I think every app can read Arabic except for MS Word for Mac.  For example, if you use Safari to go to
    http://www.ahram.org.eg/
    can you read it OK?
Could you provide more details about what you are trying to read which is not working?

  • Is there an app to view .step files

Does anyone know if there is an app to view .step files. these are autocad files i believe.

Doing a quick google search found me this page which should answer your question.
The Mac products that support that format are
    IMSI TurboCAD Deluxe v6
    FreeCAD
    Best of luck.

  • Any ideas creating app to read log file when updated?

    Afternoon all,
I have been asked to write a java app which will read the contents of the server log file every time the log file is updated by the server. The app will be deployed onto WebSphere Application Server.
Can anyone point me in the right direction as I have never written anything like this before and I don't know where to start. Any help will be much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    A.

I agree with most of what you've said but unfortunately I don't have a say in what the company wants. However, I am interested in the appender idea, perhaps they may go for that if I suggest it.I'd say it'll take you a day to read up about Log4J and how to write basic appenders, and another day to write your own appender for this problem. Compare that to the effort of writing something to poll a log file, re-read it constantly and update another file, operations which will get slower and slower as they go along. That's a fair amount more code than a single appender would be. There's how to sell it to your company.
Can you give me a brief overview in how it works?Log4J uses objects called appenders, which take logging info - generated by your container - and do something with it. It ships with some appenders already in it, for writing to stdout, files, sockets and databases. You can also write your own appenders that do something more than these standard ones do. You write logging code in your application - in this case, your container already does this so you don't have to - and the configuration of Log4J decides what happens to these logging messages. That's what you're interested in. You could write an appender - a simple class - that takes raw logging messages in, and writes them out to file in whatever format you want
Come to think of it, depending on how complex the required XML is, you may even be able to do this without writing any code at all. You can write formatting patterns in the Log4J config that existing file appenders will use to write your XML files
A bit of an abstract explanation, I guess. Your best bet is to first ascertain that Log4J is indeed in use, and then read the documentation, which is surprisingly good for an Apache project :-)

  • HT5557 How to set Night mode on Ipad Mini iBooks apps when reading PDF file?

How to set Night mode in iBooks (ver 3.1) for iPad Mini?

It's not available within the iBooks app  for PDFs, the closest you can get is to the Invert Colours accessibility option  (though pictures will appear negative) -  you can set Settings > General > Accessbility > Triple-Click Home to 'Invert Colours', which means that you can then use a triple-click of the home button to go to white text on a black background.

  • Free software for .pps files

I've been using Microsoft Office PowerPoint but lately half of files freeze.
Is there a free software for .pps files?
    Thank you

There are free viewers available for .pps files.
Here is one I found--all you have to do is search for "powerpoint viewer mac os x" or some such variation:
    http://www.tonicsystems.com/products/viewer/.
However, don't you think it would be a better idea to try and figure out why Powerpoint freezes on half your files?
You might want to find Microsoft Powerpoint forums over at Mactopia and ask some questions there.

  • App that supports .DOC files?

Does anyone know of any app that supports .DOC files? BadReader doesn't. Box.net doesn't. Pages definitely doesn't. I am going out of my mind here trying to find something to support well known Word formats. BadReader says it supports it, but when I try to open the file it says that it can't read it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've read both DOC and DOCX files in Goodreader ... Either something is wrong with your installation or with the documents themselves, I'd say. You might want to delete and reinstall the app.
There also are 3rd party office suite apps that read DOC files ... Docs2Go or Office2.

  • Reading XML file from application server and  put into internal table-4.6C

    Dear All,
Is there any way of reading XML file from application server to SAP? I am using 4.6C. Function module SCMS_STRING_TO_XSTRING function module is not available. Please suggest.
    Thanks and regards,
    Atanu

    Hi Atanu!
Simply use the XSLT transformation 'ID'.
    FIELD-SYMBOLS <ls_result> TYPE ANY.
    CREATE DATA lref_data TYPE (your_structure).
    ASSIGN lref_data->* TO <ls_result>.
    CALL TRANSFORMATION id
                        SOURCE XML xmlstr
                        RESULT result = <ls_result>.
"xmlstr" contains your XML file. Just read it into it via standard I/O operations. "<ls_result>" will contain your DDIC formatted content.

  • Read a FIle using a Sender Adapter

    Hi Experts,
Is there any way to read a file at the external FTP Server without deleting or archiving it. I would not like to use the "Test Mode" processing Mode in the production System(  ) and also i need to schedule this adapter for 3 hours to read the file whenever it is generated  in every morning. This should be done only once ie.. one message to be created.
We are not using any content conversion.
In this case , we are not using any mappings but only retrieving the file from the external system.
    -Reynold

The scheduling of your channels would always help. Use Planning Availability Times to activate the channel at 3 AM and deactivating at 6 AM.
With the test mode, if you are sure that one file should be picked only once, then keep the poll interval as more that 180 minutes. This would ensure that between 3-6 AM, the file would be picked only once. After that the channel will get deactivated. Next day, refreshed polling will be started.

  • Is it possible to read archive files outside of SAP?

    Hi Experts,
I would like to read SAP archived data (*.ARCHIVE.ARCHIVING)  with non-SAP application. I already know, that data is automatically compressed (and maybe encrypted?).
My question: Is there some possibility to read archive files outside of SAP? I suppose that would be needed to do some decompress first.
Your help is appreciated. Thank you!
    Jan

    Hi Stefan,
Thanks for your reply. I found some points with your hint. Some summary for others:
    460620 - Migrating archive files:
"Archived data may have to be migrated. One solution is to perform an SLO service archive migration. You can also perform an archive migration for archive files using the Archive Development Kit (ADK)."
153433 - Access to archived data from other logical systems
"For data security reasons, the ADK checks whether an archive file was created in the same system and client where it is to be read. If the client, system or file key do no longer correspond to the meta data that were valid at the time of archiving, you can no longer always access the archive file, particularly for reloading. If only the system ID changes when a new installation due to a system copy is carried out, read accesses are still possible. No solution is provided in the standard system. The access to archive files from other logical systems must be taken into account and carried out in a migration project."
Unfortunately, I still do not know if it is possible to read archived data outside of SAP.
    Best Regards,
    Jan

  • Is there a usb port to download files from another person

I want to know if I can download a file from storage device inot an ipad?

You'll need to look into some sort of internet/web based file sharing. Dropbox, etc.
Also, if you don't have an app to read the file then it won't do you much good. FOr example, if you want to share a word document between devices, both devices need to be able to open the word document - because you don't save the file to your iPad to be opened, you 'send' it to an app that can open it.
