I have created a Adobe document with several form fields. Three of them include ways to pay. I want to ensure that they select a way to pay (check, invoice, at the door) before saving. Is there a way to run a validation before they save the file, to ensure one of the options is checked?

Yes and no - you can attach code to the doc.WillSave event but as the name suggests you cannot stop the file being saved, by the time that event fires the decision has been made.

Is there any way to truly unify Exchange and POP accounts?

New iMac 27" owner, and long-time owner of a MacBook Pro
I wonder if there is any way to truly unify the different email accounts in either Mail or Outlook 2011 Mac, as I had with my PC using Outlook 2013. There, I was able to deliver mail from all accounts INTO the inbox of my choice, and I was able to still reply with whatever account it was sent to (3 accounts, one Exchange, two POP).
The 'Inbox' on Outlook 2011 shows all of them, but it doesn't replicate what I had, whereby the messages were still tied to their original 'sent to' accounts, but appeared in one inbox, AND, most importantly, if I deleted them from the inbox, they were deleted across all my messages that accessed the Exchange server. If I choose just to have all the emails 'moved' to the Exchange inbox, then if I reply, I have to choose the account manually, as it could be one of three, but will always bring up Exchange, as it was 'moved' not shown there, as per the Outlook 2013 instructions/rules above.
Has anyone done this successfully? I don't care which email client I use - Outlook 2011 or Mail - I just want it to work!

Is there a way to make Illustrator save in the background, like Photoshop?

Out of Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator, Illustrator is definitely the one I have most problems working with, due to small UI differences and ways of handling things
Like the fact that you can't drag next to a number to change it, like in Photoshop. Or the fact that I can't sync my settings (it only says "Signed in as:", and when I press Manage Account, I'm taken to my CC files in Safari).
But most annoying is the fact that whenever I'll save a document in Illustrator, a dialogue box opens letting me know the progress of the saving. Not only does this make me unable to continue working on the document (if the file is large, it takes some time), the app icon starts jumping in the dock if I switch to another program before the box appears.
So, is there any way to make it save in the background, like in Photoshop? I'm running OS X, with Illustrator version 17.1.0.

This really frustrates me, small differences between the apps that shouldn't be there.
I understand you can't change the keyboard shortcuts to be the same/similar, but this is totally different. Let's hope it changes soon.

The Cloud is for Apple-purchased items only. To get pdfs across multiple devices, you can email them, sync them through itunes or save to an app like Dropbox (a cloud-based service) and open in iBooks.

It is OSX only and exports PDFs for creating Photoshop layers. The exported PDFs get trashed so if you can use AppleScript I can edit out the Photoshop part post a version that only saves the PDFs

Is there a way to just press ⌘ + S and have Pages save as .doc?

For all of my college document, they have to be saved as a .doc so that they work with the college computers.
Once I create a document in Pages, I save it and tick the box that says 'Save a copy as: Word Document' but then even after it has saved, the red dot to close the windows has the black dot in the centre to say it hasn't been saved.
Is there a way to stop this happening and once I have saved a document as a .doc once, can it be set to do it for the whole thing?

No, you can't use Cmd + S for exporting a Pages document as a Word document. It is good that you save the Pages document in its native format first. If you tick a box after you have saved the document Pages thinks you have made a change and that is why you have the black dot again.
You should be able to assign a hot key to Export > Word. Mind that you don't use any hot key already in use. May I suggest you use somthing like Option + Control + s. The Control key isn't used much for hot keys on a Mac.

Contacts are not saved in itunes.
Contacts can be saved a number of ways though. With a 3GS you can update to iOS5 and use iCloud to sync contacts to computers or other iOS devices or just to the iCloud server. You can back up your phone to iCloud which does save your contacts.
You can use iTunes to sync your contacts with address book on a mac, or windows contacts on a PC, or with outlook contacts. You can make a backup in iTunes which will include your contacts. They will not be accessible but you can restore to a device if something happens to your device and recover them.
You can also sync your contacts through a mail client such as yahoo, google, hotmail, or any exchange service.
Lastly, there's many apps that can store contacts.

Is there a way to validate a jsff fragment or a jspx page? I have come across a case where lets say a jsff has components with duplicate id. There is no error while deploying the project as a jar file. However when I try to open up the screen in the browser, at runtime it gives error because of the duplicate id. I want to basically catch such stuff at compile time rather than runtime.
NOTE: Jdeveloper IDE shows duplicate id as error, however no error is shown at compile time (using ojdeploy command line)

yes you can .
Goto the IDE Tools->Preferences->Audit->Profiles. Expand 'ADF Faces' in Rules section -> Component ID Rules -> C+heck for Duplicate IDs when ADF Faces is Present+ . Check this box.
Note the Profile at the top of this window.
Click on Audit and check Audit during Compile and select the Profile which you noted above from the drop down.
After this you will get these errors as compilation. Make sure you select only those ruels as required , otherwise you might start getting lots of errors :)

I know word displays the comments off to the side of the document, and those comments can be viewed all at once and printed alongside the document.

There doesn't appear to be a way to print conmments in either Pages or Numbers in the Mavericks versions.
