Is there an easy way to put dashboard icons on the desktop

I there a simple way to get dashboard widgets to the desktop. just new to Mac and learning

If you do a google search you should find a site the explains how to get the widgets to show on the normal desktop.
I've thought about doing it but then I said "The Heck with it".

No - that is nothing to do with iCloud - it is a way to transfer photos between devices, backup IOS devices and share photos
You must have your photos actually stored on a local hard drive - you may need an external hard drive if you have lots of photos

If you have a bunch of apps on one screen yunwantnto move to another as a group, create a folder by holding your finger on ne app until all the icons start shaking and show and "x" in the top left corner of the icon. Press again and don't lift your finger; move that icon with your finger over one of the other icons you want to add to the folder, which will create a folder. Then you can move the other apps you want to move into that folder. When you have all the apps you want to move into that folder, close the folder by tapping on the screen outside the folder. The icons should still be shaking. Then press on the folder you want to move and slide it to the edge of the screen, left or right, until the folder moves to the next screen. Once you get it to the screen of choice, you can leave the apps in that folder or move them out by the same process. When you are done moving things around, press the Home button and the icons will stop shaking. Now they will stay put.
Alternatively,my can sync your device with iTunes and move the icons around in the Apps windows in iTunes, then re-sync your device after you're finished. That will rearrange your icons on the device.

I have taken over my son's old PC desktop tower as it has more memory than my old PC. I installed iTunes on it and have accessed via my iMatch account my music library that's in the iCloud. I need to download it to the iTuned library on the desktop so I can sync my iPod. I can only see how to do it song-by-song, which will take forever for my almost 5000 songs. Is there a way to dowload the entire library in one fell swoop, letting it download without me having to do each song individually or monitor it?

Answer needs to be written for a user who doesn't know how to select a folder or a number of icons and email or copy them to something that can be emailed. The Simple Finder would be a lot simpler if I could put icons to open applications on the desktop instead of buried in a folder. Is there any way to do that? I'm sure there must be, but I can't find it. If I click and hold on one of the icons in the applications folder, it just opens.

If the icons have a black arrow bottom left corner, then the icons are just aliases, not the Application itself. You can move those icons to the Trash.

Why do some audio cds put two icons on the desktop

One says Audio CD the other says Untitled. How can I stop it from doing this, as they will NOT eject.

You can put them in a folder, you can hide them, they are all still going to go into your main messages folder. You can create a folder by pressing the menu button and going to add folder. However you can not reduce the amount of mail icons by having them all go to one custom mail icon.

Sure, just use any selection tool to make your selection. Here, I simply used an elliptical selection:
Then, use Select...Feather to feather the selection. I used 10px. Hit the Ctrl+J keys to copy that feathered selection to a new layer with a transparent background:

I just made custom tunes and a playlist on my laptop.
How do I transfer the playlist (with the new tunes) to my iMac?
Do I have to find the actual songfile on the laptop - copy to laptop desktop, then through "target mode" - copy to desktop of imac and put in library? Or is there an easier way???

The method I have used is to export the playlist on the first Mac, File>Library>Export Playlist, this creates a text file that you save to say your desktop. Then copy that text file to the second Mac and from iTunes on the second Mac import that playlist, File>Library>Import Playlist.
Note however this will NOT copy the songs from one Mac to another, but assuming you have the same songs on both, this method works well. If you dont have the same songs on both as you said then you first need to copy the songs manually from 1 Mac to the other, either through Home Sharing or Add to Library etc.
Easiest way to do that is to create a new folder on desktop, drag the songs in your playlist into that folder, copy that folder to your iMac then Add to Library from iTunes on your iMac & select that folder you just copied.

Yes. Applescript can run in the backgound. The applications you run also need to be able to run in the background. You need to run scriptable applications & avoid simulating the keyboard & mouse. You need to run commands that are in the application dictionary.

NO. You have to set a pass code.
