Is there a way to use one app spread across 2 displays with Mavericks?

I use Premiere Pro CC (among other apps) and have that app set up in 2 monitors. It doesn't seem like Mavericks is going to like that so much. Is there a way to change the display back to how it used to behave?

Yes this is the fix. I was getting frustrated over this issue. I use Dreamweaver across two minitors and the palette locations were resetting back to the main monitior where the app was. This unchecking and a quick log out and back in fixes the issue. Thank you!

Some prepaid cards appear to act as credit cards to the merchant. If yours is one of them it should work, but debit cards are not accepted for the iTunes Store.

Do you mean an iTunes Card, the kind sold at Wal-Mart? Sure, that will work.
"Pre-paid" and "credit" are mutually exclusive.
I believe this way of thinking about it ought to be valid: if you need a PIN code, the card won't work.
I don't use debit cards so I can't be certain if this will apply consistently, but let me know if that makes sense.

Is there a way to use iChat on Lion to communicate with my iCloud contacts using iMessage on their devices?

I currently have a MacBook Pro, iPhone and iPad with working iMesagge, all these i use to chat with my iMessage contacts without conflicts, recently I've been assigned a MacBook in my job which can't be upgraded to Mountail Lion and currently has iChat 6 installed.
When i log in using iChat, it doesn't list any of my contacts. Adding them manually gets them in the buddy list but still doesn't allow to send them messages since they all appear offline.
I already signed in with my Apple ID in the MacBook, the same one I use with all my working devices mentioned above. There is only one user account in the MacBook which i have created since this computer has been assigned to me only.
Any ideas?

Messages is iChat+
The Plus bit being the Apple iMessages service.
Apart from the iMessages service both apps can join:
AIM (with AIM registered or AIM Valid Screen Names ending in @mac.com @me.com and @icloud.com from Apple)
Jabber (with names registered at Jabber servers. Two exceptions are GoogleTalk IDs and Facebook IDs)
iChat 6 and Messages can also Join Yahoo. Must be a registered Yahoo Name and not one of the ones that can be used with the Yahoo App itself.
All these chats will be AIM to AIM, Jabber to Jabber or Yahoo to Yahoo.
The confusing can be that each can use email looking names and IDs.
Jabber Names (with the exception of Google) are in the form of [email protected]
AIM registered names don't normally have any @AOL/AIM.com suffix but @ is an allowed character and as mentioned @mac.com, @me.com and @icloud.com names are also Valid.
Yahoo are also email looking names in the form [email protected]
This does tend to mean it is easy to add an email to any Buddy list and it is initially accepted as it conform the the format.
Mostly they will appear Off line in an AIM list and Awaiting Authorisation in a Jabber list.
iChat as such will not chat to your iMessages Contacts.
It is an extra service that the Message App can join in addition to AIM, Jabber or Yahoo.

I have an Exchange server configured to require a client certificate. Is there a way to configure a certificate for Apple Mail/Address Book/Calendar ? There seems to be no option in the account settings to do that (in contrast to for example the IMAP settings).

I don't know. Try downloading the certificate and installing it in your keychain. See what happens.

Is there a way to use a non-apple external display (monitor) without having my macbook air plugged in?

Just got a 27'' AOC monitor that I'm using with my Macbook Air (purchased in 2013). It's working great but as soon as I unplug the power adapter from my laptop the monitor goes black and says 'no signal'. I've been reading online that you need to have the power adapter plugged in to use an external monitor - my questions are: 1) does that harm the laptop's batter? if so, 2) is there a workaround? if there is no workaround, 3) does an Apple monitor also require that a laptop be plugged in for the external display to continue functioning while the laptop is in clamshell mode (closed lid)?

Thanks, Matt. In my case, the monitor definitely shuts off when I unplug the power from my laptop in clamshell mode. If the lid is open, however, the monitor continues to function even without the power adapter plugged into my laptop. Ideally, I'd like to have the lid closed on my laptop and be able to use the external monitor without having the power plugged into my laptop. That's what doesn't seem to work - if your does, please let me know if you have any pointers.

Is there a way to use iSight camera to control display based on motion?

I have a "weather" computer setup in my kitchen. It literally just has Doppler radar on at all times. I don't want the screen on all the time when I'm not in there for obvious reasons (burn, energy, etc.). I'd like the screen to sleep after say, an hour, and when I walk by have it come on. Any ideas how to accomplish this? Would be cool if the built in camera could somehow be used as a motion sensor.

I never tried it myself, but I was thinking that something like a home-made "USB motion detector" could be used to wake the display.

Additionally something like a simple home made "USB trip switch" would also work, because the computer will sense USB activity the same as a mouse click.

Is there a way to use the Passbook on Lock Screen with Touch ID?

I love having my boarding passes available in Passbook and being able to access from the lock screen. I also like the Touch ID ability to unlock the phone without typing in the unlock code. Now to get the two together. When my passbook item shows up on the lock screen, I can right swipe the item and it takes me to the unlock screen. Before I moved to the 5S it would open (e.g. boarding pass) without unlocking. Now I have to type in the unlock code to get it to go directly to the Passbook item. If I use the Touch ID to unlock, it merely unlocks the phone - no Passbook. Any fixes to this?

Any IMAP e-mail account can be accessed from all devices just fine. You don't need to upgrade from Snow Leopard to be able to access an IMAP e-mail account. However, Snow Leopard won't have built-in support for iCloud. As mende1 points out, you can still read your iCloud e-mail from Snow Leopard, but you have to set it up manually. You won't be able to do things like sync your iCloud calendar or addresses with iCal or Address Book on the iMac, though.

I have two macbook pros a 2.4ghz and a 2.2ghz. Is there a way to use the other macbook pro to help with any cpu intensive apps like audio and video apps. Ok, here is the story: Right now I'm using Logitech G15 keyboard. It's almost 10 years old, so it's time to buy something new. However, I'm quite used to having additional screen with computer info (date/time/CPU and RAM usage/temp/etc) without switching my
Windows. However, Logitech G19s is the last keyboard with screen feature and it's still quite ridiculously expensive. So - my idea is to create my own "screen with PC info".
There are some 5-10 inch screens that I could plug in and create a full screen app, that will show all the data I need. However, having a 5 inch screen connected could mess up my "workflow" on my full size monitors.
So, my question is: Is there a way to create an app, that runs on system start, takes "ownership" of that small monitor, disabling it for Windows to (for example) extend desktop?

If I understand correctly, you want your application to be displayed on the extended screen, if it is, you could have a try the
SetWindowPlacement function and

No.
One of you create a new AppleID and one use the existing AppleID.
But you can still use the items in each iTunes library.
Create separate computer logins for each of you.
This will give you each your own data. Contacts, calendars, photos, etc. (and your own iTunes library).

Not really. You can hide an app in restrictions, but iPad is a single user device, so there is no real way to lock an active app from others if you let them use your iPad.
