The official standards are documented in the "Request for Comments," or RFCs, which are the repository of almost all internet "standards." Google is your friend here. What you're talking about building is a email client. There are many choices for email clients. A very popular free one is Mozilla Thunderbird, which runs on Linux. Linux has the building blocks for the underlying POP3 and SMTP protocols that you can use in scripts or even your own client, should you want to do something that can't be done in any of the already developed clients. From the Safari menu bar click View > Zoom In or press Command + on the keyboard to increase the size of the page.
If that doesn't help, open System Preferences > Accessibilty > Settings then select Zoom on the left.
You can also increase the resolution on the dislplay. System Preferences > Displays > Display > Scaled

Java API (web services) for exportMetadata and importMetadata

We ususally use WLST command : exportMetadata and importMetadata to export/import MDS. is there any corresponding web services or Java API avalaible for the similar purpose?

U can expose a EJB or a java class as a webservice in webdynpro and u can use it in webdynpro directly and if u want to use it through Portal u need to create proxies and do it.
U can go through this weblog which helps u in creating a Bean as a webservice.

Object ob[]=arr.toArray();
But i don't know abt vectors.
plz give me the example.The toArray() method is available in the List interface. SInce ArrayList and Vector are both implementing classes... they should have this method. In short, the same would work for Vector. Logical, isn't it?

Are there any API's exposed for SCVMM 2012 which can be accessed via Java?

I want to monitor the states of VM created using Hyper-V/SCVMM using the Java code.
I have read that for Hyper-V i need to use J-Interop to acess the API of Hyper-V.
Does SCVMM also provides API to get the basic information of VM ? If yes then is there any documentation to access it via Java.

THE SCVMM API is PowerShell.
Unless you want to also install Service Provider Foundation (SPF) in front for a web service.

Is there a volume control specific for Facetime?

I'm wondering if there is a way to control the volume of Facetime without using the main volume control (like how you can control the volume of Skype within the application itself). Some kind of separate application or tweek?

No, there is no audio volume control specifically designed for the Facetime application. I'm using Snow Leopard 10.6.8 here but I'm sure this info also applies to your osx. You'll find that Facetime is not nearly as sophisticated as skype, at this point in time.

One of my friend want to use a java web service, as he is not in my domain I am not able to give him web service developed on my machine. He is doing research on how sharepoint can use Java web service. Any simple java service doing addition calculation will do for him. But the thing is that we both are not able to find a dummy or study purpose web service on net. It will be great help if anyone has any link to such web service.

We also need a dummy java web service which is already existing somewhere on internet, uploaded for study purpose. This web service will be used for test purpose in application. A simple java web service doing addition or calculation will do.

We have a prospect wanting to see a proof of concept (and pay for it) of SAP -GIS integration using web services. No specific requirement. Fetch a bunch of work orders from SAP using web service and display on a map - can be the POC.
Please review the attached doc. Figure out whether any standard web service is available, if not a BAPI can be converted to web service quickly.

I have Firefox 8.0.1 and really need the 'web devloper' addon. when trying to download it, it says it isn't for Firefox 8.0.1.
Is there an updated 'web developer' for vs 8.0.1?
If I uninstall vs 8.0.1 and download an older version, will I lose my bookmarks, etc?

You can download the extension and edit the file install.rdf in the XPI file (ZIP archive) and change the maxVersion to 9.0 or more.

WEB Interface for Visual Admin

Hi,
I'm told there is a web interface for the visial admin tool which can be launched from the examples section of the j2ee home page.
In order to do this you must first deploy the tool.
I've search the net and marketplace for the tool to download and am unable to find it.
Has anyone else come across this before??

API to search for PIM items

Is there any API to search for an item in PIM. I have a requirement to search for item by Inventory Org, routing class, operation class and resource.

I am not sure or aware of any API. This should be falling under the catalog functionality.
But the functionality does exist in the front end in the PIM application (resp Product Information Management Data Librarian) there is a functionality of item search (you know that probably). You can explore the OAF pages and related VOs or implementations of that page.

I have to retrieve data from Web Server and display in my iphone apps. I want to know that is there any API through which i can connect my apps to server and get data.
One way i know that use NSURLConnection and get XML response and prase it and use it like that.
So anyone know this?

NSURLConnection is straightforward to use. In the mobile world, and especially if you intend to use certain google APIs, I would rather tend to use JSON instead of XML. A great JSON parser for objective-c is here: http://code.google.com/p/json-framework/

Display message on a web template for specific queries

Hi all,
We're trying to find a way of displaying a message in our standard web template (0ADHOC) in order to warn users about issues concerning specific queries (availability of data, maintenance...). So, we would like to establish one message for some querys and be able to display it in our web template only if availabe.
We faced this requirement with 2 different options, but none is working perfectly:
1.- Add a Single Document web item to 0ADHOC_HEADER web template in order to display a document related to our InfoProvider. Issues that appear:
    - Warning messages need to be suppressed because when query doesn't have a related document, an horrible warning message is displayed.
    - InfoProvider related documents need to be established for each calendar month, so we're not able of establishing a document that can be correct for all months on the InfoProvider. So, document only appears if user sets a specific calendar month filter. If he doesn't set any filters, document is not displayed.
2.- Use callquerydoc() in 0ADHOC in order to call query documentation on a new window when web template is loaded. Issues that appear:
    - If the query doesn't have a related document, we won't like the new window to appear (because it shows an error about not finding documentation).
    - No matter where I put the call to that JavaScript function, but each time you press a button or change something when executing the query, new window appears again.
Could someone give me solutions for issues of at least one of these two options?
If you have other suggestions to achieve our goal, please let me know.

Hi there, any replies? Should I summarize my question?
How do you notify users when data is not reliable? (caused by, for instance, data loading errors, query maintenance... so on).
I once used system messages (sm02) to notify all those data failures, but now we want the notification not to be global, but to be specific for some user groups (or query groups), and visible when they execute any query.
