Is there an Apple Auto Respond to SMS??

I am a hairdresser and possibly made the mistake of giving out my cell to my clients. BIG mistake! Now I get text to book appts, reschedule and even silly questions all times of the day 7-days a week. Clients are not patient or understanding when I say I am not working. Rather than change my number or turn off my phone (ignoring them didn't work either) I am hoping there is an app that will allow me to set up a contact list and turn on an instant text respond mode. I know there are some out there but you have to jailbreak your phone, not an option for me. PLEASE HELP!

There is no such app or feature in the iPhone. However, in iOS6 (coming as a free upgrade in the fall), you can setup a "Do not disturb" schedule where you won't be bothered by anyone except those you allow outside of times you specify.

How can I set up auto respond for email?

    Hey there jimmac169,
It sounds like you want to have the Mail app automatically reply to emails that come in. You can do this in the app itself, but in order for the function to work, Mail needs to be open. Take a look at this info from the following article:
Mail (Yosemite): Reply to, forward, or redirect messages
Automatically reply to or forward messages
Mail must be open before it can automatically forward or reply to messages. If you want to send automatic replies when Mail isn’t open—like when you’re on vacation—check with the provider of your email account.
Choose Mail > Preferences, then click Rules.
Click Add Rule, then type a name for the rule.
Indicate whether any or all of the conditions must be true for the rule to be applied.
Set the conditions that determine which messages to automatically reply to or forward.
Choose options from the “Perform the following actions” pop-up menu.
Forward messages: Choose Forward Message from the first pop-up menu, then enter the email addresses where you want to receive the forwarded messages. Click Message, then enter any text you want to include with the forwarded message. For example, you could explain that you’re automatically forwarding messages.
Reply to messages: Choose “Reply to Message” from the first pop-up menu, click “Reply message text,” then enter your reply. Mail includes the full text of the original message in your reply.
    Click OK.
Carefully consider the rules you create. If they’re too broad, messages can be sent inadvertently or create loops (replies to replies you sent). If possible, test the rules.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the very best,

  • Auto-responder with an attachment?

    Hello,
I would like to set up an auto-responder in apple mail to send the client an email with a price list. The price list I use is a PDF that I made in Pages.
    Is this possible?
I have googled enough to know that it is not simple out of the box. My hope is that there is a way to use Stationary as a way to generate the body of the email with the PDF and my signature.
I am open to any suggestions
    Thanks

You could write an AppleScript that would create the message and attach the appropriate document, then trigger that AppleScript via a Mail rule. There's a basic AppleScript on this page:
    http://email.about.com/od/macosxmailtips/qt/How-To-Set-Up-A-Non-Quoting-Autoresp onder-In-Mac-Os-X-Mail.htm
that could be modified to attach the document you wish. This thread may also be of use:

    Hope this helps.

  • "fast auto typing" for sms & emails

    Hi,
My other half has a Lumia 800 and I notice that there is this "auto word type" facility where when you type the first few letters, the word automatically forms and/or you get a choice of several that are similar.
I see that this is for sms-ing - not sure for emails.
Is this availible for the new range of Lumias (620, etc)? And if so, how do you set it up?
    Many thanks !
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Yes it is and it should be there by default, so no setting up is necessary, well at least not in my case anyway.

  • Hyperlink in auto respond text

When you create text in an auto respond message (in preferences, rules, etc), is there a way to link a word ( you know, make it blue ) in the text that will, when clicked, go to a specific web page?
    thanks
    bl

At first, I thought this would be easy, but apparently it is not!
I assume you know that you can manually convert a word to a link in an outgoing message by first highlighting it & then selecting "Add Hyperlink..." from the Edit menu, which allows you to type in or copy a URL it links to. Unfortunately, this only works if your outgoing message is 'rich text' ... which is actually converted to HTML when sent.
I assumed one could just copy that (say by sending yourself a message of this type & copying its raw source text into the rule), but the problem is that Mail interprets this as plain (or literal) text, so your recipients would see the 'raw' html instead of the link-word alone.
It might be possible to do this with an AppleScript as the rule action, but I'm not even sure about that since I think it would have to operate on the raw emlx draft message file & convert it to a multipart message or do other fancy things to get this to work right.

  • Mail Rules Problem (Auto-Respond Not Working)

Hello there, I just purchased a 20" iMac and Leopard has been great so far. The only problem I've run in is that Mail Rules does not auto-respond but rather it will just send back the same thing that it received. Keep in mind i've been a Tiger user for 1 year so the settings shouldn't be an issue. Anyways here is how i have it setup:
    IF (ANY):
    ACCOUNTS
REPLY TO MESSAGE: (REPLY MESSAGE TEXT) =this text is not showing up in the auto-respond emails.
    Regard,
    Peter

I'm another one with the same problem since I upgraded to Leopard.
My auto-reply rules no longer work.
This is really going to be a pain as I am on vacation starting tomorrow through the Thanksgiving holiday and now I have no way of communicating this with clients sending me emails.
I also did a bug report. Hopefully this gets fixed FAST!!

  • How do i set an email auto responder for I-mail?

Help, how do I set an email auto responder?
    Thanks,
    Twosheels

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "I-Mail". However, there is no way to set up an autoresponder on an iPad. You'll need to do it through the server. For example, I have Gmail. I can log into Gmail on my computer using my browser and set up an autoreponse in settings.

My Apple TV responds to my remote by flashing, but nothing changes on screen. How do I fix it?

    Howdy there Nick,
    Greet
I would recommend these 2 troubleshooting steps.
First, reset the Apple TV with this process:
Restarting your Apple TV without a remote
You can also reset your Apple TV by unplugging it from the power source for thirty seconds.
From: Apple TV (2nd and 3rd generation): How to restart your Apple TV
              http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3180
And if needed, restore the apple tv with this article.

  • Time Sensitive Automatic Auto Responder

Is there a way to set up a auto responder to turn on every friday at 5pm until monday at 9am?
too many clients are wanting me to email them on the weekend.
    thanks

    From Mail help.
    Send automatic replies
You can create a rule to have Mail automatically reply to incoming messages. For example, you can set up a rule that’s triggered by a specific subject so that Mail replies automatically to all messages with that subject.
Choose Mail > Preferences, and then click Rules.
Click Add Rule and type a descriptive name for the rule.
Set the conditions necessary for the rule to apply to a message.
From the “Perform the following actions” pop-up menu, choose “Reply to Message.”
Click “Reply message text” and enter the text for your reply message.Mail will include the text you enter, along with the full text of the original message, in the reply that it sends.
Mail must be running to automatically reply to messages, because rules aren’t processed when your Mac is shut down or you’re logged out. To set up automatic replies while you’re on vacation, ask your account provider how to set up an out-of-office reply.
Carefully consider the rules you create for sending automated replies. If they’re too broad, you can send messages inadvertently or create message loops (replies to replies you sent). If possible, test the rules.
After a rule has processed a message, the message’s status icon changes to a gray arrow to indicate that a reply was sent.

SMS is a voice cell service and since the iPad does not have voice cell circuitry, it does not natively support SMS or MMS. There are third-party apps in the iTunes Store that purport to send SMS, but I have no personal experience with any of them.
If I turn my imessenger off, does this mean these won't go to my ipad?
If you disable Messages in the Restrictions on the iPad, then it will not be able to send nor receive messages. Or you can change the email address used for Messages on either the iPad or the iPhone. The iPad will then only receive messages sent via that address.

  • Send different mails automatically on different days-Auto Responder

I need to develop an Auto Responder application where my application has to send different mails to different types of Auto Responder customers. These mails should be sent to these customers every x days after their subscription i.e., once a customer has subscribed for this Auto Responder he will be recieving a mail 3rd day after subscription, then 7 days after subscription and then 10 days after subscription. This will vary on the particular auto responder to which the client has subscribed.
I got the suggestion that using timer and timer task classes in the java mail will be helpful. But can anyone tell me how to use these methods to send different mails to different customers on different days. I need it urgent.

    Hi
in the last reply, i mentioned using of timer and timertask classes to send mails.
I got ur problem. I believe the Days X is fixed for each auto responder. I mean for auto responder1 days are 3,7,10 , for autoresponder2 days are 5,8,10 ... etc
R u using any database, if yes follow Soultion 1 otherwise follow Solution2
    1)
    Create two tables in database
    table a is autoresponders table
    schema
    Autoresponderid
    AutoResponderDescription
    AutoResponderMailFormat
AutoResponderDays(comma deliminated numbers ex: 1,3,5,10.. ) ( i belive Days x is fixed and with varying difference, if it is fixed difference ie 1, 5, 9 with a diff of 4 then we need autoresponderinterval instead of autoresponderDays )
    Table b is CustomerTable
    CustomerID
    Customer Name
    AutoResponderID(Foreign key to autorespondertable)
Fill out appropriate responders data and customer data
Now almost the problem is solved.
I am focusing on main task sending mail
I have explained already how to send mail in JSP forum for your question. Please refer that.
Suppose we assume autorespondertable contains 5 rows.
and customertable contains 10 rows(10 customers)
    Now the logic is
Create a common TimerTask which has attributes same as autoresponder row.
Create a Thread(TimerTask in this case), for each row in autoresponder table(in our case 5 TimerTask 's are created)
Follow these steps(Implement the logic in run method of TimerTask).
    1) Read rows of all customers whose autoresponder is this id
    2) Notice there subscription date, do some work on that date and compare with autoresponderdays data. (suppose if customer subscribtion date is 20/07/2005, todays date is 23/07/2005, if autoresponder day is 3 , take the diff between two dates and compare with autoresponder date) if yes
Read MailFormat for that autoresponder and add customer name, blah blah, use JavaMail Mail api and send it . and
    3) Important this TimerTask must be scheduled for every day
i,e. Please have a look to my reply in JSP forum. It should be
    INTERVAL=1000*60*60*24 (1 day)
    4) it checks every day all the autoresponders
If u want me to write the code, i can provide that
    cheers
