Is there airport card available for G4 10.3.9

Is there a airport card I can install in my older G4 so I can use the wireless internet and printers?
Thanks for your help.
Lisa

It depends on which Power Mac G4 you have?
Some Power Mac G4s do not have any wireless card slot.
Some Power Mac G4s have an internal slot for the original AirPort card.
Some Power Mac G4s have an internal slot for the AirPort Extreme card.
Identify your Power Mac G4 using (KB 58418) "Power Mac G4: How to Differentiate Between Models" and (KB 42739) "Power Mac G4: How to Differentiate Between Models, Part 2".

Is there a template available for a credit card authorization form? (Something professional looking along the lines "I authorize a one time payment in the amount of...select Mastercard, Amex...billing addresss...3 digit code...) Thanks

There probably is, but before you go to far with a PDF form for such information you need to consider how it is to be used.
E-mail is a definite no. Even standard web submission is not acceptable. You would want to submit to a secure web site. If that is the case, it might be better to just use standard HTML processes, but at least https is a needed protocol for things such as credit cards and other personal information. I always look for "https" on line and would probably refuse to use a PDF form that asked for my credit card because of a concern about proper handling. Messing this up could lead to a big law suit against you, suggesting why so many firms just use a payment service.

    thanks sooo much!

Does your AE 9 already work for you?  Go into preferences and see what happens.  You won't break anything.  If it doesn't work, you'll know, and vice-versa.
You should also know that ALMOST NOBODY uses Open GL to accelerate rendering, and that includes Adobe Employees.  The only time it makes sense is with a fancy third-party plugin like Particle Illusion... and even then, you'd better be careful if you stack effects up, because there are bound to be those that just won't work with Open GL.

Is there service pack available for weblogic 5.1 to work with JDK 1.4 for NT Environment

    Hi.
This is definitely not supported, and I don't know that any work is scheduled in the future
to support this JDK on WLS 5.1.
Having said that, I was able to start WLS 5.1sp12 with JDK 1.4 with no errors. I didn't
    exercise any features, however.

  • Any compatible USB 2.0 cards available for the video iPod?

Any compatible USB 2.0 cards available for the video iPod?
    Dual 867
    512 RAM
    OS X 10.4.3
I installed a TECHGEAR USB 2.0 card, the iPod shows that is active on the bus, but does not show on the desktop, or in iTunes. Epson printer works, but SanDisk does not. I have read about deep sleep issues too. USB 1.0 is painfully slow. After using FW to update our 15 Gig iPods for sooooo looooong this is one BIG step backwards. Dupid genius at the Apple store in Arden Fair said this iPod would work with a PCI 2.0 card. I am a little ticked after purchasing videos for my wife with the promise a card would work. I know, should have done more research and not asked the genius.
    Merry Christmas,

Well, I now have a working USB 2.0 connection. BUT!!!! The lame OS X 10.4.3 sleep issue has raised its ugly head. How about supporting long time users Apple? Let's talk about supporting third party cards. I run a TV station and love my Mac's, but this legacy USB 2.0 stuff just stinks!
WAIT!!! My Mac is only fours years old. Is that too old? I just want to make my dual 867 sleep! Why can’t I put make my dual 867 sleep after installing a third party card? All the new Mac’s at the station work just fine. Now convince my 62-year-old mom to switch.

  • Is there any thunderbolt card available for mac pro?

I have a blackmagic intensity extreme, which has thunderbolt port. But I am unable to use it with Mac Pro as there is no thunderbolt port on it. Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

HP is now offering a Thunderbolt option for thier Z820 workstation model.
Actually, no. That computer was designed for thunderbolt from the start. It is a feature enabler card, not an expansion card.
I hope this will change soon, but not soon enough to hold my breath.
There will never be a thunderbolt card for Mac Pros.
    Two reasons:
1- Even the 2012 Mac pro used 2 year old hardware, that means even the very last Mac Pro Apple sold last month used 3 year old technology. Its not economical to make new hardware for old technology in a very small market.
2- Thunderbolt communicates directly with the CPU, GPU and PCIe hardware. That means they have to be designed to communicate with the thunderbolt controller. Since thunderbolt was introduced in 2011, a full year after the last Mac Pro (5,1) was designed, its hardware has no possible way to communicate with it.
Thunderbolt is not  "an extension of the PCIe bus" like eSATA is an extension of SATA, its an entirely different communication protocol.
If it were just an extension, it would be far cheaper and easier to implement and there would be more than just a handful of products on the market that support it. Right now thunderbolt is making Firewire look like a runaway success!

  • No Airport software available for OS 8.6?!?

I have an original G3 clamshell ibook (blueberry, single USB, no firewire), running Mac OS 8.6. I recently acquired an airport card for it (just the card, no install software), which I have installed. I attempted to locate Airport software for it and found the relevant Apple support document at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=75422
This doc clearly indicates in note 1 that "AirPort 1.3.1 installs on Mac OS 8.6. Only the original iBook is compatible with Mac OS 8.6 and AirPort 1.3.1."
Accordingly, I downloaded the software and the installation fails with the message: "Airport 1.2 requires Mac OS 9.0.4 or later. Please choose a different destination disk, or perform a clean installation of Mac OS 9.0.4"
Huh? I have an original iBook, and I'm running OS 8.6, so why do I get this message?
I searched for other docs or downloads (or older versions of Airport software), but no dice. Am I therefore officially hooped?
I don't want to either shell out for, nor go through the hassle of, upgrading system software to 9.x. (If you can't tell, I'm not a techie, and it's for this precise reason that I'm a Mac user in the first place.)
Thanks for any help anyone can provide.
Original iBook G3 clamshell   Mac OS 8.6 or Earlier   Airport Mellow (not Extreme) card installed

Further thought: Given when Airport came on the market, OS 9.x was probably the current operating system, and Apple may not have tested Airport for use on OS 8.6, hence a 9.x OS requirement (whether truly needed or not). Thus, there may not even be any OS 8.6 version of Airport software; I haven't checked. However, unless Airport needs a specific system code which is not is 8.6 but in 9.x, then some to all of Airport might function on 8.6. I just read in another thread that there is a TCP/IP difference between 8.6 and 9.x, needed in networking, so that might be a stumbling block as Airport involves TCP/IP. Bottom line, unless someone posts with specific information based on experience about this, or you can google something, you may just have to do a trial and error test! Good luck! Airport is a learning experience and not a little "Airport voodoo" can be involved!!

  • Airport card(s) for Power PC G5 and Powerbook G4

I would like to set up an Airport base station to connect my Power PC G5 (dual 2 ghz with 5GB of SDRAM and OS 10.5.8) and my PowerBook G4 (550 Mhz, 512 MB SDRAM and OS 10.4.6). Can someone tell me what combination of base station (Airport Extreme?) and Airport cards would be appropriate for this setup and recommend a supplier, since I suspect cards may be hard to find for these older computers?

I would just add that either card - Airport/Airport extreme will work with any base that supports the 802.11 a/b/g and now n standard - basically all. You can buy an n with an eye toward future upgrades but I use an a/b/g Airport Extreme, several years old that I'm happy with. So, you can look at saving money and getting a generation obsolete if it's just for home. To put it into perspective, the a/b standards were 8 or 9 Mb transfer rate, IIRC, and the g brought it to 54 Mb. Consider the size of network and the size of your ISP "pipe" (ISP data rate) you have.
As far as Airport cards are concerned, the earlier poster is correct. I would just add that there are physical differences between Airport and Airport Extreme cards so they indeed are not interchangeable. The Airport - Powerbook g4 500/550, etc. - uses a card with an end connector, that is, a plastic socket perpendicular to the card which mates to an adapter bracket in the computer. The Airport extreme has an edge connector ("pin" lands right on the edge of the card) which slides right into a socket on the board. Your generation of powerbook would likely use the former (I have a pb g4 500MHz titanium which uses Airport; my pb g4 1.67 GHz uses Extreme).
Go to System Profiler/network/airport and that will tell you if you have a card installed and which one.

  • Airport Card options for 1st gen iMac G5

I'm about to purchase an Airport Express wireless-N to use as my access point. I have a Fall 2004-purchased G5 iMac. The original one.
Am I Airport Extreme-ready? Can I buy the Airport Extreme Card to get on the network wirelessly? The distance is way too long to run ethernet connection.
Alternatively...I have an old Airport Express wireless-G...could just use that as a bridge, plug my iMac into that via ethernet...thoughts?

    Hello,
Your iMac takes the Airport Extreme (802.11g) card available from the Apple Store. As you can't use N speeds on the iMac G5 why not just stick with the older Airport Express.

i want my credit card off of itunes account. my kids use their itune cards but for some reason my credit card keeps getting charged

On your computer's iTunes you should be able to edit your payment info by going into the Store > View Account menu option and logging into your account, and on your account's details page there should be a payment link.  If you are doing it on an iOS device (iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch) then try tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store (Settings > Store on iOS 5 and below) and selecting 'View Apple ID' on the popup - that should also give you a payments link on your account's page.
