There are many apps that allow reading PDFs. GoodReader allows downloading some items. It all depends upon how the site handles the download. It also uses file sharing in iTunes.
iBooks also reads and had file sharing.

I am getting messages that I can't download and read .pdf files since I have the wrong Adobe reader. I have 5 computers running top end processors and RAM. By this I mean I have one, this one which I am using that has an AMD Phenom Black 3.2 Quad-core with 8 GBs of Corsair top DDR2 RAM, my other two AMD have either an Athlon II triple core with 4 GBs of DDR2 Corsair RAM, one with the Phenom X4 965 3.4 GHz Quad-core with 8 GBs of their best DDR2 RAM, and two Intels with the i7 920 Processors using the triple channel 1366 socket processors and one with 8 GBs of low latency DDR3 RAM and the other with 4 GBs of the same RAM. I am getting the message on this one, which has a fresh install of XP Pro X64 operating system, as do the other 4 as well. I have run Avast Business Pro Anti-virus on this one, which I am getting the message on with a single result which I deleted, and also both Spybot Search and Destroy, which came back clean as well as Malwarebytes Antimalware, which got a lot of tracing cookies now removed, and SuperAntiSpware which also found a few cookies also now deleted. Can you tell me what I need to do to get these files to show as .pdf files rather than as a clean blank page. One other issue is that I wish to know how to turn off my downloads so they are saved and Mozilla will give me the option of returning them instead of me losing them all together as it does now. Thanks for your assistance. If there is another Adobe reader I should download and install, could you provide me with the link to it? I appreciate your assistance here

Is there and ipad app that allows you to record and edit audio, but can record in the background? This would be to record voiceover auditions/podcasts while reading a script

Hi wondering if anyone might be able to help me out. I am an audio engineer and my wife is a voiceover artist. We just got the ipad thinking she could record her voiceover auditions on the go, but we can't for the life of us figure out how to record audio while reading a script off of her email.
Looking for an app that:
Either can record audio while in the background (garageband cannot)
OR Import text (copy paste I guess?) to read while recording
The app needs to be able to edit audio and export or email out an MP3 - by edit audio I mean trim, fades, and move around sections.
Anyone have any thoughts on how to do this? I have been looking around the web for answers for hours and can't find any. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi- I've done a lot of research in this area and actually am just finishing a book on this subject which will soon be in the iBookstore.
The best app is TwistedWave. It allows easy editing and recording, and also allows you record while you are in another app (such as a script your agent sent in your email)
I recommend MiC by Apogee as your microphone, available at the Apple store.

I am working on a project with two other people that uses PDF's that need cropping and saving as both PDF's and JPG. I know that both Photoshop and Photoshop Elements can do these tasks, the only problem is that I am working with others who do not have these programs installed on their laptops and neither they nor I have a budget to be able to purchase either of these programs. Can any one recommend alternative software (preferably Free or Open Source) that will allow us to get the job done quickly and easily.

The app is called Keynote Remote and is available for both iPhone and iPad from the App Store. This app can also run Keynote presentations from your Mac from either your iPad or iPhone.
Both your iPad and iPhone need to be on the same WiFi Network. With your iPad Keynote file loaded, go to:
iPad > Keynote > Tool Menu (wrench) > Advanced > Remote and turnon "Enable Remotes"
on your iPhone set up the link:
Keynote Remote > Settings > New Keynote Link and follow instructions - you will be given a set of numbers, enter those numbers on the iPad and you are all set.
