Is there a way to teach iPad to spell something correctly?

My wife's uncle has an iPad Air running iOS 8.  In Reminders, he would like the dictation to spell the word 'Lourdes Hospital' rather than 'Lords hospital'.  Is there a way to make this happen?  If there is, is there a way to make iPad (in Reminders) remember this spelling for future dictation?
Thanks,
Chuck

With iOS 5 later this year there will be some basic editing in the Photos app - from http://www.apple.com/ios/ios5/features.html#photos :
Crop, rotate, enhance, and remove red-eye without leaving the Photos app. Even organize your photos in albums — right on your device.
Otherwise there are number of apps available in the store e.g. Adobe Photoshop Express http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/adobe-photoshop-express/id331975235?mt=8 which is free (though you can mak in-app purchases)

Is there any way on an iPad Air to see your dictation as you speak

You can use the built in Siri voice functions in many text apps, (Notability is good) to have it type as you speak, also Dragon Dictation is available in app store and uses its own method rather than Siri.

  • Is there any way for my ipad to piggyback the internet from my iphone when i am not in a wifi area... The guy at the ATT

Is there any way for my ipad to piggyback the internet from my iphone without having to purchase a "plan" from ATT&T....The guy at the store said that I had to purchase a new plan with "so much" GB per month and loose my unlimited amount that I am grandfathered into with my current plan... any thoughts?

Unfortuneatly, you would have to give up your unlimited plan. In the US you would have to get the 2GB plan for $25 and add the teathering plan for $20 more.  The teathering plan would give you another 2GB of data for a total 4GB.

  • Is there a way to upgrade IPad 1 to iOS 6?

My iPad 1 running on iOS 5.1.1. My applications are frequently crashing. Is there a way to upgrade IPad 1 to iOS 6?

None of us are going to argue with you, but hardware changes, and more rapidly these days. The original iPhone doesn't run very much at all, and of course it can't even run 3G. But some people are happy with it. Non-Intel Macs can't run the latest OSX.
Apple needs to be competitive by making the fastest and most modern tablet it can, and that means within 3 or so years what I have now could be antiquated. That also means Apple has to make a decision about whether to try to force the operating system to continue to be backwards compatible which may have speed issues, for example, for those who have current hardware.
iOS 5.1.1 is very advanced. It's only really missing a few things from iOS 6.1, some of which a LOT of people don't like. Maps is one. The loss of Google Maps is another.
There is nothing you can do. Most Apps don't let you update if it is incompatible with your current iOS, so you should be all right.

  • Is there any way to get ipad 2 mirroring (beta ios 5) to work with unicast?  The school won't enable multicast for traffic concerns on a many AP wireless network.

I have the iPad 2 mirroring working in my classroom with my own personal wireless router and an apple tv 2.  We would like to deploy several iPad 2's to teachers for instruction, all using mirroring.  The school district wireless network available throughout the complex has many access points and has multicasting turned off.  They are afraid to enable it because of traffic concerns - many wireless devices all sending everything to every AP on the district wireless network.  Is there any way to come up with an acceptable solution (unicasting?) that will only route traffic to the devices connected to a single access point on the network (the same one the ipad 2 and apple tv are connected to) without sending it to all the access points on the district wireless network?  Short of every teacher having an independent wireless router in each of their rooms (which could still potentially interfere with the district wireless), I don't currently have a solution.   I've heard the network guys through around terms like multicasting, unicasting, igmp, etc.  I don't want to choke down the district wireless either, but there must be a solution to this.  I could easily see 40 teachers in the complex all using iPad 2s mirroring through apple tvs attached to projectors all going on at the same time, but there might only be 3 or 4 on each access point.

  • Is there a way to allow Ipad with wi-fi to use a celluar plan?

I would like to know if I there is any way that my Ipad with wi-fi access can be changed or accessorized to accommodate a cellular plan? Or to be able to use it without wi-fi

If your phone is capable of tethering you can use your phone to make a hotspot for the iPad to connect to. Or you can look into a device like a Mifi, which is a portable wifi hotspot that uses cellular. you make the hotspot with the mifi then connect your iPad to that.
as to using it without wifi, you can do a lot of stuff without wifi. You just have to look at the apps you get and make sure they're not cloud or internet based

  • HT4060 Is there a way to charge iPad when in the car?

Is there a way to charge an iPad when in the car?

Buy a car charger for the iPad (not for iPhone, make sure it is a 10W one)
Another way is to get a power inverter that turns your power point into a plug in and then use the iPad's regular charger

  • Is there a way to view ipad cookie content?

testing cookies presented on an iPad and was curious if there is a way to view the cookie content. I saw a note re: safari 5.1 and developer access, etc. but believe that was more of a mac solution. Is such available for the ipad? Any version.
    Thank you,

I did learn later that if you have access to Fiddler, there are ways to observe content using that tool.
    Thank you.

  • Is there a way to display iPad Mini on TV using Lightning Adapter?

I can do it with my old iPad but the Mini is reporting that it doesn't recognize the Lightning adapter. I have the HDMI cable plugged into the TV, the other end of the HDMI cable is plugged into an Apple HDMI to 30-pin adapter, and then I have a 30-pin to Lightning adapter connected which is plugged into the iPad mini. With this configuration I am not getting any transfer of picture from the Mini to the TV - the Mini is even reporting that it doesn't recognize the adapter (have tried the adapter in an iPhone 5 with the same result). Plug an old iPhone 4 into the 30-pin adapter and get picture on the TV.
Is there something in the Settings that needs to be configured?
Any help would be most appreciated.

That will not work. You need to get this: http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD826ZM/A/lightning-digital-av-adapter?fnode=3 a

  • Is there a way to confirm iPad Notes are backed up after a sync?

I'm skeptical that everything on my iPad is backed up to my new MacBook Air because I have been getting that stupid common error message ever since I first connected the two, about iPad being synced to another iTunes library already and if I want to erase iPad and replace with current iTunes. I did have it synced to a Windows laptop before which no longer works.
I did a "Find" search on MacBook for "iPad" and "Notes" but nothing coming up. I thought for sure there was a folder I found on my old laptop that showed names of things backed up from iPad, maybe not though. I have v4.3.3 on iPad and want to get 4.3.5 but not until I know it's is all backed up, I have a lot of info in Notes that I don't want to lose.
I did get apps and photos to transfer over to the new MacBook in two separate syncs by themselves, then was able to do what appeared to be a complete sync. The weird thing is it goes through motions of syncing and appears everything was backed up, and that summary of everything (except Notes specifically) appears in Macbook iTunes when the iPad is plugged in. But, I still get that same error message every time I plug the two together, so it's confusing.
    Thanks

I'm not sure that the content of a backup is readable - I did try looking for a word that I know is in one of my notes yesterday and couldn't find it in the backup folder even though Notes should be backed up (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4079). The location of the backup is :
    Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
    Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
    Windows Vista: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
None of my notes have been lost on any updates that I've done on my iPad, but if there are any that you definitely can't lose then you should probably copy/email them to yourself just to be on the safe side.

  • I just set up my ipod and lost all my calendars.  Is there a way to prevent Ipad from doing that/

I just set up my IPad and lost all my calendars on all devices, including Outlook.  How did that happen and how can i prevent that in the future?  The only thing that i was asked about was to delete my local contacts or not.

No backup is a bad mistake.
The music sync is one way only - computer to ipod.  The exception is itunes purchases.  Without syncing, File>Transfer Purchases
Start asap always maintaining a backup of your computer.

  • Is there any way that my iPad can recording conferences, but connected to a console?

Or is there any application for this......

There are a number of voice recording apps available from the App Store that will run in the background and allow you to execute other tasks on your iPad. By name I do not know any but a simple search of "Voice Recorder" in the app store should throw up a few apps that will do what you need

  • Is there a way to have iPad mail NOT show the last opened email? If not, can this be a feature request?

Sometimes while running iPad training and usage sessions I may have to show my screen to faculty or staff while showing them a feature or how to use an app. It would be nice if the mail app didn't show the last opened message in the preview area for the sake of privacy. Can this be turned off or changed?

    No.
If you wish to make a suggestion to Apple post your idea at: http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html
By the way this is just a user-to-user technical assistance forum. Apple is not here. We are all users here.

  • Is there a way to organise Ipad apps into groups (folders) e.g. English, Maths, PrePrimary etc. in Itunes for syncing purposes?

I work in a school and have a 32 bay syncing, recharging cabinet. We are starting to get a lot of apps and need to orgaise them better. I know I can organise them into groups on an individual ipad but can I do this organisation in itunes and then sync this organisation to the 32 ipads in the cabinet.

Sorry did quick reply on your title. I'm not sure about iTunes. If you have them all attached to one apple I'd, then yo u can sync all of them the same up to 10 devices. Once you create one then you can sync the rest the same with the same folders. I'm not sure on how education works. You might be able to do more than 10 per id. I'm out of my league on that ?

  • Is there a way to charge ipad using laptop

cuz when i make restore it charge finish

Not likely. Computer USB ports usually don't put out enough power to correctly charge an iPad.  LEss so Laptop ports which are designed to save battery.
What's wrong with plugging it in to the wall?
