Is there an add-on, that allows me to see my bookmarks on the new tab page?

I want bookmarks to be displayed in a thumbnail view.
I've tried FoxTab, TabMix Plus, New Tab King and New Tab Jumpstart. None do the job. They do the same thing in letting you see thumbs of your "most visited" sites but not your bookmarks.
Do you know of any add-ons that will allow this on my New Tab page?
Or a work around?

Hi, no idea on he Kanex, but as I recall the xBox only output Analog, the Mac only accepts Digital, does the Kanex convrt A to D???

Firefox, or probably some add-on, has changed what I see when I open a new tab; When I open one, there is a google search that is unwanted there!

That's pretty much it. The 'new tab page' now also shows a search in Google, even though I never wanted it too! It is unsightly and doesn't help me a bit. If you can help, I would be grateful. How do you create/add websites to the 'new tab' page?

I followed the help link you guys have already created. It instructs to go the 'show all bookmarks' window and drag an already created bookmark to a vacant spot on the 'new tab' page. This doesn't work for my PC as after i drag the desired bookmark, it just opens that page on the new tab page. Please help out with how to add new tiles to the blank new tab page.

You want to save websites in the Firefox tab page tiles,this is how I do it.
You have to have the bookmarks bar enabled if it's not showing in your
Firefox.Right click on an empty space to the top of Firefox & click
Bookmarks Toolbar,It should show under the address bar & search bar
like mine.
Go to what sites you want saved in the Firefox tab page,drag & drop the
site in the Bookmarks bar.Open the Firefox tab page,now drag & drop what you saved in the Bookmarks bar onto one of the tiles,It should work.
You can delete any sites saved in the Bookmarks bar,right click on it & click delete.
Sites saved in the tab page may need to be pinned if you clear cache,history & cookies.

Hello, I've recently installed Firefox on my new PC after giving Chrome yet another chance (I've had bad experiences with it) and after seeing crashes everywhere I just gave up. I'm a long-time Firefox user but I've never been able to figure out how to prevent the New Tab Page from showing the Browser's History.
Is there a way to make Firefox show Bookmarks and Folders on the NTP instead ? Also, is there a way to make the Bookmarks bar show on the New Tab Page ONLY ?

The about:newtab page shows pages that you have visited. So if you visit a page by clicking a bookmark then that bookmark will become a history item and will thus appear in one of the tiles on the about:newtab page.
If you want then you can customize the tiles and drag bookmark (and history) items in a specific tile to pin that web page to that tile.
You set the number of rows and columns that appear on the about:newtab page by modifying these prefs on the about:config page via a double-click.

My backround on the new tab page is gone. The boxes are there but I mean the actual background. It went away after updating an I wanna fix it.

How do I hook in to the "New Tab" page UI for the add-on I am writing?

I am writing an add-on called Undo Close, for Firefox Mobile. It allows the user to reopen recently closed tabs.
Currently, I provide an "Undo Close" button in the main menu (using the NativeWindow API). However, the ideal location for this button is in the BrowserTab UI. As far as I know, there is no JS-API for the native widgets located therein. How can I add my button to the UI, possibly using ctypes?

The 'New Tab' page defauts to 8 pages instead of the 9 before(btw I do like the scrolling, just not the width), is there any way to go back?

Hi Prism_Spark, in this version Firefox automatically adjusts the number of columns that fit in the about:newtab page. So, you can zoom out or expand firefox window and you can have more defaults pages.

I'm not really sure what it means. It says: Could not initialize the application's security component. The most likely cause is problems with files in your application's profile directory. Please check that this directory has no read/write restrictions and your hard disk is not full or close to full. It is recommended that you exit the application and fix the problem. Rename secmod.db (secmod.db.old) in the Firefox Profile Folder in case there is a problem with the file. 
You may have to rename cert8.db (cert8.db.old) as well. 
Firefox will create new files.
The file cert8.db stores user certificates and intermediate certificates send by websites, so if you have certificates that you want to keep then you may want to export them now and import them after having removed cert8.db.

Everytime I start firefox the web page that pops up is not my bookmark but the last web page that I visited before completely closing firefox. I have a bookmark set, so why is this happening?

I can no longer access some websites as they have a cookie limit and even if I close the browser when I reopen Firefox the website will be my main page with the cookie limitation still reached. My bookmark is not opening when I open Firefox.

Is your homepage getting changed to the same URL every time you open Firefox?
What's happening sure sounds like you picked up some Malware, , that you may not be aware of, along with a homepage changer of some type.

I used to have tabs that reloaded every few minutes, but I downloaded the new Tab Mix Plus and now it doesn't work

I used to have my tabs reload every 2 - 5 minutes. I downloaded the new Tab Mix Plus and now when I click on "Reload all tab: button I don't get the drop down box any longer.

I don't like the auto feature for new tabs. every website I visit ends up on the new tab page. I want to control what websites I want to add not Firefox.

Uncontrolled tab openings? Can't see a pattern. Allowed to run once, but stopped with 80+ new tabs/pages. Only stop by closing down my FireFox[ver 3.6.13] and starting over. Searched here uncontrolled tab openings but nothing found. Thank you.

Happens when seeking to forward something, email something etc. Then it is just one additional tab after another, until I select right top corner to close FireFox.

Is there an option to left click and open a bookmark in the same tab and right click to open bookmark in new tab?

I want to be able to open bookmarks in the same window without having to right click and then select open. I would like it to be like internet explorer where you have the option to open a bookmark in the same tab or new tab. I had downloaded an add on that solved the problem with a simple right click to open in new tab and left click to open in same tab. This makes things soooo much easier. Am I missing an add on or a configuration where I can solve this problem. Thanks for your time.

How can I add a link to the "New Tab" tab in Firefox?

How do I activate the new tab feature that shows a dozen favorite web pages? It works for a brief spell when a fresh FF is installed, then it stops working.

What I get on a new tab is a header that says: "You've opened a new tab" and a search box. But I prefer the FF feature that shows my favorite web pages when I open a new tab, but it seems precarious and a bit unstable. If I could easily restore the feature, I'd be happy enough. The Help information on this feature says to click on a button to add a web page, but I don't see that button on my FF 16. Also the Help page refers to "pinning" a web page onto the new tab page using a pin icon, but I don't have that icon either.

What is the value of the browser.newtab.url pref on the about:config page?

You can try to reset some preferences to the default with the SearchReset extension:

Note that the SearchReset extension only runs once and then uninstalls automatically, so it won't show on the "Firefox > Add-ons" page (about:addons).
