Is there an incompatibility between Gmail and mail 1.3?

I created a new Gmail account for my mother on her eMac running 10.3.9 and Mail 1.3
I followed the gmail instructions for smtp and Imac. I also tried setting it up as Pop, either way I was unable to send or receive mail.
Is there any special port setting required? any special SSL? It goes through port 25

I finally found the replies in Gmail help. There is no problem.
You need the correct ports.

  • Is there an incompatibility between iPad2 and outlook 2010 calendar? I can sync appts down to the device but not up to the computer calendar.

    Hi all,
Would you know whether there is an incompatibility between iPad2 and outlook 2010 calendar? I can sync outlook appointmens down to the device but not up to the computer calendar. The same occurs with my iPhone 4, can sync appointments down to the device, but not back up to the computer. Any help appreciated!

Most computer's USB ports do not have enough power to charge iPads while they are active.  An iPad will charge while in sleep mode, but very slowly.

  • Is there a problem between Keychain and Mail?

I recently added 2 more POP accounts to my Mail 2.2 program, and an additional POP account to my wife's Mail. My accounts all work fine, but my wife's account kept asking her for a password, which became quite annoying.
I searched Apple's online help and found what seemed to be the problem on a page titled "Mail 2.0 Help: My Password is not saved" (at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mail/2.0/en/ml1047.html ) I followed the instructions, verified and repaired the Keychain completely and when the problem persisted, I deleted the accounts, as suggested. The instructions said that messages wouldn't be lost, but all the sent mail is now gone, and only the past 3 weeks of emails from the inbox were recovered from the server.
Needless to say, my wife is very mad at me for losing many years worth of her emails, and the initial problem of unsaved Mail passwords still persists. When I checked Keychain again, all of her passwords have been deleted, and she is mad about this as well.
Doesn't Apple have a moral and ethical responsibility to publish factual assistance that doesn't make the problem worse?
Does anyone know if there are any tricks in Keychain to save passwords in Mail 2.1, or is there some sort of glitch in the program?
If I were to buy one data recovery utility on my limited budget (Disk Warrior, TechTool Pro, DataRescue 2, or FileSalvage) which one would most likely resurrect her old emails, and be most beneficial for routine maintenance in the future?

Thank you for your insight and suggestion to use Filesalvage for data recovery. I downloaded and registered the software and recovered over 1600 emails files stored on a 5G iPod in disk mode via USB. Unfortunately, the files are saved in *.emix but Mail 2.1 will not import *.emix, it will only recognize .mbox The FileSalvage developer suggested using a free program Apple used to provide for downloading at http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/unixopensource/emlxtomboxconverter.html but unfortunately Apple seems to have stopped distributing the program.
I did find another program named emix to mbox Converter which changes the file type to .mbox, and the files can then be imported into Mail 2.1 using it's import function (File> Import Mailboxes) The mailbox(es) should be imported as "other" files " (not as Mail for Mac). It took me quite a while to research andf sort it all out, but I think I have recovered almost if not all the emails. One downside is that ALL deleted emails, including deleted spam were imported so it took a while to sort through 1600 emails to get the 700 or so I wanted, but overall the software, and time spent was worth it. Of course, it would have been much better if Apple didn't recommend false solutions....
I still haven't figured out why Keychain won't save Mail passwords, but I may try talking to someone at Apple, and I will make sure to back up all files before trying anything they recommend. I have run Keychain First Aid (deleted all the passwords), Disk Utility, AppleJack, and Onyx without detecting any apparent problems, but Keychain still won't save passwords.
Thanks again for your assistance, David.

  • Is there any incompatibility between Labview 8.5 and Traditional DAQ?

Hi,  I`m using a DAQPad 6020E and the Labview 8.5 Daq assistant don`t detecte my DAQ when a try to create a new task (to create a new virtual chanel). But MAX detect the DaqPad. So, is ther any incompatibility between Labview 8.5 and traditional Daq? Do you know how can I resolve this?
    Thanks.

First, you posted to the wrong board. Measure is an old add-on for Excel.
Second, there is no incompatibility between LabVIEW 8.5 and tradtional DAQ. There is an incompatibility between traditional DAQ and DAQmx which is what the DAQ Assistant uses. Make sure that you install DAQmx if your device is supported by it. Otherwise, you will not be able to use the DAQ Assistant.

  • Link between Numbers and mail

Tonight, I was making an address list of Club Members, using NUMBERS, instead of a DATABASE. In one of the columns I was entering their E-mail addresses. Even before I finished typing the address, the Apple Mail opened up and was waiting for me the verify the address. It seems there is some kind of a link between Numbers and Mail.
Has this happened to anyone else?

Open your address book and drag a whole group into a blank space on a numbers sheet.
You will get Last Name, First Name, phone number and email address already in a table. Just add anything else you require.
Lots of neat shortcuts in Numbers

  • Possible consolidation incompatability between Vista and OSX ?

I want to use the same library with my iTunes sessions in Vista and OSX.
The library is located on an external HD.
iTunes is configured on both platforms to keep music organized. I used the consolidate feature to initially move the music from the OSX partition to the external HD. No problem there.
But then when I pointed my Vista session of iTunes to the new library, it wanted to organize the music again. Assuming it would not do much since I had just consolidated from the OSX side, I allowed it to proceed. Now most of the music on the OSX session has exclamation points, indicating that the music had been moved and the pointers are lost.
Is there an incompatibility between consolidation methodologies between OSX and Vista versions of iTunes? Is it not possible for me to have iTunes from differences operating systems manage the same library?
I appreciate any help with this...

    dbustani wrote:
So if I turn off "keep organized", how do I in fact keep things organized as I rip CD's from both platforms?
When you rip a CD, iTunes will put the tracks in proper "organized" (Artist/Album) location. However, the second iTunes will not know it is there. You can either (a) add the new files manually to the second iTunes, via File > Add Folder to Library, or (b) run a 3rd party folder-watching program such as iTunes Folder Watch that will add them automatically as they appear. Disclaimer: I have not personally used that program, so read up and make sure you are happy with it.

  • 'Is there a link between OLM and iProcurement'

I have been asked 'Is there a link between OLM and iProcurement'? The person posing the question is wanting to create trainers as suppliers and I know that the supplier information is shared between OLM and the A/P, A/R and G/L modules and I presume that the link to iProcurement will be via one of these modules however is there a more direct vanilla link between OLM and iprocurement?
    Any help would be great
    Thanks
    DM

I am afraid there is no link between the iProc and OLM.
The closest that apps can offer you is that your learner/delegates can be of type external i.e. being an Organization or a Customer. Hence there exists a link for your delegate to be a customer(hz_parties).
However this might be a future integration i.e. Trainers being suppliers. I am saying so because in 11.5.10 there is a table named OTA_VENDOR_SUPPLIES that has reference to vendor_id. Currently this table is not being used by OLM.
You may look into the code of packages OTA_VSP_API, OTA_TEA_BUS & OTA_PLE_BUS and see if Oracle's future functionality will converge towards your business requirement.

    Hi,
Deliveries that are created without reference to order , contained movement type because to process a delivery you need to have some of the control criteria that are copied from sales document header to delivery document header, as system processes delivery in that way ,that is why you will find default order type is assigned to the delivery document type ie DL. .which helps the delivery document to process without reference to sales document.
    In Addition to above information,
    In VOV4,
    DL+ NORM +   +    -DLN
    In VOV5,
    For Itemcatagory DLN+        --CN
From this schedule line category CN,movement type 601 is taken during without reference to order –delivery creation.

  • Is There any Relation Between PCD and SSO

    Hi,
Is there any relation between PCD and SSO, why because if i am try to connect from portal to R/3 in the user mapping i got one error i.e some pcd error.
pls tell me how to rectify that.
    Regards,
    Jagadish Babu Kanikanti.

    Hi Jagadish
The PCD is only a central persistance for storing Portal objects. There is no such relation between PCD and SSO that could create a problem. You can however check for the PCD error in this manner.
    1. In the system administration role, choose System Administration -> Support. The Support Desk appears.
    2. Select the area Portal Content Directory.
    3. Click on PCD Configuration in the test and configuration tools. The next screen shows all the parameter values currently maintained for the PCD.
    4. To reload the configuration, choose Reload.
    Hope that helped.
    Best Regards

  • I have a web site built by Yahoo Web Site Builder which does not have a Mac version, is there any compatability between Iweb and the old Yahoo program?

I have a web site built by Yahoo Web Site Builder which does not have a Mac version, is there any compatability between Iweb and the old Yahoo program? If not how do I clear off the old site so as to re publish with Iweb.

iWeb cannot import published files so you would need rebuild the site.
Yahoo hosting is notoriously poor and their tech support is awful. I would suggest you look for new hosting and start afresh. Some pointers for choosing hosting...

If you do choose to go this route, transfer your domain name registration away from Yahoo to your new host.

  • Is there a difference between AirPrint and printing via usb printer plugged into an airport extreme?

My printer does not show up in the add a printer option on my iMac when plugged into the extreme. I have a HP officejet 5610 All-in-One. I want to be able to print wirelessly using my Airport Extreme.  Thank you

Is there a difference between AirPrint and printing via usb printer plugged into an AirPort Exreme?
    Big difference.
AirPrint for one will not work via USB, so you will not be able to print from an iOS device like an iPhone or iPad using this type of connection unless you look at additional software....that may or may not allow this option.
Assuming that you get the All-in-One setup using the USB port on the AirPort.......only printing is supported.
You will not be able to use any other advanced features like maintenance, scan, copy, fax, etc when the device is connected to the USB port on an AirPort.
If you plan to use the HP for other things, I would strongly recommend that you connect it to your computer.
My printer does not show up in the add a printer option on my iMac when plugged into the extreme.
This usually indicates that your printer model is not supported. Check with HP Support to see if they have any updated Macintosh drivers for the 5610 that you could download and install that might allow this.

  • Is there a difference between Thrive and Excite power connector

Is there a difference between Thrive and Excite power connector? I am asking because there are a lot of Docks for Thrive 10" tablets....... If the power connector is the same, I should be able to dock my Excite 10" onto the same Dock, and purchase a similar poer adapter?
What are your thoughts - is it possible?

As far as I know AC adapter for Thrive uses 30W and Excite only 10W AC adapter.
Have you checked specification for both devices.
