Is there a Windows 8 version of the hhactiveX.dll?

It seems the old 64bit version does not work any more on Win8..

"Perhaps I didn't make myself clear. I'm using RH 9 on Win7. The MS HTMLHELP file I generate works on Win7. When it's installed under Win8.1 I get an error message that HHActiveX.dll cannot be found, although it is installed in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\"
So the file exists there. But has it been REGISTERED with the operating system? Perhaps I missed seeing it, but it's not sufficient to just ensure the file exists. It has to be properly registered so Windows knows where it is and how to work with it.

Generally speaking, it's not RoboHelp that one has to worry about. It's the output files. Certainly a newer version of RoboHelp would be helpful as it gets updated and changes made with the way it generates output so the output works without issue on newer versions of browsers and with newer operating systems such as Windows 8.

I don't see it as nobody wanting to give you a clear answer here. Keep in mind that mostly what you see are folks that are in a similar position as you all trying to help one another out. This means we all have other things we are doing. And the fact is, there may be precious few of us that are able to dash out and obtain the latest and greatest version of an operating system. So it's likely more an issue of the "right" person that has encountered this specific issue before and overcome it AND are reading the forums and are able to help. For many of us, there isn't a clear answer.

I had an issue with my Cisco Anyconnect VPN not working, so uninstalled it. I've tried a new install and now I get the message "There is a newer version of the AnyConnect client installed" and it won't tell me install it at all. I've gone through various recommendations on the site included this :-
Go to "Regedit" and search for "Deterministic Networks" and delete it.

Disable Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) and then try You can disable ICS in two ways:
Per Adapter:
Click the Start button.
Click on Control Panel.
Click on View Network Status and Tasks
Click on Change adapter settings
Right-click the shared connection and choose Properties
Click the Sharing tab
Clear the Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection checkbox
Click OK
System Wide:
Click the Start button (Windows' orb)
Type: services.msc and press ENTER
Double-Click on Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)
Change Startup Type to Disabled
Reboot the computer
You can now try reinstalling the WiscVPN client again

We have a large (~4k lines) .cpp file which brings in a very large number of templates. On our v440 we see the compiler using more and more memory until it reaches 2Gb when it falls over with the message
"Insufficient memory is available for compilation to continue."

Is there a 64-bit version of the compiler which could handle code of this size? The large .cpp will be very difficult to split up.
Interestingly, on our Xeon-based box running Solaris 10, the compilation is very very slow, but does complete OK.

Unfortunately, there is no 64-bit version of the compiler.
Some things you can try:
Reduce the size of individual compilation units (the total amount of source code seen by the compiler in one compilation run).
Re-factor very large functions into smaller ones. During optimized compilation, the memory usage and compilation time is super-linear in the number of basic blocks in one function.
Reduce the optimization level.

I believe it is part of a research experiment at a German university. Everybody knows that nobody ever buys the Clean version of any album, except as a gift for a kid or as a mistake. Would anybody buy it if it were 4 euros cheaper? I am sure the results will appear in an academic journal.
Even in the USA iTunes Store, where the customers supposedly understand what Springsteen's lyrics are saying, there is only one version of the album.

I've been using the 64-bit nightly builds and wanted to switch over to the RC that was just released, however, I was only able to download the 32-bit version of the browser. Is there a location where I can download the 64-bit version?

Mozilla isn't going to be releasing a 64-bit version of Firefox 4.0 for Windows. The 64-bit nightly versions of Minefield will have to be used until Mozilla releases it in a future version.

Java platform and Java Deployment should be updated but there is no other version, always the warning to update but thats not possible

Java Platform 7u9 and Java Deployment Kit plug-ins are yellow and asked to be updated.
The problem is that there is no other version than I have already installed.
Even if I try to instal this latest version again I've get the message that I already have the latest version.
The same problem was with Flashplayer where I installed the latest version but three days Firefox asked to update the plugin.
The last one is now ok but Java Platform and Java Deployment Kit is hopeless.
Why it ask for an update if there is none?
What should or can I do? I always be careful and patch my pc if necesserry.
All my friends who are working with Firefox have the same problem.

There is still an issue for me. When i check to see if add-ons are up to date it identifies "Java(TM) Platform SE 7 U9" as out-of-date and gives me an orange "Update" action. When i hit this it takes me to the Java website giving me "Recommended Version 7 Update 9". This is the one i've already got so i cannot get rid of the orange Update action buttons.
Furthermore, if i try the link earlier in this thread to test to see which version of Java i should be using it says "Congratulations! You have the recommended Java installed (Version 7 Update 9)" so i'm not sure what this talk of version 7.10 is about?

If you want flash content you can look for browsers that support flash. I see iSwiffer, Photon and Skyfire recommended here.
