Is there an adaptor I can use to listen to music in my car, is there an adaptor I can use to listen to music in my car

want to listen to my music on my iphone in my car is there an adaptor or speakers I can get

If your car has an auxillary jack, an RCA cable will work. I also have a little bluetooth adapter that plugs into my AUX jack that lets me do it over BT.
Companies such as Griffin make FM transmitters that wil allow you to tune your radio to an empty station and play your music that way. The problem is, in most heavily populated areas, there isn't much empty space on the dial.
If your car has a cassette player, there are adapters that plug into the headset jack of your iPhone and then fit into the cassette player.
Or, you could just get a portable BT speaker and stick it to the dash. The Logitech Mini Boombox is nice.

  • Can I use two  non-apple displays on my G5? Is there an adaptor for this?

I found a great deal on two non-Apple wide screen displays. I can hook up one to my G5 via the DVI port but can't use the second port--typically used by an Apple Display. Is there an adaptor that I can use so that I can use my second non-apple display?

  • HT204377 can my 2007 mac desktop use thunderbolt or USB 3.0 devices?  Is there an adaptor to let my old desktop run a thunderbolt device?

Can my 2007 Mac desktop use a Thunderbolt device?  Is there an adaptor available?

You're posting in the Mac Pro desktop forum. If that's what you have, the answer is no for Thunderbolt but yes for USB 3.0. Check out these PCIe cards for USB 3.0.
If you have an iMac, then it's just no as Carolyn Samit says.

  • How do I use the iPhone 4 charging station on my music player to charge my new iPhone 6? Is there an adaptor I can plug in?

    Hi
I had an iPhone 4 and purchased various music devices which I could use to charge the iPhone 4 and my children's iPods. The iPhone has broken and so now I have an iPhone 6 which has the new charging cable. I'd still like to use the music devices I have which are fine apart from having a different charging wire. Is there an adapter available and does anyone have a clue what it's called?
Thanks for your time and advice.
    C.

It's called a Lightning to 30-pin adapter, and is found, surprisingly, in the Apple Store. Choose your country.

  • Can I use an external bluetooth adaptor instead of the internal one?

    HI Folks,
I need some better range for some bluetooth to serial adaptors so I purchased a class 2 (or was it class 1? memory fading but the higher output one) USB bluetooth dongle which advertised as being Mac compatible. Unfortunately when I plug that into my mini (previous generation core 2 duo mini) I can't see that I can disable the internal device. It shows up on the USB bus but as far as I can tell the system is continuing to use the internal device.
Is there a way to tell it to use the external device? Can I crack the case and remove the internal module? I know the airport module is a separate card I can unplug but can I do the same to the bluetooth?
    Thanks for any suggestions!
    James

heh, so I should have just tried it again. Last time I did this was a couple of OS versions ago though I have no way to know if that is what did it. Upon plugging back in the class 1 external interface is now appears that my machine is properly using BOTH interfaces. IN the discover new devices screen it now sees itself as an option which it never did before, and shortly thereafter the previously out of range devices popped up as well. So in order to use an external bluetooth adaptor it doesn't appear you have to do anything other than plug it in. It did not do this the last time I tried though.
    In any case, thanks!

  • Can I connect and use a Dell projection unit..several years old...with my new Macbook Pro?  do i just need an adaptor for the multi-pin plug?

I would like to use my old Dell projection unit with my new Macbook Pro laptop, but obviously there is no such plug in the Macbook.  Is there an adaptor I can connect and make it work?  Without the old "F" keys, how do I get the Macbook to provide output to the projection unit?  I don't see an icon on a button anywhere?
Thanks for any help...  trying to become a good Apple user.

You have to determine what connection options are available on the projector.  You probably will need a Mini-displayport (Thunderbolt) adapter. that can accommodate the projector.
    Ciao.

  • Capturing  through Sony HDV using firewire800 to 400 adaptor is not recognizing can any body help me solve this

I am trying to capture using firewire 800 to 400 adaptor through a Sony HDV VTR. The VTR is not recognizing can some body help me solve this problem.
I am using FCP7 and IMAC with 10.6.8 version os
I dont have a 6 pin or 400 firewire port in the system

    Let's start with basics.
Does your computer recognize that there is a VTR attached?
    • Open up system profiler>Hardware>FireWire.  Does your machine show up?
If no, you need to figure out if the problem lies with the VTR, the cable, the adapter or your computer.
My guess is with the adapter. A number of people have expressed frustration getting fw400 device to work through fw800 ports.
If that's your problem, see if you can find an older Mac w/ fw400 ports or a dedicated fw800 to 400 cable.
    good luck,

ps - In "locking the barn after the paddle has been lost upstream" mode, this is why non-expandable computers like the iMac are so problematic. A MacBookPro with the expresscard 34 slot or a MacPro with 3 slots can work around these kind of issues. A closed box like the iMac is a dead end. Sorry.

There has never been a reliable firewire ---> USB adapter suitable for external high speed storage.  This was a major issue when the MacBooks lost the firewire port a number of years ago (Apple subsequently brought it back).
The only high speed port on the Air is the ThunderBolt port.  There are external ThunderBolt drive options out there, but they're somewhat more expensive than traditional USB/FireWire options.

  • What can I migrate from my 13" MacBook (white 2007) to a new MacBook Air 13" using an ethernet cable and a USB ethernet adaptor for the MBA?

I have, on order, a 13" MacBook Air (128Gb) and intend using Migration Assistant to transfer data from my 4 year old MacBook 13" (White) on set up.
I have ordered an Apple USB Ethernet adaptor and have today purchased an Ethernet cable.
    I will want to transfer;
Mail........Mailboxes, their contents and account settings. In fact the lot except the application itself.
Safari..... Bookmarks, Cookies, Saved Passwords etc. As above
    Google Chrome.........same
    Address Book
    iCal
    iTunes
    iPhoto
Documents. Excel, Word, Powerpoint & pdf's (a clean install of Office for Mac 2011 will take place on the MBA)
MacBook and applications are currently up to date and I've read about disabling the energy saver to sleep option.
Is it all that simple or am I missing something?
Can Account Information in Mail be migrated?
Will saved links be transferred in Safari (especially that of my ISP's customer area)? You have no idea what navigating around Orange France is like !
Sorry if I sound a little naïve but I'm English, retired and living in France and the nearest Apple Store is a 3 hour drive away so I'm doing it all myself.
    Thanks
    Richard

Use Setup Assistant when your new Mac first starts up.  See Using Setup Assistant on Lion (it's a bit more complete).
Unless you choose to omit things, that will set your new Mac up exactly like the old one, except for a few preferences, etc., that may be different for the different hardware.
If your old Mac isn't running Lion, there will be some other differences, too.  See Changes in Lion from Snow Leopard.

  • Does anyone know why there would be slight latency using a digital out (Toslink w/adaptor) to my amp, where I don't have latency with an analogue cable? Is it the amp that is causing the latency?

Recenty used a Macbook Pro with analogue out to my amp and there was no latency at all. Bought a new iMac and got a Toslink cable with adaptor and connected to same amp. There is slight latency using the digital out! Can anyone explain why? I don't really want to go back to using the digital cable because I have the surround sound setup that works well with the optical cable.

error: I don't really want to go back to using the ANALOGUE cable....

  • Is there an add on I can get for my early 2009 17inch that will let me use Thunderbolt connector?

Is there some sort of add on or adaptor I can get that will allow me to use my early 2009 macbook pro with a 27inch screen connected via thunderbolt??

NO!  Only the newer generations of MBP's have it.  There is no retrofit available.  Apple sells two identical 27" monitors, one with Thunderbolt connectivity, and one for the "old fashion" connectivity.  Go to the STORE on the web site and you will find the sepcifications.  Visually there should not be any difference between the two as is the price ($999 ouch!).
    Ciao.

I am traveling to India with my new iPad...to enable me to be online 24hrs a day to access my emails...do I just need a local sim card...also can I use a normal adaptor to plug in to charge or am I best paying for the apple universal kit....

If you have the AT&T 3G iPad then you can explore the SIM card. I'm not sure if India has the SIM network or another type. REgardless you should be able to access wifi.
HOnestly, if I were traveling I'd get a plug adapter from a normal retail store. You can get a good one for $20 or less at your local retailer, Walgreens, Walmart, Target, probably KMart though I've not looked for them there. Best Buy and the office supply stores may also have them. You don't have to pay for the official one unless you want to. (I have 'over the counter' plug adapters so if I traveled I'd use what I have not buy another)

  • Im going in europe , can i use my canadian ipad with an adaptor for the 220

    i'm going to Spain tonight
i bought an adaptor to the 220
can i use my ipad on it
my ipad is on 110 volts

Electrically there is no problem at all.  If you can read the printing on the charger (good luck!), you'll see that it works with 100-240V, 50/60Hz.  However, you will probably need a mechanical adapter so that the prongs fit into the receptacle.Apple has a travel kit that's ideal but there may also be less expensive solutions.
