Is there an Apple TV Developers program ?

Is there an Apple TV developers program similar to the Roku one?
If so how can we find out about the details.
(We see the Apple Developers program for IOS and Mac... but nothing for Apple TV.)
Thanks for any help.

Apple TV is iOS.
At this time, there is no separate/public ATV SDK.
Note there is a pre-release version of Apple TV (2nd generation) Software to be used for testing AirPlay with your iOS 5 apps. Please use the confidential forums created for that purpose if you wish to discuss further:
iOS 5 beta
Also, feel free to make feature requests via Report a Bug if there are future enhancements you'd like to see.

  • Is there an Apple program to "clean" my Macbook?

This MacKeeper program keeps popping up at me and apparently it's no good.  Is there an Apple program to "clean" my computer and make any needed fixes?

First, AVOID MACKEEPER LIKE THE PLAGUE
Why? Because it WILL BECOME a plague to your Mac if you install it.
Aside from Disk Utility's repair procedures, there's nothing in Mac that I know of that "cleans" per se like, for example, Windoze's own Disk Cleanup does.
CleanMyMac's a good cleaner-outer though. I've used it periodically for a long, long time with no problems. BUT.... if you download, install & run it, stick with the CleanMyMac defaults. Don't go going clean-crazy or you'll likely blankey-blank up your Mac's OS's system files. And then it's restore-from-backup-time. IF you have a backup to restore from.
I usually use the open-source Applejack repair & cleaning utility: http://applejack.sourceforge.net
It's used in Single-User Mode (Command-S at the reboot or the startup chime). Hold down those two keys until the Mac's GUI screen disappears & a scary-looking black DOS-like screen shows up & white words start scrawling on your screen. Then let go. When the screen writeouts stop, type in "applejack" at the prompt & follow the steps.
NOTE: The section to be cleaned that is *usually* most helpful to solving flakiness issues is the User Cache cleanout section. So though you don't have to enter your password, you MUST know what your Username's directory name is, *exactly,* because you've got to type out just that username.  In 10.9.x Mavericks though, you may have to type out the complete path to your User directory ([root]>Users>yourusernamehere
Good luck, Derek. I hope this helps some.

  • Are there any good DVD authoring programs for Mac now that Apple has discontinued DVD Studio and iDVD? I need to make DVDs that have interactive menus and such (Final Cut X and Compressor 4's DVD option is a little cheap). Any ideas?

Are there any good DVD authoring programs for Mac now that Apple has discontinued DVD Studio and iDVD? I need to make DVDs that have interactive menus and such (Final Cut X and Compressor 4's DVD option is a little cheap and doesn't provide any kind of professional DVD authoring). Any ideas?

This comes up a lot these days.
Practically speaking, there are really four options for the Mac platform: Toast (<$100),  Adobe Premier Productiom ($1,600 to buy or $50/month to rent),  find a copy of Final Cut Studio from 3rd  party (+/- $1,000 new) or a boxed edition of iLife to get iDVD ($50 - $90 on Amazon new).
The other question everyone has is how many OS versions before iDVD or FCS breaks? No one knows, but Apple has said they're no longer supporting these legacy apps. Of course, no one is mandated to upgrade to a new OS unless they buy a new computer. So if it works on a system, stay with it as long as it makes sense.
    Good luck.

  • Apple ios Developer Program membership error

hi i recently brought a Apple ios Developer Program membership but when a day later i got a email that said:
"The billing information you used on the Apple Online Store to purchase an Apple Developer Program membership does not match the billing information you provided during enrollment. Before your membership can be activated, we'll need a PDF copy of your government-issued photo ID."
I had a look at the billing information and what I think is the problem is that there is a couple of problems such as the name is my full name on one form and the short version on the other. Another difference is herts and Hertfordshire same county just the short version and the long version. And finally I put my town one in caps and one not in caps.
Most of these errors are because I used shortened formats of the names there was nothing wrong with my details but it got flagged up and now it says i have to send in id i contacted support about it but they havent got back yet
what do i have to do to fix it? if i contact support and tell them that all is wrong is that the names are shortened will they let me have the dev account without haveing to spend ages sending in my id?
    Thanks

If your application is held up, they have told you why and what they require to correct things, then I would say, yes, that is the ONLY way.  Nothing we say here will change that - we do not speak for Apple of the Apple Developers account managers, we are just fellow users of Apple products here.

  • I am trying to update to iTunes 10 to us my new iPad, but I can not remove a corrupted "apple software update" program... I can get everything else off, but due to "previous version" of software update it will not continue.

I am trying to update to iTunes 10 to us my new iPad, but I can not remove a corrupted? "apple software update" program... I can get everything else off, but due to "previous version" of software update it will not continue.
I stopped in to see one of the genius at the local store who referred me to "Windows Installer 4.5 Redistributable" (I am trying to install it on a Windows XP System)
The last version on iTunes on my PC was iTunes 7.
    Thanks for your help,

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Apple Software Update entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try installing iTunes again. Does the install go through properly now?
(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.)

  • Questions about the Apple Developer Enterprise Program

    Hi there,
i got some questions about the Apple Developer Enterprise Program:
    - is there a way a company can create their own "AppStore" with only the APPs the employees should use?
    - when I developed the enterprise app are the install files on a apple hosted server or do i need my own infrastructure to distribute my app?
    Thanks in advance for answers!

  • How do I get my files from apple's "Backup" program onto my computer?it

I just upgraded to the new operating system on my Macbook Pro. I had Tiger on it, and things kept getting messed up. The people at the Apple store recommended doing an "erase and install" so that it clears out all of the old program info. Prior to doing this I used Apple's "Backup" program that used to come with .Mac account to backup my information to my external hard drive. Now that I have the new OS installed I want to use the backup that I created right before I erased my hard drive to restore things back to the computer (Iphoto library, Itunes, files, Mail settings, etc.) I went to the backups folder and all I see is a bunch of folders. Isnt there supposed to be some way to put them all in their original locations? I need to get my Mail settings and bookmarks back from my Safari settings. I am really new to all of this, and thought I did things the correct way... but I am getting extremely frustrated since it does not seem to be as "easy" as the employee at the store made it out to be. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, you will need the Backup program along with the backups you created. Time Machine and Backup are not the same.
You can re-download Backup from your iDisk where you got it originally. It isn't available elsewhere.
See Mac OS X 10.5- When to use Time Machine or .Mac Backup to back up data.

  • Apple's Mail program can't handle junk mail

I've had this machine for almost two months now and I'm STILL having problems with Apple's mail program:
    1. It doesn't recognize junk mail. Although I've been in "train" mode for almost two months, it STILL doesn't recognize ANYTHING as junk mail, even things that are obviously junk, and even duplicates of messages already marked as junk.
    2. Although I've set my preferences to delete junk mail on exit, the program doesn't delete junk mail. It doesn't matter whether I mark the messages manually as junk and leave them in my inbox, or if I mark the messages as junk and move them to my junk mailbox, or if I just move the messages to the junk mailbox without marking them as junk. The messages sit in the junk mailbox until I delete them manually.
I'm EXTREMELY disappointed with Apple and Apple software and the fact that almost NOTHING works as expected or advertised. I have problems with Mail, Safari and iCal to name just a few...

I am not understanding any of these problems, as Mail marks Junk quite reliably for me (and I think many others). Also, no problems with Safari nor iCal here.
If you have Junk in Training, as you report, then this would explain some of the behavior. While in Training vs Automatic Mail does not create a Junk mailbox in the the account folder, and thus the setting to delete messages from the Junk mailbox would not do anything. If you have yourself created a mailbox named Junk, Mail would not use it for its own purposes.
I think there are a number of misunderstandings on your part (Junk filtering with Mail's own procedure vs manually created Rules for one), and thus I cannot easily tell what may do the most good to correct things.
    More info, please.

  • How do I put a recent photo on my Apple Mail email program?

    I am using OS 10.3.9
This question is for Apple MAIL email program and the emails that I send from my Desktop, not from the .Mac site.
Several years ago I did what was necessary to have my photo put automatically on each outgoing email that I send. (I realize that not everyone can see that photo; that is not the problem.)
PROBLEM: I now have more recent photos and would like to take off the old photo and replace it with a more recent photo but I forgot the procedure for doing this and can find it nowhere!
Please, can someone write down the steps that I must go through to take off the old photo and replace it with a new photo?
    Lorna

Dear Mulder — I went to the Help and found the following instructions:
"If someone using a .Mac mail account sets up his or her account to share pictures, when you view a message from that person in Mail you'll see the shared picture. The picture is not sent in the message itself; instead, when you view the message, Mail looks for the picture on the .Mac server. You can only view shared pictures from a .Mac account using Mail and webmail.mac.com."
However: Although I belong to .Mac and do have a .Mac email address, I rarely use webmail.mac.com. Any mail that goes there (almost nothing at all) gets forwarded to my Desktop email account. I use the Apple Mail program on my Desktop, not at the website. Would the the picture be visible then? If I send an email to myself I do see the photo... but am I the only one seeing it?

  • How do I get my email in Apple's Mail program from old drive to new drive?

I can not determine from Apple's support info how to export my email in Apple's Mail program from the old drive to the new drive.
The old 60 GB drive was at 55GB and had 3 volume structure problems. It would not backup all files using SuperDuper!, but I could backup the user files onto an external 250GB Tintanium Fantom Drive. So I installed a new 120 GB in the iMac and took the old 60GB drive and put it in an external firewire drive housing, which mounts, runs and will even act as the startup drive. I installed 10.3.9 on the new 120GB drive. I was able to export the address book over to the new drive with no problems, but I don't know how to export the email.
There does not appear to be an export function in Apple's Mail program (This sounds kind of ???).
I have a lot of email (#???) in a lot folders and subfolders (60) in addition to the inboxes, plus all the sent mail (2,000)

The Mail.app preference file (which stores all account information and general Mail.app preferences) is located at Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.mail.plist.
All Mail.app mailboxes and other data is stored in the Mail folder at Home > Library > Mail.
With the Mail.app quit on the new hard drive, place a copy of the Mail folder from the old hard drive at Home > Library on the new drive. If there is an existing Mail folder at Home > Library, this will replace it.
Place a copy of the com.apple.mail.plist file from the old hard drive at Home > Library > Preferences on the new hard drive. If there is an existing com.apple.mail.plist file at Home > Library > Preferences on the new hard drive (and there should be one if you have launched the Mail.app on the new hard drive), this will replace it.
Launch Mail on the new hard drive and the Mail.app should be completely restored or identical to the Mail.app on the old hard drive.

  • UDM and Apple Device Enrollment Program

Does anyone know if the Apple Device Enrollment Program works when integrating Microsoft Intune with SCCM 2012?  Seems all the articles I find only reference standalone Intune.
    Thanks!

No, not yet William. This feature was only introduced in standalone Intune in March. Currently features typically follow in hybrid 90 days later (we're told that this gap should be shortened soon). Although it is possible that this one may not make
it to ConfigMgr (I don't know the roadmap).
Have a look at the official Microsoft Intune blog describing March's new features.
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/microsoftintune/archive/2015/03/04/march-updates-coming-this-week-to-microsoft-intune.aspx?linkId=12671375
By the way the same applies to the Apple Configurator. There is currently no way to create Intune Device Enrolment Profiles in the hybrid solution.

  • Is there a version of PROMOB program for MAC?

is there a version of PROMOB program for MAC? if not, can I run the windows version, and what do I have to do?

    Windows on Intel Macs
There are presently several alternatives for running Windows on Intel Macs.
         1. Install the Apple Boot Camp software.  Purchase Windows
XP w/Service Pak2, Vista, or Windows 7.  For Boot Camp
4.0 and above you can only use Windows 7 or later. Follow
instructions in the Boot Camp documentation on
installation of Boot Camp, creating Driver CD, and
installing Windows.  Boot Camp enables you to boot the
computer into OS X or Windows.
         2. Parallels Desktop for Mac and Windows XP, Vista Business,
Vista Ultimate, or Windows 7.  Parallels is software
virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently
             with OS X.
         3. VM Fusion and Windows XP, Vista Business, Vista Ultimate,
or Windows 7.  VM Fusion is software virtualization that
enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
         4. CrossOver which enables running many Windows
applications without having to install Windows.  The
Windows applications can run concurrently with OS X.
         5. VirtualBox is an Open Source freeware virtual machine such
as VM Fusion and Parallels that was developed by Solaris.
It is not as fully developed for the Mac as Parallels and VM
             Fusion.
Note that VirtualBox, Parallels, and VM Fusion can also run other operating systems such as Linux, Unix, OS/2, Solaris, etc.  There are performance differences between dual-boot systems and virtualization.  The latter tend to be a little slower (not much) and do not provide the video performance of the dual-boot system. See MacTech Labs- Virtualization Benchmarks, January 2013 | MacTech for comparisons of Boot Camp, Parallels, and VM Fusion. Boot Camp is only available with Leopard or Snow Leopard. Except for Crossover and a couple of similar alternatives like DarWine you must have a valid installer disc for Windows.
You must also have an internal optical drive for installing Windows. Windows cannot be installed from an external optical drive.
