Is there an app on the iPad that resembles Microsoft Office? I need it for school.
The basic apple equivalent to ms office is called i works, which has three components. Pages is word, numbers is xl, and keynote is powerpoint. There are many subtle differences, but the are more or less functionaly equivalent.
There are also a number of third part apps available to replicate office functions, such as good reader, docs to go, and my favorite, quick office. Read the reviews in the app store and pick the one that will do what you need.

I am trying to downloadapps onto the iPad we just purchased, and it keeps telling me that I need to authorize my computer. I go ahead and authorize by going into iTunes/store/authorize computer, I verify the information that is given. I go back and try to redownload the apps and I get the same exact message, this computer is not authorized for this device. What am I doing wrong?
I have been trying to work through this problem by myself and have so far downloaded the most current version of iTunes. Frome there when it tells me I have to authorize this computer, I had to not put in the iPad information, I had to authorize with my current iTunes information, and any iPad or iPod, iPhone information. I have several people in the family that have different accounts, so I had to authorize each and every individual account because I didnt know which apps or music was purchased under which user. What were you doing when this happened? Is it charged?
Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. Did you create a new Apple ID? Or did you update your existing one. Apps are forever tied to the Apple ID under which they were purchased. If you created a new Apple ID, you will still need to use the old one to update apps. It doesn't matter that the address is no longer one you used. The thing you want to do is change the Apple ID to the new email address.

iam looking for an app that can use voice to send text/messages its for a family member with physical limitationsI have the free version of this app that limits you to a 5MB file, but it does work. It requires iOS 3.1. I'm not sure how well the paid version works or what the limitations are.

If you are running iOS 6 or iOS 5, those apps are the recently used apps in the recents tray. You don't need to remove then from there, but if you want to do so, you have to close them. You do that by holding down on one of the app icons until they all wiggle, then tap the red minus sign to close the app. Do that to every app that you want to close. Tap the home button when you are done.

Is there a DJ app for the Ipad that will read the "start" and "stop time" setting for each individual song, as they are set in the song Options screen in Itunes? The Ipod Touch, by itself does not allow cross-fading, therefore when the stop time is edited short, the song jusst truncates then goes to the next song. I tried the DJay ap and while it would crossfade, it would NOT read the song settings for the stop marker. So now I want to try and Ipad and see if there is an app that will READ the Itune stop settings within the song. I do NOT want an app that will allow me to DO the stop marker. I want an app that will READ the stop marker from the song as it is set in Itunes.
Itunes provides the option for setting the Start and Stop times of each music track. However, the start and stop times do not synchronize to the iPhone. I don't understand why this option is even available as it doesn't work when listening to music on the phone. I have not found another application that will support the start and stop time markets. I have searched quite a bit for this but can't find anything. I hope we can find something.

WHen trying upload my resume on job sites I only have the option to choose from photo library. Is there an app I can get that would help with this or one that is like Microsoft word?
Since the ipad, and all apple mobile devices do not have the file structure like on a computer the sites aren't able to locate your file.
Many job sites and employers allow you to 'copy and paste' your resume into a text box on their site.
If they have an email option, then that would be best.
I'm not aware of an app the will allow you to upload your resume. But this seems to be a poplular queston so there might be something in the app store. -

I have created a PDF and password protected it for view. However, when reading the PDF in Adobe Reader app on the iPad the commenting and annotation options are not available. Is there a way to allow commenting and annotation in the app while password protecting the document?
Is there a setting that needs to be set to allow the annotation features? I set password protection to open and then password for editing and set it to Any except page extraction, but it still did not give the annotation option

I can't download movies. I'm taking a cinema class where I am required to watch movies. My professor provides the link on an electronic blackboard for the movies. I can't access the link on my mac pro notebook. Is there an app or software download that can help with this? I can access the link fine on a pc.
The "right click" is a function of the OS and those keyboard commands do not work on the iPad at all with the built in virtual keyboard. I don't use an external keyboard - so I cannot attest to the possibility of that working - but there are no keyboard shortcuts with the iPad keyboard.
