helps ....
    Have a great day!

  • Is there a way to shut off the screen of an imac, while leaving a power point running?

I have a slide show set to run on a connected monitor, but don't want to leave the screen of the mac on while it is running. I've tried **** control eject with no luck. On my pc I was able to just turn the screen off and it would still show, but there is no button like that on the imac since it is all in one. is there a way around this?

You cant switch off the power to the monitor but you can send it to sleep.
1 - Apple > System preferences > energy saver: set the monitor to sleep at the shortest duration
2 - While the second display is connected and powered on,  System Preferences > Displays > Arrangement:  deselect the Mirror Displays option
While the presentation plays on the secondary display, the Mac display will go to sleep as there is nothing on the screen during play, entering display sleep within seconds.

  • Is there a way to shut off the "Show All" in a panelCollection?

    JDev 11.1.1.4.0
Hi, I am looking for a way to turn off the "Show All" option in the View/Columns menu. Even though you can hide columns from this menu using featuresOff="columnsMenuItem:col1,col20" if a user selects the "Show All" option, it will show the columns you're trying to hide from their their view (programatically controlled). I don't want to remove the whole View menu, because it has options I need to give the user. I've read the Oracle doc on af:panelCollection, but it does not reference the "Show All" in the featuresOff section.
    Thanks,
    Troy

    Hi,
no there is no option. However, I see this as a bug - not a feature - and filed it

  • Is there a way to shut off the start-up sound?

how do I turn off the start-up sound that plays when I turn on my macbook?

Try downloading Psst from www.macupdate.com. There is also another, called something like startupchime.prefpane or something like that. Look around macupdate using words like chime and startup chime, and you'll find a way.

  • Is there a way to shut off 3g network and still have the WiFi working?

My Dads going overseas and wants to use his Wifi but dosen't want to be charged using the 3G network.

Because Airplane Mode turns off ALL iPhone radios...ALL. That way, there is no way to accidentally use cellular data. We get posts from users all the time that fail to use Airplane Mode & come home to bills from their carriers in the thousands. Do not rely on that data roaming switch.

  • Is there a way to shut off part of my macbook pro screen?

When I am only listening to music or doing a small task the large screen seems sort of unnecessary. I can dim the entire screen with the brightness adjustment. But I wonder if there is a way to minimize the screen to only take up a portion of the monitor.

In Snow Leopard there is a System Preference option called Expose & Spaces that allowed one to divide the display into four to 16 quadrants/spaces.  In principle this come close to what you are suggesting.  This has been abandoned in Lion.
I suspect that to write the application that you have conceived of, would probably have to tap into the OS and I don't think that Apple would countenance that.
Here are images from Expose & Spaces:
I personally never found much use for this application.
    Ciao.

  • Is there a way to shut off sharing your notes in iCal events?

Hey there, long time lurker, first time poster, haha.
I have dates/events on iCal a specific shared calendar I'm using, and it's my understanding that previously iCloud didn't share the notes you had made for that event - only date, time, location, etc. I liked that the notes were private, I had some info I didn't want to share with the other members of that calendar group attached to those events in my iCal. I don't see any options for customing what is shared and what's not on iCal. Any insight in to that would be helpful, thanks!

I don't believe you have any control over what is shared, only whether to share it publicly or privately, and who to invite. (At least I've never seen any documentation indicating that do.)

  • Is there any way to shut off roaming but still use wifi?

I am going on vacation to the States this week and I would still like to use my iPhone without getting charged lots for roaming. I'm only going to be using my phone for games and music, not calling or texting. I'd also like to check my emails every now and then, so is it possible to hook up to wifi, but not get charged for roaming?

WiFi has nothing to do with cell service - voice or data.  There are no roaming charges.
To disable cell voice/data completely and enable WiFi:
    1. Settings > Airplane Mode > ON
    2. Settings > WiFi > ON

  • Is there a way to shut off headers and footers when printing to a pdf file?

Files designed to exactly fill a page become too large when headers and footers are added and spill over onto two pages. I can't find a way to change these settings. I am working on an Apple with OS 10.4.11

There is a switch at the left side of the iphone. Try flicking that. It should mute all sounds.

  • I was wondering if there is a way to shut off the install mode on my G3 every time I plug in the USB to my Mac. I have an android manager software Mobile Go that this seems to be preventing it from connecting

I was wondering if there is a way to shut off the install mode on my G3 every time I plug in the USB to my Mac. I have an android manager software Mobile Go that this seems to be preventing it from connecting

as62467 We appreciate your G3 question! Let's see how we can help. What you are able to adjust is the USB connection mode by going to the home screen and selecting'recent apps' (in the touch keys bar), settings, storage, the menu (the 3 tiny dots) and tap usb pc connection. If you do not want the software to try and install choose either the internet connection or camera option. Let us know if this helps.

  • I am using a Hughes Satellite and I am having a problem with using all my bandwidth without even using my computer.  Is there a way to shut things off that I don't need running all the time in the background.

I am using Hughes satellie for my internet provider.  I am having a problem using all my bandwidth each day.  Is there a way from using this bandwidth.  I am using even when I am not using my computer.  Is there a way to turn off things that are running in the background.

It depends a lot on what you have installed and what apps you run. Here's a suggestion:  Get Little Snitch and see what processes are accessing your internet connection.
