Is there a workaround to make my PowerBook not spit out dvds?

powerbook g4 Mac OS X (10.4.8)
Since I updated to OSX10.4.8 recently my reader spits out dvds I have burned on my external Lacie burner using Toast 6.1.1 Titanium. This never used to happen. I've read previous posts on this topic but nothing suggested there helps.
Is this a deliberate attempt on the part of Apple to control dvd burning? I am using material that does not have security on it for demo reel purposes only.
Older dvds that I burned prior to the update are accepted by the machine while new ones are not.
Can anyone please help?

Session cookies are kept in memory AFAIK and never written to disk.
What makes you think that Firefox is saving them to disk?
You can look at the portable Firefox version if you want to minimize writes to the disk that stores your Firefox profile.

Is there a way to make PSE 13 NOT open all my photos when I open the program?

Is there a default location when I can change it so that when I open PSE 13 Organizer it does not open all the photos in the Album? I would rather that It just opened the Folders and let me choose which file to open. I have Windows 7 if that makes any difference. thanks...

When I had a palm pilot, I was able to make memos, addresses, or notes private individually. I did not have to use a password for my entire device. Is there a way in Notes to make some information private?

That would be contrary to the purpose of private browsing, not saving a record of the private browsing session.

Is there a way to make 3g and not wi-fi the priority for sending text messages to someone using an iOS5 device?

Here's the problem: I am often in a building which has free wifi but the wifi requires that you accept the terms of use during every browsing session. If I receive a text message from someone who is also using iOS5, the phone seems to default to wi-fi to send my response. If I have not yet accepted the terms of use for the building's wi-fi, my phone wont send the text message response. I don't know if that is because the phone is connected to a wifi signal albeit one that can't yet access the internet. For whatever reason, the phone is just trapped in a "sending messge" loop and wont break out of it until I open my browser and accept the terms of use. This is the situation notwithstanding the fact that I have 3g service and the signal is available to send sms/mms.
Can anyone offer a suggestion other than disabling wi-fi?

Thank you for your reply. I looked at my settings and the phone has been set on "send as SMS"--but for some reason, the phone is continuing to try to send it over wifi despite the lack of an internet connection on wifi. It would seem that after a minute or more of trying, the phone would recognize that wifi wasnt available and would send it on SMS but it apparently doesnt. I can, of course, turn off iMessage but I dont like the idea of having to do that everytime---particularly since an increasing number of my contacts are using iOS5 devices.

The app store lists the app as "Install" rather than with a price to indicate that you can download it again without charge if you change your mind. It is not possible to make something in the app store go away. Why do you want to?

Is there a workaround to CSCtn42049 user groups not deleted on topology?

My customer has 200 devices and the topology view is very dificult to visualize.
I tried using user defined groups, but after deleting them to start over they keep on the topology.
It´s probably the CSCtn42049 bug.

Besides that on the Level 2 map I see several Ethernet segments that causes the links not shown
properly as they should. All links have CDP activated.

The 2012 (no camera on back) was the one that has Tegra 3.
The old flash 11.1 should work on Nexus 7 2013 if it has Android 4.x, however with Android 5.0 or Lollipop I am not sure.

PowerBook G4 spits out Mac OS 10.5 Leopard Install DVD

I bought Mac OS X Leopard and wanted to install it on my PowerBook G4 however it spits it straight back out of the disc drive. I tried to restart the computer and hold down C - this did not work either. When I test it out on my PowerPC the installation setup folder appears and it works. (I bought the Family Pack). How can I setup my PowerBook G4 so it will except Mac OS X Leopard Install DVD? Do I have to reinstall my original computer operating system, wipe my hard-drive and start again? Why didn't APPLE say there was a problem with PowerBook G4?

There's a few ways you can install Leopard on that powerbook. I'm assuming your powerbook meets the requirements.
If you have a firewire drive handy>on another PPC Mac using Disk Utility, partition the firewire drive or don't your choice>choose in Disk Utility options APM ie Apple Partition Mapping>have the Leopard DVD on the desktop, do not boot from the Leopard DVD disc>use the Disk Utility restore function>select the name of the Leopard disc as the "source" ie drag it to the source window>drag the name of the destination partition to the "destination" window select apply. Once done you can boot into that Leopard "installer" partition and install to your powerbook. This method is much faster than using the optical disc.

Imac spits out DVD-RW and makes me angry

I have a mid 2008 intel iMac. I have burned dvd-dl dvd-r and cds with no problems. However, this thing is spitting the DVD-RWs into my face and no matter how much i yell at it it won't accept them.

First and formost welcome to the discussions.
Many times this can simply be an issue with not having your software up to date.
Go up to your Apple and select Software Update and click it.
This can also be from the brand of Media you are using. I have found that using cheaper Media can cause problems. I try to always use top of the line Media.

Another very good thing to try is to Check the web site of your Optical Drive manufacture and download any firmware update for yours.

How to make a disk image of a DVD to Playback in IDVD Player?

Is there a way to make a disk image of a DVD so I can play it with IDVD Player? I made a DVD image from Disk Utility and got a .dmg file, I then copied the contents of the DVD to the image. iDVD doesn't recognize it. So I then converted this image to a DVD/CD Master .cdr file with Disk Utility, but this isn't recognized by iDVD either. I am running OS 10.4.11.

One can burn a disc image thru iDvd or apple's disc utility but it is Not possible to play a disc image thru iDvd to the best of my knowledge. However a disc image burned thru iDvd will play exactly like a typical dvd when apple's dvd player app is used for playback. You may need to navigate to the video_ts folder (w/in the disc image) in order to play the image.

With the new Keynote upgrade (version 6.1), the slide image size on handouts is very small, which makes it difficult to read slide content when compiling lecture notes for students. Is there a way to make the slide size larger while still keeping to a format of 3 slides per page with lines?

A number of posts have reported the same issue, two workarounds:

check the paper handling options or equivalent in your print dialogue box and set to scale to fit

in the Keynote option, in the dropdown menu in the Print section, select Individual Slides
then choose Layout, and set the number of pages, when printed you will have multiple pages on a single sheet.

FR Studio - Is there a workaround for the issue with referencing data from a grid with a different DB connection and different # of dimensions?

I am trying to reference a column in a different grid with a different database connection. I did some research in the forums, and it seems like this is a known issue with FR Studio. The issue is that if the 2 different database connections have different # of dimensions, then the reference will throw an error.
For example, what I'm trying to do is below:
In grid2.column[A], I have the following formula:
grid1.column[A]
The result is an error.
The ultimate goal is to have a basic variance formula in the grid between grid1 and grid2, which have different database connections with a different # of dimensions. Is there a workaround at all to this bug? The example of the basic formula is below:
grid1.column[A] - grid2.column[A]
Any help is much appreciated!

The issue with trying it in Grid1 vs Grid2 is that Grid1's DB connection has more dimensions than Grid2's DB connection. I can't change the DB connection to a database with more dimensions because you have to be able to map all dimensions from the existing DB connection (Grid1) to the new DB connection (Grid2). This isn't possible, so instead I have to map Grid2 (less dimensions) to Grid1 (more dimensions). It just ignores the extra dimensions from Grid1. Does that make sense?

Today I ALMOST finalized my delete-recon (is for AD objects, but I think it may work in many contexts). As the pals said, you have to use the createDeleteReconciliationEvent method from the operations API.
I had a big problem: I spent a day looking for a NullPointerException that was raised just when this method is called. I realized that there is not a problem itself, the exception was raised because I was launching from the Eclipse project! So, instead of develop all the stuff and then pass it to OIM, I had to maje the jar, put it into the ScheduleTask folder, and execute it with the Task Scheduler from the Design Console, or from the Admin Console.
For a brief:
1) make a class that extends com.thortech.xl.scheduler.tasks.SchedulerBaseTask
2) implement the execute() method
3) for creating the operator, you can call (tcReconciliationOperationsIntf)getUtility("Thor.API.Operations.tcReconciliationOperationsIntf") (getUility is inherited from SchedulerBaseTask)
4) Make some Map object, with key/value pairs. Keys have to be the same as they appear in the Reconciliation Fields of the Resource Object, and at least you have to put the required ones. Call the method, the first parameter is a String with the RO ("Xellerate User", "AD User", "Exchange", etc).
For example, you can make something like this:
               HashMap hm = new HashMap();
               hm.put("User ID", "drldap");
               hm.put("objectGUID", "12345679");
               try {
                    reconOps.createDeleteReconciliationEvent("AD User", hm);
               catch(Exception e) {
                    e.printStackTrace(System.out);
