Is there an additional charge to use Skype

Is there an additional charge to use Skype?

Skype charges for some calls which you pay for in advance.
If you use cellular data, it will be subtracted from your monthly allowance and if you use more than your allowance, you will be charged for overages. Verizon does not charge you for the use of Skype, but it does charge you for the use of cellular data in the form of overages if you use more than your monthly allowance.

Is there an additional fee to use iphone 4 as a mobile hotspot?

Hi funsize1, that's a great question! Tikibar is correct that if you have a Share Everything plan the mobile hotspot is included and will deduct from your data allowance. For other plans, you'll need to add the feature and there is a separate charge. Let me know which data plan you have and I'll look up pricing for you.

When the regular customer service reps fail, try one of these:Send an email to the team at "[email protected]". Include:
        Account number
        Full name
        Service address
Best contact phone number and best time to call
        A description of the problem
One of their problem resolution specialists should contact you to follow up, usually by phone. They seem to be quite a bit sharper than the regular customer service reps.-OR-Use the feedback form at http://customer.xfinity.com/help-and-support/vp-contact-form.You might also try Twitter (https://twitter.com/ComcastCares/) and Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/Xfinity).
Comcast sometimes responds to questions here in the forums, and sometimes they do not. When they do the typical response time is somewhere between a few hours and a few days.

  • Is there an hourly charge for using Creative Cloud?

I was told by a co-worker that there is an hourly charge for using Creative Cloud, in addition to buying the year's membership. Is that the case? If yes, what is the hourly cost?

No hourly charge that I'm aware of, Creative Cloud Membership is a kind of subscription to products with some additional services, you can get a year long or monthly subscription. You pay monthly with both though.

  • Is there any way I can use Skype Number with Viber...

Hello. With my Skype Number is there any way I can use it with Viber? So I give my Skype NUmber to a friend and they add me on Viber? Or do I have to divert my skype numebr to my actual number?

Hi, if you give your Skype number to your friend they can make a Viber Out call to that number if they have some viber credit. Calls to landlines are usually cheap but it depends where in the world your friend is calling from.
Have you got a Viber account too ? Viber to Viber over the Internet is free, like Skype to Skype being free. Persoanally I have both networks now.
Viber is on smartphones, some feature phones and there's a desktop app too. Your Viber account is based upon the mobile number you register and Viber recognises phone numbers of your contacts to see if they're registered on Viber too.

  • Is there any additional charges texting a person in Canada if I have unlimited texting?

    Hey everyone,
I have a phone plan with unlimited texting, and I feel if I contact Verizon they're just gonna give me a super confusing answer. I was wondering if it cost any extra money to text a person's phone in Canada if I live in the United States (Wisconsin) and I have unlimited texting. Some results on this site say no, other's say yes.
I just want a clear, clean cut answer of "Yes, it will cost extra to text a Canadian person if you live in the US and have unlimited texting." or "No, it won't cost extra to text a Canadian person if you live in the US and have unlimited texting."
    Thanks!
    Hunter

        pugsarecool,
Help has arrived! What exact plan do you currently have? Is it a Nationwide or More Everything share plan?
In most cases, text messages sent from the United States to Canada are covered at no additional charge as long as you have the unlimited text message plan.

  • Excessive charges when using Skype to go

I have recently visited India and have used my Skype to go access number to call my Skype to go contacts in the UK using my mobile phone. On reviewing my mobile phone bill I have incurred charges of between £21 and £51 for these calls. I was under the issusion that Skype to go was a cheap way of making calls. Has anyone else experienced this?

  • Is signing up for Verizon Selects worth it and if so are there any additional charges?

Got an email saying I have points to use, but I don't want to sign up something and end up having extra charges or something stupid.

You are overpaying now by $10 on each smartphone. There is an off contract month to month discount on smartphones on More Everything plan.
If you upgrade, you are no longer eligible for the discount, so you price will be the same you are paying now $40 for each smartphone.

  • I would like to know how to use Skype on my TV to ...

What I'm finding out in the millions of Skype users is that there isn't anyone (so far) that knows how to use the Skype (which is installed on my SMART TV) to make a phone call or video phone call.  So, if there is anyone out there who knows how to use SKYPE on SMART TVs to make phone calls or video phone call - that would be great if you can help me.  I have awebcam which is compatible with my TV and can be use with Skype.  If anyone knows of classes where you can get training or online courses to help me learn how to use Skype that would be great.  I thank you for any response to this by sending an e-mail to [removed for privacy] .

Use of Skype on a smart TV may vary from manufacturer to manufacturer.  However the interface should be rather basic and easy to use.  I don't see how a class would be really necessary.   The process may even be covered in a startup guide provided with your TV.
Here's a link to a 2.5 minute video on it.  This one is specifically Samsung, but others should be similar.

  • Sharing a PPT - using Skype for teaching

    Hello.
I have an online teaching school, teaching kids in China with teachers in the UK.
I currently use Cisco Webex as its functionality for teaching is great, giving me PPT sharing ability and tools to draw and highlight on the PPT slides which is useful. BUT, the connection can be a little bad with Cisco, so I want to try Skype.
I want to know is there a way I can use Skype for the same functions as above ? I will only have up to 4 students per lesson. The most important functionality is to share the PPT.
    Thanks
    Craig

    Greetings, Fellow Teachers,
I am a former teacher myself.  I was hoping other Community contributors would join this conversation before I did!
The Skype client software does not provide a white board or writing tools per se.  What I propose is Skype's screen share facility, which for a group call up to ten (10) particants would require a Premium subscription.  The reason for this is that Skype considers the screen share to be a video feed, so a call with two people using their webcams + screen share = "group call" in Skype.   To take this explanation from a different angle, an audio call to single student, where you as the teacher would use screen sharing, would not require a Premium subscription.
Another note to consider if you choose to use screen sharing: the facility does not work like a corporate group document sharing platform.  Only one person (call participant) could share their screens at a time.
Here is a link to the libary of FAQ articles related to screen sharing so you can make an informed decision:  https://support.skype.com/en/category/SCREEN_SHARING/
I still recommend testing this prior to actually using for a teaching session.  by purchasing a Skype Premium "Day Pass" before purchasing a Premium subscription.  (Please note, the "Day Pass" is valid for 24 hours from the time of purchase.)
    Regards,
    Elaine
Update: Skype no longer requires a subscription for video chat up to ten (10) participants.  Therefore, the outdated portions of my post appear like this.

  • What is the additional charge on our bill?

My son had his mobile phone for one month and it dropped out his pocket while working and it was destroyed.  We had insurance on the phone and ordered another phone but this month there is a $199.00 charge under the One-Time Charges, and the description says "Standard Insurance Deductible".  My understanding was that lost or damaged phones was covered under the insurance that we had taken out.  Why is there this additional charge on our bill?

The phone was covered under insurance but you still have to pay the deductable for the insurance which is 199.99.   Its better than paying the full 650+ for a new phone.

  • Will my daughter be charged for using her iPod in turkey?

We are travelling to turkey tomorrow, can my daughter use her iPod touch without being charged?

There is no charge for using an iPod touch anywhere. You may be charged for WiFi connection, though, depending on the WiFi access point you wish to use. That would be completely up to whoever provides that WiFi connection.
    Regards.

  • If I enter into a 2 year contract, after I pay the initial $199/299, are there any additional monthly fees added to account?

I currently have 2 smart phones and 1 dumb phone on my account, the smartphones were bought in 2011 & 2012, the dumb phone is even older than that, so they are all off contract. I'm looking to upgrade 1 (or both) of the smart phones. I'm currently paying $40 access fee on each smart phone, and am on the More Unlimited Talk/Text/3GB $60 plan.
I was wondering, If I enter a new 2 year contract for a new phone, and pay the initial $199/299, is there any additional charges added to the monthly bill? Or will it remain the same as now?
Also, If were to instead go for the edge program, would there be any additional fees added to monthly other than the ~$33 edge fee?
    Thanks!

You are overpaying now by $10 on each smartphone. There is an off contract month to month discount on smartphones on More Everything plan.
If you upgrade, you are no longer eligible for the discount, so you price will be the same you are paying now $40 for each smartphone.

  • Do I get charged for using Itunes player or just for downloads?

    Hi,
I never used Itunes before.  I've downloaded the player, completed all my details - user name, email etc.  But the question I have am I charged for using the Itunes player or just for the download originally?

Neither.  The iTunes player is a free download, and there is no charge for using it.
You will only incur a charge if you make a purchase at the iTunes Store.
