Is there an alternative web design program to Adobe Muse that accepts .psd files?
I already frequently use Dreamweaver and Fireworks for web design. I do graphic design in Photoshop and export it to Adobe Muse to make websites. I've also used Word Press and Joomla. I love Muse; however, it forces me to flatten the psd layers first before importing. OR I have to use a tool that allows the files to go in Muse as layers but then they never end up aligning correctly. I'd like to design the web background in Photoshop and do the links elsewhere. I've ever tried to import to Dreamweaver, but it never works right.
Slicing was really designed for web use. Though I suppose it has other uses.
What you can do is move each part of the image to its own layer. Then in File>Scripts is a command to export all layers to files. Or if you have photoshop CC you can name each layer a filename with extension to generate individual images.

How do I check to see if my reinstalled CS6 Web Design program has been activated?
I installed CS6--from a trial download--on my reformatted laptop. I deactivated the program before reformatting the laptop. I then filled in the serial number from my purchased CS6 Web Design program. The trial version (which lists as CS6 Master Collection) started, but I get screens asking if I want to update my trail version. I can not get help from Adobe Customer Care (800-833-6687) because they do not support Creative Suite. I've been told that Web Chat is handled from the US time zones so if you're in a different part of the world, you may have to accommodate that.
Serial number issues cannot be handled in a forum because (obviously), you're communicating a serial number which would be broadcast to the entire internet. Also, few Adobe employees are on most of the forums. There are NO Adobe employees on this forum. -

I'm looking for help in finding the best web design program. I have no experience with the programming end of things, but I can design. I designed my site (www.silverboxcreative.com) in photoshop, and them gave it to a programmer to upload to the internet. I also played around with iweb. I think it's fine, but I have a feeling it will eventually have some limitations. Basically, I want freedom to change text when I need to, or upload some new info easily. I don't want to have to rely on sending any photoshop files to a programmer. Not sure I'm ready for a program that is so intense, but maybe something a little more upscale than iweb. Help?
SusanPerhaps the "something a little more upscale than iWeb" will be iWeb 2.0 coming soon in iLife'07. Consider holding off on a decision about other software until you've seen how Apple has improved iWeb during the past year.

Are there any good DVD authoring programs for Mac now that Apple has discontinued DVD Studio and iDVD? I need to make DVDs that have interactive menus and such (Final Cut X and Compressor 4's DVD option is a little cheap and doesn't provide any kind of professional DVD authoring). Any ideas?
This comes up a lot these days.
Practically speaking, there are really four options for the Mac platform: Toast (<$100), Adobe Premier Productiom ($1,600 to buy or $50/month to rent), find a copy of Final Cut Studio from 3rd party (+/- $1,000 new) or a boxed edition of iLife to get iDVD ($50 - $90 on Amazon new).
The other question everyone has is how many OS versions before iDVD or FCS breaks? No one knows, but Apple has said they're no longer supporting these legacy apps. Of course, no one is mandated to upgrade to a new OS unless they buy a new computer. So if it works on a system, stay with it as long as it makes sense.

Could you please let me know what error prompts on your screen when you are trying to enter the serial number.
Have you bought subscription for Acrobat, if yes then you might need to sign in at "adobe.com" using your Adobe ID credentials to activate subscription.

Adding web page in Adobe Muse that can be accessed from each web page
I have a disclaimer link at the footer of each of my web pages, I want it ot be accessed from each page. Where in Adobe Muse do I insert this page?
I'm new to Muse so two more questions for you all--
1. How do I add a drop down menu feature to my navigation menu to show the sub navigation?
2. How do I insert a Contact Form so that people can fill it out and send to us via email through our website?

I've used Canon's CameraWindow software for years to import large quantities of photos direct from my SD card, specifically because it renames the files based on date taken and nicely orgnizes them into folders. I save those to an external HD and import them to my iphoto library. Now after moving to Lion, CameraWindow isn't compatible because it's a PowerPC app I guess. I can't find any update via Canon. I don't really use any of the other EOS Utilities, I just want to be able to rename those files by dates, which is why I don't use iphoto to import and I've seen that suggested in other places. I'm happy to abandon Canon software all together if there is an alternative out there. Thanks for any suggestions!
Most professional photo management software can batch-rename files using metadata such as date, and can organize into date folders on import. I know that Adobe Lightroom and the Photo Downloader in Adobe Bridge can do this, and I think Apple Aperture and PhaseOne MediaPro can too. All of these programs are maintained for OS X compatibility better than Canon and Nikon software are.
Have you looked at Canon's camera software page? They have Canon software that works with Lion and later, the only question is whether the software for your specific camera has been updated. -
Web design workflow between Dreamweaver, Muse and Reflow?
Do these 3 programs fit together in some kind of smooth workflow or does each program represents a different workflow based on the designer vs developer involvment on a project? I guess Im just confused why adobe has 3 programs for designers to create websites in?

Edge Reflow is really amazing. It's an huge tool to create responsive webdesign. Insanely great, fun and designer oriented! I love it!
Muse is really terrific. Amazing. Another huge tool to create website for a designer! I love it too.
But the question is: why you in Adobe waste time and smart developers to develop a single app like Edge Reflow instead integrate it natively in MUSE ????

Build responsive website in Edge Reflow is great, but you can't add animation, plugin etc.
Build a website with html 5 animation, plugin, etc. is astounding in Muse but you can't build a real responsive website: only useless and ridiculous versions for tablet, phone, to point to specific url...things of 10 years ago...).
What the sense to have the useless Muse's Tab "Desktop" "Tablet" and now "Phone" if they don't control the main website (read responsive)? They are useless. It's like a Ferrari with the pedals instead an engine. Who use these tabs to build a website? Do we really need to build three website version and point these to http://www.myawesomesite.com/ http://phone.myawesomesite.com http://tablet.myawesomesite.com/ and drive specific version with JS.... in 2014 ??? Come on.
My wish:
These useless Muse's tabs should be replaced with the interface pieces of Edge reflow (the stretch system to determinate the size is really amazing). They are awesome and wonderful. After complete the job by adding some Muse's panels to replicate Edge Reflow functions.
No more "app juggling", tons of time saved, the best software ever to build website. The new version name? MuseReflow. Of course. Sounds good isn't it?
Come on guys fulfill this designer wish. Maybe for Christmas?

There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them: -
