I would like to sync my I pad calendar with my galaxy mobile phone, so that I can view my I pad calendar on my galaxy phone?
If you're just keeping a calendar on the iPad without syncing it to anything, then it can't be shared with anything else. You need to sync your iPad to your computer using something like Outlook, and sync your phone to the same application -- or use an online calendar associated with an e-mail account (but not iCloud since the Galaxy can't link to that).
Since you have a Galaxy I presume you have a GMail account? Use GMail for your calendar, then your iPad and Galaxy can both sync their calendars to GMail (and thus to each other).

You would need to have enabled iCloud on your MBP. Your question indicated you did not.
Its serial number is useful for establishing ownership should the MBP be recovered. File a police report. -

If you already have an iCloud account set up on your iPhone, just go to Settings>iCloud on your iPad and sign in with your iCloud ID, then turn on the data you want to sync. If you turn on photo stream in Settings>iCloud>Photo Stream on both your phone and your iPad, photo stream will automatically stream photos taken on your iPhone to your iPad (and vice versa). This happens after taking the photo, when the camera app is closed, you are connected to wifi, and your device has at least 20% battery life remaining.

You can sync the saves between devices by using the Apple sharing through iTunes to copy save games (and other items) on and off from a device.
- Connect your iPod/iPad/iPhone to your computer
- Open iTunes, then select the device in the panel at the left
- Select 'Apps' then at the bottom you should notice an area called 'File Sharing'
- Select 'FM 2012' or 'FM 2011' (depending on which game you have) from the apps listed and you'll see a handful of files in the panel on the rightAny ".dat" files are saved games and you'll have up to 5 of them. "hidden.dat" is the autosave file, while "fm_save1.dat" through to "fm_save4.dat" are manually saved files named according to their position in the save slots.

Is there any way to Sync contacts from Outlook for Mac to iPhone 5? Apple support says that only iTune can only sync contacts from "Contact" which is the default contact of Mac. If one is running Outllok on a Mac machine then it is not possible to sync the contacts with iPhone. It is strange that Apple distributors are promoting and offering machines with promise that Windows users can now run MS Office on Mac machines without any problem. While this is true, it is so strange that one cannot sync the contacts from MacBook Pro to iPhone5. If someone has found a way to sync contacts from Outlook to iPhone 5 please help as it is very frustrating to not be able to sync the contacts. Thanks, Amit.

Is there a way to sync jujst selected files to an ipad or iphone from an itunes program that is not the one that is primarily used for that specific remote device?
I sync my ipad to my desk top but also have a laptop that has some files that I want on my ipad but don't want to erase everything to get them on.Not really. iOS devices were designed to sync to one iTunes account, not multiple accounts. Simply email what you want to your Desk Top and transfre them to your iTunes library on that computer. Or get a Dropbox account. You can download Dropbox on your iPad and have dropbox on your Desk Top and Laptop. You could access files, music, pictures, etc., you put in your Dropbox account from any device. You get 2GB free storage, but you can purchase additional storage if you need it.

I've been reading some of the other threads about this issue, but most, if not all, suggest using iCloud. I'm wary of setting up an iCloud account because I've heard that "once your information is 'in the cloud' it can't be deleted", and I just don't know how true that is.
Is there a way to sync the two apps by some other means that bypasses "the cloud"?I think that cloud privacy concerns are overdone - especially with Apple who don't have a vested interest in snooping through your data like Google does!
Do you use email? It's stored in the cloud on the providers servers - no matter who the provider is.
Do you use SMS on a phone? They're stored on a server somewhere!
Do you use the internet? The logs are stored at your ISP for some period of time - tracking everywhere you've been.
Thats why I am comfortable to use iCloud for most of my documents. If I want to transfer files very securely, I put them in an encrypted disk image on Dropbox.

If I'm reading a book on the iPhone and I want to pick up where I left off on my iPad, do I have to search for what page I was on on the iPad or is there a way to sync it? Or do I just have to search for a string of text from my iPhone on my iPad?
On both devices go to Settings>iBooks>Sync Bookmarks>On. Then when you want to quit reading on one device, tap the bookmark in the upper right corner and it will turn red. That marks your place. Close the book on the device now by tapping on the Library button in the upper left corner of the app. That will put the closed book back on the shelf. Tap the home button.
On the other device, when you tap on the book, it should open to that page. You have to be connected to WiFi in order for this to work. You can read this older discussion for more information. I was involved in that as well.

If the phone doesn't power on and isn't seen by the computer then you wouldn't be able to pull data off it with the USB connection to your computer.
You could pursue data recovery if the notes are very valuable, but the cost can be similar to having data recovered from a failed computer drive(possibly prohibitively expensive). -
Is there a way to sync the FF settings and keep them on a thumb drive for temporary use? I know you can try to copy the "default" folder in .mozilla, but that usually ends up a mess. The home computer runs on Linux, don't know what the borrowed one will be.

Firefox Sync works thru a server, either Mozilla's sync server or a local sync server the user has running on their own LAN. There's no way to sync the data to a thumb drive unless it has a version of Firefox on that thumb drive.
You didn't mention which "settings" are involved, but you can export your Firefox bookmarks in HTML format to a thumb drive, and view that bookmarks.html file on any web browser on just about any operating system.

For your other personal data in Firefox, there is no real solution outside of using Firefox. -
