Here's why there's is no Flash available for iDevices or other mobile devices. Adobe was unable to provide a product that was suitable to the needs of battery powered mobile devices used for Internet browsing. Existing Flash technology used too much memory, ate battery life, and was buggy. Simply put Flash did not work well on mobile devices.
Apple's Steve Jobs led the escape from Flash dependency when Apple introduced the iPhone, and later introduced the iPad. There was a hue and cry over the omission. Time proved Jobs was right on target.
So this is why there is no Flash for your iPhone or iPad or iPod nor for most SmartPhones. Flash has been abandoned by many sites in favor of supported technologies such as HTML5 or by providing their own custom app.

Now, you are not necessarily out on a limb. There are some apps that can display some Flash, but don't count on there ability to display anything using Flash.

Also, note that many sites that use Flash provide their own app for accessing their material. So check with your favorite sites and find out if "there's an app for that."

No - flash is not supported, and probably never will be (http://www.apple.com/hotnews/thoughts-on-flash/ and Adobe havn't created a version that works on iOS anyway).
Browsers such as Skyfire, iSwifter, and Puffin 'work' on some sites, but not all judging by the reviews. You might also find that some sites (especially news sites) have their own apps on the app store which let you get some of the content that you want.

Is there an alternative for Adobe Flash for Mac & Firefox

Running Mac OS 10.6.8 Snow Leopard with Firefox 13.0. Was notified that I needed to install Adobe Flash/Shockwave to see video content.
Have loaded and updated to the newest version as of last week but Firefox has become buggy, freezing up but my pointer will still move. I continually get requests from Flashplayer to store data on my machine. Continually get error messages that I have to click DISMISS and the it works normally.
Just a regular PIA. I have uninstalled Flashplayer and the problems disappear but I cannot access a lot of content, especially videos.
IS there any alternative for Mac?

Adobe Flash player now demands installation of McAfee Security Scan, is there an alternative to Adobe Flash player?

I do not want ant McAfee products installed on my system but now it seems that Adobe Flash player goes hand in hand with McAfee Security Scan, you can't have one without the other. What on earth are Adobe up to and are there any other options? Thank you.

Web designers are switching to HTML5 video, (MP4) which uses no plug-in, but for "legacy" content, end users will still require Flash Player.

Alternative to Adobe Flash Player for Macs running Yosemite

Is there a reliable and secure alternative to Adobe Flash Player for Macs running Yosemite? I keep getting websites telling me that I can see a video because my Flash Player needs to be updated. But I haven't wanted to install it as I've heard negative things about it and Macs. Is there an alternative to Flash Player? And if so, what is it and where do I find it?

Being that Flash is very insecure, I've completely removed it from my MacBook Pro. The best alternative is to uninstall Flash from your system and download Google Chrome as it has Flash build into it and you're not vulnerable unless you're browsing in Chrome. If Safari is your main browser, as mine is, then you need to open Safari Preferences, go to Advanced and click the checkbox for 'Show Develop menu in menu bar'. Once you've done this, the Develop menu bar menu shows up and you can click it and choose 'Open Page With' and choose Chrome. It is a bit cumbersome, but it removes the vulnerability when browsing in Safari as many sites are now using HTML5. Hope this help.

Feel free to try it out, but make sure you install it into its' own Program Files folderset and make sure you create a unique Profile for use only with Nightly. If the same Profile is used with both Release and pre-release versions problems sometimes arise after switching back and forth between different versions of Firefox. Basically, Nightly is like 18 weeks ''(at a minimum)'' removed from becoming a release version, but some projects stay on Nightly for a longer time as they are being developed. That happens to provide as many user / testers as possible, by not resorting to a separate development trunk version.

What App? From where?
You can only get Apps from the App Store. nowhere else. If you are trying to download form a website you cannot do it.
If you need Flash Support for websites, you can download a flash supporting browser from the App store.
Examples are:

Is there any timeline soon that apple users will be able to open things that need adobe flash player? I can not even play any games on Facebook, I can't open certain files, pictures sent to me or things like forms I news to see when I am not home

I am so frustrated about Adobe Flash player. I can not play any Facebook games, open certain files and pictures and documents that I need to access because not only does this phone not do it but my old Palm Pre couldn't do it either. I have had so many times where I needed to access things either online or via email, or message that I can not even look at because of this. I have to wait until I for home or ask someone else to do it for me which is embarrassing. I rave about my iPhone 4S all the time because it is truly great except for this. When it use to happen with my Pal Pre I figures once I got my iPhone that it wouldn't happen anymore but I guess I was completely wrong. I have had this problem for years and always get a message saying that it's being worked on. Well a couple of years is a long time to work on it. I understand about contracts and stuff but why is it taking a company such as Apple to be able to get it for their products? I get a lot and always want to play the games on Facebook but I can't do it on most of them at least the ones I have tried. So I can not play against anyone at that time I have to wait until I get home or use someone else's computer or something. Please tell me that in the extremely near future that this will not be a problem anymore. PLEASE!! I am sure I am not the only one out there who is having issues and if you do get it available please let there be an upload/upgrade for current phones and not just for future versions of Apple phones. That just wouldnt be very fair to all of your loyal customers and tell everyone to get your products because they are great and end up leaving this little problem out until they by your phone. Especially if they just got the phone they have. You guys are awesome with technology I have faith that you can make this available to all Apple products old and new by uploads or upgrades. FOUND A FIX FOR ADOBE FLASH PLAYER 11.9.900.152

I have Windows 7, 64bit and Internet Explorer 11 installed. I found the fix for Adobe Flash Player after 2 days of doing everything. I thought that the fix should be something very easy and it was. I spent 2 full days doing all kinds of ridiculous things, i.e. uninstalling, reinstalling, restore computer, deactiving XActive, reactivating, changing stuff under internet options, etc. The problem was Internet Explorer 11 update caused Adobe Flash Player not to work or recognize the flash player, or installing a new router caused it not to work. Websites kept displaying messages to download Adobe Flash Player when I already did. There appeared to be a conflict where some videos played and other did not. Youtube did not work anymore. All the problems that other people posted under these forums happened to me. I could not play the games I was playing before, etc. Anyway, I am NOT a tech person and understand little and almost gave up when by accident I found the fix and EVERYTHING works without rebooting anything, uninstalling or reinstalling etc. as all the people in the forums posted. Everything was so complicated!!
THE FIX: Go to Goodgle Chrome browser. If you don't have it, download it. The Adobe Flash Player is included in this browser. Anyway, at the very top RIGHT HAND SIDE there are lines in a square formation. Click on that and go to SETTINGS. Go to very bottom and click on SHOW ADVANCED SETTINGS. SCROLL DOWN TO THE VERY BOTTOM and click on RESET BROWSER SETTINGS. After I did that, EVERYTHING WORKED!!!!!!!!!!! Youtube worked, my game worked in BOTH GOOGLE CHROME AND INTERNET EXPLORER 11. It was like a miracle and a simple fix.
I hope I can save some people ALOT of aggravation and frustration. Adobe should have this fix displayed PROMINENTLY EVERYWHERE if it is indeed this simple. Let me know if this helps. All I know is that I had the same issues as everyone else in the forums and now it is all fixed. I have very limited knowledge, almost none. It just seemed that something was blocking the videos from coming up.

Thanks Mike. I'm not sure what I'm doing but I also re-downloaded the flash player and I got YouTube videos to play again. I have IE11 that I tried to uninstall (it won't let me) so I had to use a restore point, so videos I noticed in yahoo.ca can't play but I read lots of people having issues with this. But, by using a restore point, and re-downloading the flash player (a couple of time until it took), I got Youtube and my game back on IE11. I plan to use Chrome Google though after this experience as everything works there

Failure to install the update for Adobe Flash Player "A required file (:3) could not be installed."

I've bee trying to install the update for Adobe Flash Player for some time and keep getting install failed....."A required file (:3) could not be installed." Of course I'm going to the suggested installation problems website but nothing there seems to address this specfic failure mode. Can anybody help?
