Is there a working version of xcode for snow leopard out there?

I downloaded v 4.2 from developer.apple and when I try to install it on my computer it says "unknown installation error occurred" and "you may want to contact the software manufacturer."  It doesn't give me anything else...
Similarily, I used adobe flash pro to build my .ipa file and am curious if I even need xcode - is there a working version of Application Loader for Snow Leopard available for download?
Thanks a bunch.

I need to upload my .ipa file to itunes connect...
I have an older mac with snow leopard 10.6.8 and an old version of Xcode (3.2), but no Application Loader to load my .ipa to itunes connect.  The Application Loader you can download in itunes connect requres OS 10.7 or higher, and I I can't upgrade my OS without increasing RAM.

  • What is the latest version of XCode for Snow Leopard?

    I have XCode 4.0.2 for Snow Leopard installed.  Is that the latest version available for Snow Leopard?
    Is Apple pushing us to upgrade to Lion to get a version newer than 4.0.2.  I see that XCode 4.2 is available for Lion.
    David.

    This information might be useful for those who are not members of the $99/year iOS Developer Program.  I am not a member, I have Snow Leopard, and I purchased Xcode 4.0 for $5 from the Mac App Store in March 2011.  Just for fun I searched the app store for Xcode.  As expected, the only search result is Xcode 4.2 with stated minimum requirement 10.7 (Lion).  I am curious why it even shows Snow Leopard users the active Free button that implies I can download it.  I don't know how the app store works but I assume it would not let me install this on 10.6 Snow Leopard.
    But the Purchased view shows Xcode for Snow Leopard.  I noticed the button on the right showed Update rather than Installed.  Clicking the item name to find details including the version number shows Your request could not be completed.  I decided to update in hopes this would be 4.2.  I deleted Install Xcode from my Applications folder, restarted the App Store, then pressed the Update button.  1.77GB later I have Install Xcode in my Applications folder, preview shows version 4.2 (used to show 4.0.2),
    The installer just finished running, I now have Xcode 4.2 build 4C199.  About Xcode.pdf in the Developer folder starts with Developer tools for Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard and iOS 5.  So this is clearly not exactly the same as Xcode 4.2 for Lion.  It does include the iOS 5 SDK, LLVM 3.0, etc.  Not sure what is different in the Lion build.

  • I've paid $ 3,99 for Xcode for Snow Leopard. Now there is a new Xcode for Lion, so I downloaded the new one but the installed continued to be the old one. Now App Store says "Installed" and don't allow me to re-download Xcode. How can I proceed?

    I've paid $ 3,99 for Xcode for Snow Leopard 12 days ago. After installing Lion I saw there is a new FREE Xcode for it, so I downloaded the new one but after installing automatically Xcode for Lion the Developer folder contained the old one. I deleted the old Xcode but the App Store says "Installed" and don't allow me re-download Xcode.
    How can I proceed? I'm guessing whether this problem will occur each time I buy an application from App Store.

    Yes, that's righ, Xcode installer was in the Apps folder. I assumed it had been automatically installed and the installer deleted after installation (the same way as Lion is installed).
    I tried also the procedure for redownloding applications, and MAS showed both Xcodes (Lion and Snow Leopard) and OS X Lion. We see that buttons for Lion and Xcode for Snow Leopard say 'Install' but Xcode for Lion says 'installed' because there is an Install Scode in the Apps folder.
    Thank you.

  • I can't (re)install Xcode for Snow Leopard

    After deinstalling of Xcode for Snow Leopard, when I try to install it again in AppStore I get 2 error messages, the first one is "This item is temporarily unavailable. / Please try again." and the scond one is "We could not complete your request. / There was an error in the App Store. Please try again later. (100)". I really need the Xcode and... what I've paid my $$$ for if I can't get the purchase?

    It looks like Apple forcing our moving to Lion.
    It's not good thing at all and for me specially. I have some software that aren't compartible with Lion so I can't move to it right now.
    So far, so less I like AppStore for Mac. The iPad/iPhone version of AppStore has no such problems, why the Mac's one has? Ugrh

    So I guess they just yanked it from the App Store. Boo!
    I contacted App Store support and they gave me my money back, so that's something, but what I really want is Xcode 4 for Snow Leopard.

  • Where can I download xcode for snow leopard?

    Where can I download xcode for snow leopard?

    I am a paid member of the developer program, and Xcode 4.2 for Snow Leopard does not appear in the downloads area. I just joined today and received email confirmation, but perhaps this update to my account has not worked its way through to Apple's back-end yet. Nevertheless, it appears that Xcode 4.2 for Snow Leopard is not available any more to anyone, whether they are paid members or not.

  • Cannot install XCode for Snow Leopard from the Appstore.

    So... I reinstalled OSX, mainly for the fact I wanted to... but now I'm trying to reinstall my Apps from the App Store, specificly XCode4, which is now titled "XCode for Snow Leopard" in my purchased apps... But I cannot download/install it. I get an "This is not available error" followed by a Error 100...
    Apple tech support is being utterly useless for this. Any ideas?

    Xcode ( 4.1.1) on the AppStore is now only for Lion.
    On the Developer Portal you can still access the freely available 3.2.6 package even without being a paying Apple Developer ( need only a Apple-ID to connect to the Mac Developer Portal for normal Users ) . 4.x was a paid app, so it is not accesible for average users from there nor from AppStore.

  • Is there any driver Konica Minolta Di2510f for Snow leopard?

    Is there any driver Konica Minolta Di2510f for Snow leopard?

    You have a very old printer. The lastest driver I saw was one for Tiger. Whether it works in Snow Leopard?
    Are you able to physically attach the printer to your Mac (unknown), because being very old, it may not even be able to plug into it. Most modern Macs require USB.
    The link I found, though I don't think the software would be all that useful.

  • Is possible to download Xcode for Snow Leopard?

    Hi all,
    sorry for my English but I don't speak it very well.
    I'm a programmer (small programmer ), but I'm not an expert with Mac but I want tot start to "study" the App world (just for fun )
    I have a Macbook and I want to try to use Xcode. I have Snow Leopard (10.6.2) OS but I can find Xcode 4.X only for Lion OS!!!
    Is possibile to download XCode 4 for Snow Leopard? And where is possible to download?
    Thanks for help!

    AFAIK the 3.2.6 is still available with a free Developer Account>Navigate to Developer Tools. Only question is can one still get a free developer account. I think so. Here it is: Register for free.

  • Xcode for Snow Leopard?

    In the Apple Developer library I see Xcode download 4.4 but requires at least Lion:
    https://developer.apple.com/downloads/index.action
    It's not clear what the latest version of Xcode is for SL.
    I can find the release notes for 4.2 (it mentions SL compatibility) but not the download.
    Where can I get the download for latest Xcode version for SL?
    Thanks,
    iX

    You won;t be able to get to the 4.2 version unless you are a paid developer. If you are then sign into your account. Once there do a search.
    If you're not a paid developer go to Downloads for Apple Developers and search for xcode 3

  • Does anyone know where to find and download xcode for Snow Leopard?

    I need to access Xcode but it's not in App Store anymore. Any tips will be great.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
    You can register as a free Apple developer in http://developer.apple.com, access to the Mac Dev Center and download Xcode 3 from there with Snow Leopard compatibility. This is the only way of getting Xcode 3, apart from the Snow Leopard disc or the DVDs that came with your Mac

  • Are there any free down loads available for snow leopard os x10.5.8?

    ARE THERE ANY FREE DOWNLOADS FOR APPLE SNOW LEOPARD OS X 10.5.8?

    If you're trying to upgrade the OS, no; you need to buy 10.6 on DVD from the online Apple Store.
    If you're trying to download something else, it depends on the product.

  • 2 simple questions on Xcode for the experts out there

    hey.  I have just started programming in C++ and am getting good results in the command line tool in xcode.
    I am trying out my own programmes based on what I am learning from a C++ book.  However, there seems to be an issue with one of the things I have learned.
    Acording to the book I can use a getline statement to allow a user to input a string with spaces such as a whole sentence instead of one word.
    Well when ever I use getline, xcode reports no errors (build succeeded) however it always skips over the getline and moves to the next part of the code.for example,
    #include <iostream>
    #include <string>
    using namespace std;
    //This is just a random example.
    int main ()
        string first;
        string last;
        cout <<"what is your first name?";
        cin >>first;
        cout <<"what is your middle and last name?";
        getline (cin, last);
        cout <<"hello"  <<first <<" " <<last;
        return 0;
    if it is my code please say.  But xcode only excepts my first name then skips right to hello.
    It does not pause to let me input middle and last.  How can I fix this?
    Second question is I am viewing everything in the debug console.  How do I get my code to run in terminal?
    Thank you so much to everyone that answers.

    Saad Attieh wrote:
    So how do I get this to run in terminal.app? Will it run any differently?
    That is how I ran it. It runs the same.
    The easiest way is to just inspect the build output , find the temporary path it uses, and go there. For simple programs like this, you can just type them in with vi and compile with clang++.
    Oh yeah and do you know if and how I can use c++ to create a full application in Xcode?  As in what template do I choose?  According to the user guide I have to choose a carbon application template or something like that if I want to make a application with the usual quit and minimise etc buttons.  But I cannot find that so I am feeling very silly.
    Also, looking a head into the future what are the best languages to use for coding in Mac OS X?
    You should use Objective-C for building MacOS X programs. If you are building command line tools or libraries, you could just use C++. There isn't anything on the Mac that requires C++.
    If you really wanted to, you could write the Mac parts in Objective-C and your own routines in C++ and connect them with C linkage. Another option would be to use Objective-C++. The core operating system and especially user interface libraries are all designed for Objective-C. It isn't smart to fight against the system.
    In practice, C++ is just an awful language. Anything you might want to use C++ for can be more easily done in Objective-C. I spent 15 years writing C++ software. I really enjoyed it, but I realized that I enjoyed it because it was hard - like a puzzle. That approach isn't conducive to effective software development.

  • Why cant i re-download xcode 4 for snow leopard from the mac app store?

    i reformatted my mac's hd and didnt back up applications that i bought from the mac appstore cause its easy to re-download, so im trying to re-download and instal xcode for snow leopard the one that you purchase for 5 dollars

    Been trying about 2 weeks now to get the xcode 4 for snow leopard that I purchased for $5 installed on my new macbook pro but I get the same error.  After several frustrating calls and emails the final verdict from Apple was either contact the developer and get a copy (uh Apple right?) or you just can't install it since they've removed it from the App Store. They said just upgrade to Lion but I can't upgrade to Lion on my work machine since well Lion brings down our NAS.  So I'm totally hosed on this one.  Apple should not force us to move to Lion.  That's not right.
    There isn't a version of Xcode on this machine so there shouldn't be any conflicts.  I REALLY need Xcode 4 installed and this is really frustrating because I already paid for the thing.

  • What is current version iPhoto for Snow Leopard?

    What is the current version of iPhoto for Snow Leopard?  I have used iPhoto ever since 10.6.8 was installed --use Software Update all the time, my current iPhoto says it's v. 8.3.1.  Now, suddenly, when I try to open iPhoto, messages says : " The photo library needs to be upgraded to work with this version of iPhoto. Your photo library will not be readable by previous versions of iPhoto after the upgrade. The upgrade process may take several minutes depending on the number of photos in the library.  (choices are)  Quit - - Upgrade"
    I am fearful to click the upgrade because I have assumed iPhoto was up-to-date for this OS 10.6.8.  Fearful, because I envision losing the whole iPhoto library.   I was in our local reseller/retailer yesterday and was encouraged  to "just go ahead and click it!"  but tho' I'm not a nerd, I need to understand what's going on here !  WIll appreciate any thoughtful counsel . . .

    9.2.3, which is part of iLife '11.

  • HT4163 Need iPhoto 9.0 for Snow Leopard 10.6.8

    I have an old macbook running 10.6.8.  I want iPhoto version 9 ('11), but all I can find in the app store is version 9.3, which only runs on Lion.  I want iPhoto for Snow Leopard.  I can see no reason why Apple has forsaken Snow Leopard. There is no reason why the App store can't have version 9.0 so both Lion and Snow Leopard users can buy it and update it to suit individual needs.  Does anyone know how to get version 9.0 for Snow Leopard online?

    Just a follow-up.  I did purchase iLife '09 on eBay and it works smoothly. A few hiccups. I mistakenly did an "upgrade install" of OS X, twice.  "Upgrade installs" take a long, long time to do, and in the end, just don't work.  It turned out that the utilities menu that I needed to access in order to reformat and do a "clean install' was pushed right off the screen where I could not see it, due to a faulty video driver matchup on the install disk.  The result was that I wasn't sure what kind of install I was doing.
    So, now I have a mini-Mac that works just like it used to, but really with no perceptible advantage to what I had before, just a few bucks lighter, and many hours of effort.  The good news is that my older mini-Mac (read the Apple fine print carefully on which Intel processors do and don't work) will run Snow Leopard, albeit a little slower than Tiger.  Hopefully, Apple technology and the various software upgrades required to browse the Internet will stay compatible with Snow Leopard for a while yet.  But the Apple mini-Mac takes the cake for the poorest backward compatibility I've run across since I began with computers in the late 1960s.
