Is there a way to switch from using my current CS5 software on windows to mac without re-purchasing?
I currently own Photoshop CS5 for windows. Is it possible to deactivate it on my pc and install it on my new mac without having to re-purchase the software? Thanks in advance.

I've begun to notice that not all apps support case-sensitive partitions. I know that repartitioning or reformatting will just wipe everything and conversions don't usually work because of naming overlaps. But I had an idea. What if I created a second, case-insensitive partition? You see I have 100GB free. So if I create a 100GB partition, move 100GBs over, resize the partition into the new free space and repeat. Soon I would have all my files moved onto a new case-insensitive partition, and I could delete the old one and completely take it's place.
The only problem I see is the OS. I know the files won't mind the move, but the OS I'm sure is a problem. Maybe I could make the 2nd partition, install mac on it, and then move my other files over bit by bit, resizing the partition as I go. Is there a way to import my prefs and settings from an adjoining partition?
I just want to know what the problems with my idea might be. Is it risky? Am I a mad man?Yes. Just select the volume in Disk Utility and select erase. Case-sensitivy is selectable. However, I've never understood the PC case-sensitivity usage and would never recommend it. Finally, AFAIK, the OS handles either.

Is there a way to switch from the QWERTY keyboard to the numerical "10-key"?
I am using my iPad 2 more frequently for my work, and it would be very useful if I could switch the keyboard from the standard QWERTY to the numeric "10-key" orientation for data entry. Is there an existing feature that can do this? I would love it to be a feature of the OS, not a specific app.

I've got a document , some 70 pages long that was made back in the late '80's with Pagemaker on an SEII mac. The docs are on 2 floppies, but I can't open them, because I can't find any application that can read the files. I've got other documents that go back to 1984, when I bought my first Mac, that I can't open, either. I'd like to be able to get these files into Pages and send them out to family once again. Any recommendations?
Thanks.No other application can open PageMaker files, only PageMaker. You'd need a copy of PageMaker (and license) and a Mac of ancient vintage, one with a floppy drive. The ancient Mac is needed not just to read the floppied but to run PageMaker which won't run on modern Macs.
Frankly, if you have a paper copy, scan it and start from that! -
Is there a way to switch between workspaces in Spaces from the comnand line? I use several workspaces from Spaces, each workspace having a certain number of fixed applications running. Rather than set all this up each time I log on, I'd like to write a script from the command line (I use gawk) to automate this. Currently I have a gawk script that, given a directory, opens a few xterms whose working directory is the given directory, and opens "preview" applied to a certain file in that directory. However, at present I have to manually move an xterm through each workspace and run my gawk script in each workspace (applied to each directory that I'm working on).
There must be a better way...Addendum: Can this be done via: open -a Spaces --args xxx , where xxx is some set of arguments (or something like this)?

Is there a way to switch back to the old color scheme for the keypad? After upgrading to ios 6, the keypad switched to a black-on-white color scheme. I have a severe visual impairment and found the previous white-on-black color scheme much easier to see and use.
The inverted colors option doesn’t make things look all that better. My dad, who does not have any serious vision problems, has put off upgrading his iphone because of the color scheme changes.I have exactly the same concern. It seems it would be a simple fix for Apple to allow users to turn off the camera (and even the mic) while keeping FaceTime open -- especially now that it turns out FaceTime must remain open in order to send and receive iPhone calls on a Mac.
I like to think this new functionality of FaceTime will be baked into a future release of Yosemite, as the current setup has that not-quite-finished feel of a work in progress. In the meantime, there's nothing like a little piece of Post-It stuck over the camera to keep the NSA from watching your face as you type a post to the Apple Support Communities. -

First, you can install Microsoft's Security Essentials in the Win 7 VM and keep it up-to-date. Second, you can turn off Sharing in Fusion's System Settings to keep the VM environment separate from your Mac. I just switched to Iphone 5c from Blackberry...is there a way to jump from the 1st email listed to the bottom of the list (sometimes 300-400) without scrolling manually thru them all? Also is there a way to organize them by sender?
Well, I think I know why the rules are not working. The alias mailbox is being listed as another mail folder and not as an actual inbox so the rules are not being applied. While I wish the rules would work, I will continue to manually mark some of the emails as spam.
As for the second issue with emails vanishing, I am waiting to see if it happens again. I think it must happen when it is syncing the data but I am not sure that it happens all the time. Today the previous emails seem to be their and it grabbed the new email so I don't know what happened with the vanishing email. Anyway this can be closed since I believe the main issue has been solved as being a setup issue with Yahoo alias email account. -
Isd there a way to have mail use more than one address per person from the address book?
Have a group in address book and some of the records have more than one email address. Is there a way to have mail use both addresses or do I need to have an individual record for each email I want to send to?

You used the data. Verizon can not see what it was sued for. However your phone can see whats apps used the data. go to settings-data usage- there will be a place that says data usage cycle. line the dates up with your cycle. then there will be a bar graph below that extend bother white bars one all the way to the left and one all the way to the right. after those are extended below that will be a list of apps, there should be one that used over 2 gb and that will show you what app used that data in her purse

Is there any way to stream FROM my Apple TV TO my iPad? I know I can stream from the pad to the TV, but I haven't seen anything that lets me do it vice-versa. I want to stream while my computer is off/asleep. I don't want to keep my computer awake all the time simply to be prepared for the random moment when I want to watch a movie but I'm not in a position to go turn on my computer and turn on iTunes. If my Apple TV could stream the movies and music, that would suit my needs, but it looks like that feature isn't available. Does anyone know how to work around it using either Apple or 3rd-party software/hardware?
You can use Apples Remote app to stream any macs iTunes library to ATV1 but only second gen ATV,s are capable of streaming direct from iOS devices.

from the Actions on the left, drag Filter Finder Items over to the column on the right
Where it says Any Content, select Kind

Drag Move Finder Items over to the rightfor To: select other, and navigate to your user folder > Music > iTunes > iTunes Media > Automatically Add to iTunes
