Is there an alternative to the Creative Centrale software?

Hi all
The reason I ask is because I'm really struggling using it. I can rip CDs to the player no problem, but find it well nigh impossible to add music already on my PC to the transfer list. Plus it seems to take an age to load up and see what's on the player, whereas ye olde Creative Jukebox software which my previous player ran with was quick and so easy to use. Can anyone help me out or give me advice on Centrale that I may be missing? I've tried using Windows Media Player but find that doesn't work properly either, so it appears the only thing I can do is cut and paste music using Explorer which seems cack-handed and clumsy.
Many thanks in advance.

>Centrale is an absolutely worthless program...don't even bother using it. To transfer your files onto your Zen, all you have to do is:
. Put your files to be transferred into a folder...any folder...then open that folder.
2. Dock your Zen (jeez, that sounds dirty)
3. Go to "my computer" and click on the "my zen" icon.
4. Then simply copy and paste your files from your folder onto your Zen...works every time.

Is there a good apple based alternative to the persona finance software program "quicken for mac"?  It is a poorly supported program.

I switched from Quicken on a Windows computer to iBank on a Mac. It is a very good program, has very good free download connections to financial institutions (optional), and very good reports. The only negative is that it is just different enough from Quicken that there is a learning curve and the first month or two were frustrating -- but that is likely true of anything that you might change to. http://www.iggsoftware.com/ibank/

is there an alternative to the app clean master on android?

Probably not.  Unlike Android party Apps cannot access or modify the iOS core system to clean or purge or do anything to it.
Not that you would need it anyway on an iPhone.
For future reference, there are specific forums here for each device. If your question was relating to an iPhone you could have posted in the Using iPhone forum.

  • How can I re-install the Creative Cloud softwares on my new computer?

    Hello,
I bought the Creative Cloud softwares and installed them on my former computer (which is unfortunately dead...). My license is still activated but I can't find how to download them on my new computer without buying them another time.
    Thanks for your help.

The process will be identical as it was on your first computer.  Please see http://forums.adobe.com/message/4396277#4396277?tstart=0 for information on how to install the Creative Cloud applications.

I have purchased the creative cloud  software, but when I try to download it,it says trial expired and redirects me to purchase it.

Are you getting Trial Expired error message while launching CC apps like Photoshop , Illustrator.,...etc?
Or you are getting Trial Expired message under Apps menu in Creative Cloud ?
Are you using Windows computer or Mac ?

  • Is there any program in the Creative Cloud I can use as an alternative for Power Point?

I need to make a powerpoint presentation and I was wondering if any of the Apps in the Creative Cloud work efficiently for this?

Not really. The Adobe equivalent would be Captivate and it's not part of CC. Depending on what you need, you could creatively use Edge Animate, Flash or Muse to build a web-based slideshow and run it in fullscreen, though.

  • Is there a alternative for the filter oil paint?

Adobe remove the filter oil paint with the new version of Photoshop CC 2014... I use this filter a lot, is there a alternative?

You will find the Oil Painting Filter in Photoshop CC.  It has been taken out of Photoshop CC 2014.
So if you have Lightroom Creative Cloud, you should have both Photoshop CC and Photoshop CC 2014.
I have been looking for it for 4 days now, and I just found it.  I am so happy.

  • Alternatives to the Creative Cloud

With Adobe's decisions to force users to go to subscribe to the creative cloud, I thought it might be a good idea to get a list going of some alternative programs. I'm a designer working mostly in print with some web - anyone know of some good alternatives for these?
    Photoshop -> Gimp
    Illustrator -> ?
    Indesign - Quark
    Dreamweaver - ?
Flash - been moving away from that anyway
What programs are you going to look into to replace the creative cloud?

Outside of my day job, I consult for a small firm that specializes in the design and development of training materials for healthcare providers. We will not be moving to Adobe cloud based software and have been in the process of identifying alternative software. This was more of a philosophical decision by the owners and designers as opposed to an economic decision; we actually want to see Adobe knocked down a few rungs to facilitate customer patronage and competition.
Over all, and with the possible exception of Dreamweaver and perhaps InDesign, and for what we need and do, we are working smarter, will be working cheaper in terms of overall software costs, are no less productive using alternative software thus far; we are definitely less complacent in terms of what can be done, and we have access to some new rapid e-learning development tools. Pragmatically speaking, there is ample time to transition away from CS6 products (platinum collection in my case), and I would encourage everyone to give it a shot to the extent that is possible.
Adobe alternative software solutions will undoubtably vary greatly based on individual needs. I have pasted one of our original working lists below and there are many more options out there.
Acrobat - PDF-XChange Viewer, Nitro Pro, Foxit, and Formulate Pro
After Effects - Blender, Wax, Jahshaka, and Motion 5
Audition/Soundbooth - ProTools, Audacity and Cubase

Dreamweaver - KompoZer, SeaMonkey, Amaya, Flux, Aptana, CoffeeCup HTML Editor, NetObjects Fusion, NetBeans IDE, and Expression Web 4
Encore DVD - DVD Architect Studio and Bombono DVD (we have no had a training DVD request in over two years).
Illustrator - Inkscape, Corel Draw, Xara Xtreme, Sketch, and SketchUp Pro
InDesign - Scribus, iStudio Publisher and Swiftpublisher
Media encoding and basic editing - Sorenson Squeeze
Photoshop - GIMP, Xara Xtreme, Pixelmator, PaintShop Pro, Painter 12 and Inkscape
Premiere - Lightworks Pro, VideoStudio Ultimate, Final Cut Pro, Avid, and VideoPad Video Editor (ideoLAN Movie Creator and Avidemux for basic work)
    I hope this helps…

  • Wow, why does Creative Cloud suck so bad?   Why are there no FAQs in the Creative Cloud FAQ?

I am new to Creative Cloud.   I found some PSD event poster templates on line and I would like to be able to download some of these templates to create event posters.   I have modest goals.
    1) I found a link on the Adobe site for $9.99 monthly fee for photoshop + lightroom.   ok, seems reasonable to spend $10 for a month to see how it goes, I think
    2)  Once I get my CC account set up, there is no upgrade option or the $10 / month deal... only options are more expensive than $10 / month... but I can try it free for some time... ok I'll do that.  Hopefully, I will be able to do what I want to do with the free services?
    3)  Install create cloud app on my computer
    4)  click on install photoshop...   after 20 minutes only 3% downloaded.   darn!   Looks like I am not going to be creating any flyers tonight!
    5)   Is there something wrong?   Maybe I have done something stupid (I mean besides signing up for CC)... lemme check the Creative Cloud FAQ.   Oh!   There are no questions in the Creative Cloud FAQ.   Excellent...
It takes a special kind of talent to transform a potential customer who knows nothing about a product and turn that customer into a hater in one evening.
I just want to say congrats!

That's the page from which I started this troubled journey.  I clicked on "purchase"  and since I didn't have an account yet, it took me off to some other page to create an account, verify my email and all of that and then finally to a blank page... seemed like there was some delay from the time I created the account until the account became useable.   In the meantime I was continuously directed to a blank page every time I tried to log in.   After some time I was able to look at upgrade options, but the $10 offer was not one of my options.   Now, if I go back to the original page which had the $10 option and click on purchase, it seems like it is giving me the option to purchase.   The whole process seems very poorly designed and poorly executed.   Does the software work any better?
In any case, what I am looking to do is download some of the cheap or low cost event poster templates on the internet and edit them to create my own event posters.    I am not sure which Adobe application I need to do this.
Here is an example of the template
    thanks,
    David

  • It is there an alternative to the Test-SystemHealth powershell cmdlet for Exchange 2013?

    Hello
The Powershell cmdlet Test-SystemHealth, that was available on Exchange 2010, is no longer available on Exchange 2013.
Test-SystemHealth cmdlet gathered data about the Microsoft Exchange system and analyzed the data according to best practices.
Are there any alternatives to this for Exchange 2013?
    Thanks!

  • Is there an alternative to the black unibody keyboard?

I'm just about to try to swap my faulty unibody Macbook Pro and I'm wondering if there's any official or third-party alternative to the existing keys.
The machine I currently have needs a new screen (bad light bleed, blue staggered tint across the bottom, and dust under the glass), new logic board (black screen of death and very high temperatures), new DVD drive (fails to recognize any brand or type of blank DVD media), and a new keyboard (the Fn and left alt keys are both loose and pop off frequently). All-told, it's been something of a poor first experience with Apple quality control, but the support staff are understanding and helpful.
Well, at least over the phone ... the hard drive failed and required a complete reinstall in-store and the genius staff didn't exactly live up to their name, leaving me to troubleshoot and save what little data I could in target disk mode from a display model.
In the two months I've had this computer the black keys have worn out very fast. The keys appear greasy, but after repeated cleanings it's clear that the protective coating on the black paint has worn off, making a section of the spacebar and several frequently-used keys "shiny."
Thanks to those two keys that like to pop off frequently, I know that the new keys are simply frosted white plastic that's been painted black on one side. Eventually, with the coating now gone, the black paint will wear off as well.
Unless Apple switches to a different coating, which I doubt they'll do any time soon, I expect the same wear problem to manifest on whichever replacement Macbook Pro is sent back to me.
So I've been looking for replacement keys. Does anyone know if the white Macbook keyboard would fit into a Macbook Pro chassis? I've used the white models before and though they can eventually yellow, the keys tend to hide their wear much better than the black ones have. I'm going to ask the authorized repair shop in San Francisco about the possibility, but I doubt they'll do the swap under warrantee.
Or is there a third-party company that produces a more rugged key than the ones that Apple uses? Thinking a textured grey one or something. The current keys feel very plastic and cheap, much less comfortable than the older silver keys on the many Powerbooks and Macbook Pros I've been given for work.
Just curious. These models are still fairly new and it will probably take some time for third-parties to offer alternatives, but I'd love to hear if someone's found a company stepping up with plans for a solution to the problem. Or even if there's one that offers pre-cut plastic stickers to protect the keys from such early wear.

Hi, nbuubu. I'm using a clear silicone keyboard "skin" on my new MBP. I don't like the way it looks, and the feel of it takes some getting used to. But it's certainly protecting my keycaps, and no crud is getting into the computer through the crevices around them.
Actually, I'm not sure how much of the getting-used-to is necessitated by the "skin" and how much of it is because of the keycaps' very flat surfaces, compared to any other KB I've ever used. I'm accustomed to "dished" keycaps that help keep my fingertips properly positioned. I guess it's possible that there just isn't room for 3D keycap surfaces in the thickness of the MBP. And as I say, I'm getting used to these.

  • Is there an alternative to the ATV1?

When my ATV1 dies (as it surely will eventually), is there an alternative device or system available anywhere that will do the following?:-
Provide on-board storage of my music and enable playback through my stereo system.
Display album artwork/video content on my TV
Connect with airport express to provide multi-room
    Sync with iTunes
Allow remote control from an iPod or iPad
If there isn't, then my only hope may be that my ATV goes on forever (unlikely) or when it fails I look for a used one or an unused (new?) one if such a thing
is or will still be available at that time.
Hope someone has some suggestions, if not, it seems I'm pretty stuck!
    Thanks in advance.

I had the exact same concerns you have when ATV2 came out. The new ATV doesn't store all of my music for my house system, with all the benefits that brings. Apple was then offering "obsolete" 160 GB ATV1's at a special sale price. I bought one and am storing it for when my old ATV1 (three years old) finally gives up the ghost.
I notice that Amazon has some ATV1's for sale. The new ones are being scalped for more than they cost in the first place, but might be worth the extra money for you. They are also selling some refurbished ones for about Apple's sale price.

    Harder but fee, is Baïkal.
There are other options, and I bet you'll see a lot more in the future. The technologies are both open source which is why Apple switched to them instead of hanging on to their proprietary kludge.
Baïkal looks the solution, but do i understand correctly it requires me to have a Mac running as server 24/7? Rather than having my MacBook (which switches on and off due to the nature of working with a MacBook) do the job? As a simple end user who chose Mac for its ease of use, this seems an exciting path to go....
No. You can turn it on when you want to sync, just like when you turn it on to plug in the USB cable.
