Is there a way to track the origin of an iMessage?

I've been receiving messages from an email address through iMessage and was wondering if there's any way to locate where the messages are coming from? Not to a specific degree.. finding out the country the messages are coming from would be useful.

No. Email address don't have to be tied to any particular geographic location. If you are being threatened, contact law enforcement. They would be able to contact the email service provider and, possibly, with the appropriate court orders, get that information.

Sir Churchill, I tried deleting one of the playlists from my computer (Playlist 130).  The next day I checked my wife's computer and noticed that Playlist 130 was now missing from her computer as well.  Is there a way that I can delete a playlist from my computer without it disappearing from hers as well?

  • Is there a way to track the delivered qty at the schedule line level in R3

    Hello Gurus,
Is there a way to track the delivered qty at the schedule line level in R3.  I spoke to al ot of functional guys on this and the answer is NO. If NO,then, how does the 2LIS_11_V_SSL extractor extract the delivered qty at schedule line level. Help is really appreciated.
    Thanks
    Simmi

    Hi Simmi,
I have used this extractor for the purpose you describe at more than one customer without problem. My understanding is that it links the order schedule line with the delivery, but I haven't tried to work out the mechanism.

recently "lost" a purchased song, (Plus the accompanying artwork) from my i-tunes library, after upgrading my O.S. from windows XP to windows 7.
Is there any way to get the original song back, or, at least, re-purchase it?... I tried to do the latter, (It's still available in the itunes store) but, when I clicked on the buy link, I was informed that I had already bought it and was only given the option to, either, copy the link or send it to Facebook/Twitter
I also, inadvertently, deleted a couple of default playlists (Notably recently added) while attempting to get the song back.
Can someone out there, please, help me out. with the solution(s). (preferably step by step if possible, as I'm a bit of a Homer Simpson when it comes to this sort of thing) .. Doh!! :-(

    Hello, MrKite549.
Here is an article that will walk you through download any past purchases that are missing from your iTunes library.

  • I am trying to crop faces from old family group photos and paste them on to records in Family Tree Maker. When I do this, the pasted cropped image reverts to the original of the entire family. Is there a way of unlinking the original version from the crop

I am trying to crop faces from old family group photos and paste them on to records in Family Tree Maker. When I do this, the pasted cropped image reverts to the original of the entire family. Is there a way of unlinking the original version from the cropped image?

Are you copying the cropped images directly from Aperture's Browser window and then pasting into your family tree?
It would be safer to export the cropped faces as new image files to a folder on your disk, and then drag them from there to the "Family Tree" window.
To export select the cropped image versions in Aperture's browser and use the command "File > Export > Version". Select a suitable export preset from the pop-up menu, for example "Jpeg fit into ..." and select a folder to export to.

  • Is there a way to overwrite the ORIGINAL songs with my iTunes library info?

    Hi there,
I would like to know if there is a way to overwrite the original songs with my iTunes library info? What I mean is, I have MANY songs that I have transferred to iTunes (and were obviously not purchased from iTunes) and I always put the info (such as the album name, the album art, artist, composer, etc.) and it leaves the original song (like the songs that are in "My music" section that is in "My Documents") with the same info. For example : The song that I put into the library will be "chamiionaire feastureing flip"... and in the iTunes, I put it as "Chamillionaire ft. Lil Flip". How do I make it so that it replaces the "original" info (located in my documents) with the info I put in?

Same question. Used to have an iPod. Lost it (best digital player ever), now I use other portable device. The mp3 files have their id3tag edited in the original file, but the .m4a don't!.
Want to know someway to write the info from the library to the original .m4a files.

  • Is there a way to retain the original date after editing?

I am using PSE 11 on a MacBook Pro, OS X (10.3). I have a lot of old pictures to edit, and they are in date order, which is how I want them.
However, when I edit a picture and save it, it moves it to the bottom, with today's date instead of the original date.  I have them set to save with the original as a version set.
Is there any way to retain the orignal dates, short of having to go in and reset the date on every picture after I save it?  I really want them to be in date order under their original dates.
BTW, I used earlier versions that were Windows-based, and this didn't happen.  When I saved them, the version sets stayed where they were.
    This is really frustrating!

    SK Prairie Chicken a écrit:
I'd like an answer to this too.
    What's your problem exactly?
The 'date taken' is never changed by editing a picture.

  • I do not have Aperture installed on my computer anymore but I do have my old library.  Is there any way to extract the ORIGINAL image from the library without having Aperture installed?

I started using Aperture back when it first came out.  I really had no idea what I was doing when I set everything up.  I got a new computer but do not have my Aperture disc anymore but I do have my old library.  I can get into the library and find the pictures in the Preview and Thumbnails folders, but these obviously are not the original pictures.  The ones in the Preview folder are only 10% of the size of the original digial photo.  I want to know if there is any way to get or reconstruct the original picture using the files in the library without installing Aperture.

    Hi Refringgers,
Install the 30 day trial of Aperture. Open your Aperture Library, export the Masters and Versions.
Other than that I will make a strong recommendation not to muck within the Aperture library. Yes, you can find your photos in there, but if you ever decide to again use it may well be unable to be opened. The other thing is the photos are scattered around in a gazillion folders it would take a long time, of course depending on the number of photos, to retrieve them.
    Cordially,
    RicD

  • Is there a way to track the status of a process?

    Hi all,
after user completes a process, user later might want to know what stage this process is in, user want to keep track.
is there a way to do so?
i tried the UWL's "Completed tasks" it only shows me some very basic infos. i want to know what stage the process is in right now. how?
    thanks in advance.

    Hi,
There are NWA Applications to monitor the status of process and tasks.
Please go to NWA HomePage -> Operation MAnagement -> Manage Process  (there is also a link Manage Tasks).
Here, you could have the status of the process, with its details, context data, business logs etc.
    Hope this helps !

  • Is there a way to discover the original provider?

I bought my iphone online, but it's simlocked. Apparently only the original provider can remove the simlock, but I dont know who it is. Is there a way to discover this provider (through IMEI or other data from the phone)? I am searching for a legal way (which probably involves paying for the unlocking), but it would really suck if I bought an iphone which I can't even use ...

Call AppleCare or go to an Apple store. You can also use the "Expres Lane":
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
Be aware: Most carriers that offer unlocking will only do so for the last person to use the phone on their network, which obviously is not you.

  • Is there any way to restore the original function buttons on the main bar?

I'm used to having my 'Stop Loading', 'Home', 'Reload' buttons to the left of the address bar... Is there any way in FF 4 to add those buttons back to the bar?
I get the concept of chasing the 'awesome bar' concept, but some of us prefer to have more direct and immediate control of these functions, rather than having someone else spoon-feed over simplified controls to us.

That took care of it! But a caution to anyone wanting to do the same things: Make sure you know the exact name of your Persona if you use one, cause if you use the Strata XP plugin to restore the colors to your function buttons, because when you use the plugin, it will eliminate your current Persona... At least as far as I can tell- I can't find the original setup of my old Persona, so am now having to search for it all over again... :'(

  • Is there any way to track the use of an IMEI on a stolen iPhone 5?

I've had an iPhone 5 stolen.
Battery was dead so 'Find My iPhone' was no use -so far.
Problem is... my SIM-PIN is disabled so I need to deactivate the SIM in order to prevent fraudulent use of my contract account (if someone transferred the nano-SIM into another handset) -and to get services back.
Once I do this, the phone will have zero network coverage and shall be unable to receive "Find My iPhone" messages or transmit its position.
So, the difficulty here is that, in order to protect use of my phone account, I have to give up on any possibility of recovering my phone.
Also, the handset's PIN is enabled so a well-intentioned person who might find my phone would be unable to connect the phone, even to their WiFi, to provide it with coverage in order to receive my 'Find My iPhone' message.
I'm trying to figure out how I might use the IMEI to be made aware of the phone coming back up on a network somewhere at some future date? If so, I could contact the relevant network and track the calls and recover the phone.
I assume that as there is a handset PIN in use on the phone -some jailbreaking or similar shall be required to hack the phone and reset it?
If someone is going to that effort then clearly, the phone has been stolen rather than 'found'.
    Any ideas?
    Regards,
    EUPREMIER

Apple, as I'm sure you know, now manage official phone 'unlocks' directly rather than the Newtork doing so.
When a GSM Network Provider buys a consignment of iPhone's they are locked to that carrier and may only be officially unlocked if said carrier requests it. If so, it is Apple who do this, via iTunes.
I am therefore inclined to think that part of the any generic iTunes syncing process involves the transmission of key hardware data, including IMEI, to Apple whenever the handset is synced.
If this is the case and, as each iTunes account is linked to a credit card, were Apple to maintain a database of genuinely stolen phones (ones reported to Police) they could advise said Police force when a stolen phone stuck its metaphorical head over the parapets once again? They would be able to identify the name & address of the new user.
I have spoken to the Police here in Ireland today and they regularly engage with Apple on such matters.
This may not be tracking as we know it Jim, (not using GSM Triangulation or GPS) but it's arguably even more targetted and leaves an indelible fingerprint of guilt on the thief.
The laws here are simple in this regard, if you are in possession of stolen property, knowlingly or otherwise, you forfeit the goods once the Police show up. Whether you get prosecuted depends on whether you stole the goods or were duped into purchasing them.

  • Is there a way to track the time within the clip (not sequence) that you're in?

Let me try to explain this as best I can and make sense.
I watched a video clip and I liked everything from, let's say the :30 mark to the minute mark. So, I import it into Premiere.
However, when I put it at the end of the next clip, it shows the time for the whole sequence. Now, I know that I can do the math, but is there a way to show where the 30 second mark (in this example) is by avoiding doing the calculation? It's do-able, but seems a little tedious.
Would like to "reset the clock" so to speak when working on individual clips within the timeline.

Choose the edit points in the Source Monitor before inserting to the Sequence.
You can see the duration of the In and Outs in the Monitor .

  • Audio ducking : is there a way to hide the original footage's sound? Its grey-ed out.

My original footage's audio needs to be removed. I would love to just take it out but if I need to cover it up with ducking thats ok too. How do I hide the original footage's sound? I turned each clip to 0% but its not working.

    Tim,
You might try including the IFERROR function in your expression. This will suppress the error message.

  • Is there a way to track the Facebook app search history?

I've been trying to see if I can follow my son's search results in the Facebook app.  There are questionable sites I prefer him not to search out.  I can shut off the app and just have him use safari and track his movements that way, but would rather just use the app.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

    Just click on:
    https://me.com/find/
and enter your ID.  When it locates your iPod, it will allow you to turn on an alarm signal on your iPod which should let you find it.
