I can't read or play music myself, and I need to help my son learn his notes. So I was wondering if there is an instrument that speaks out the note played?

    Unfortuantely, you can only track the phone if you had set up iCloud and enabled Find My iPhone on it before it was lost or stolen.  I don't believe there is anything that Apple can do to locate your phone either.

    The Ipad is on a short cable to my projector. I am usually on a podium 30 feet away. No infra red receiver on the IPad and
    the Iphone remote needs wi fi which is not always available in all the locations I do my teaching and lecturing in.
    If you can build a remote into the Ipad in the future I would really like to use an Ipad to replace my heavier lap top for business travel. Thank You Kathy McNeil.

    Is there a way to figure out the name behind an Apple ID?  My oganization uses an iPad as a kiosk.  Somone accessed the iPad, changed the Apple ID associated with iTunes, downloaded a game and set a password to lock up the whole iPad.  We had to completely restore the iPad in order to access it.  When I tried to upload a new app, a different Apple ID popped up, and I'm assuming it was the person who locked the iPad and downloaded the game.  I would like to figure out who owns that account, just so we can not allow that person access to the iPads anymore.
    Is there a way to do this?

    Perhaps with a court order because the person committed a criminal act. Otherwise it is doubtful that Apple would violate the privacy of a client/account holder just on your word.

    When there is an update to a newer version of a browser like this update to Safari 5.1.4, is there an article that goes over the best way to update to a newer version of a browser that one knows of? Is it best to close all apps, install the update, turn the computer off, turn it on and hold down the shift key until the gear and progress bar are showing, when this is finished, do a restart of the computer.  I hav always wondered the best way (if there is a best way) to update to a newer version of a browser so you avoid potential problems.  Is there a Support Article that goes over installing and updating to a newer version of one's browser, in this case Safari?

    The following may or may not apply to Lion:
    Repairing permissions is important, and should always be carried out both before and after any software installation or update.
    Go to Disk Utility (this is in your Utilities Folder in your Application folder) and click on the icon of your hard disk (not the one with all the numbers).
    In First Aid, click on Repair Permissions.
    This only takes a minute or two in Tiger, but much longer in Later versions of OS X.

    If you were having any serious problems with your Mac you might as well complete the exercise by repairing your hard disk as well. You cannot do this from the same start-up disk. Reboot from your install disk (holding down the C key). Once it opens, select your language, and then go to Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Select your hard disk as before and click Repair.
    Once that is complete reboot again from your usual start-up disk.

    Is there a program that works like the old iPhoto?
    The old iPhoto is my ideal program. Unfortunately, it does not work on my new operating system. I like having the ability to look over my images with a slide show. However, the new package folder does not give me complete access to my pictures. Is there a program that will have both slide show with music options, and the general folder for the files? I heard that Picasa was supposed to have a general folder, but it is using the iPhoto package.
    I have looked over the solutions to getting access to images from the iPhoto package mentioned in the discussion forum. I would like a simpler system that works like the old iPhoto. Is this a possibility? I do not feel comfortable putting my original photo files into a system that does not let me look at the file information, and I would like to have the original benefits of iPhoto tools.

    The current iPhoto is laid out specifically the way it is because of folks like you
    Since iPhoto 7 (iLife 08) the old iPhoto Library Folder is now a Package File. This is simply a folder that looks like a file in the Finder. The change was made to the format of the iPhoto library because many users were inadvertently corrupting their library by browsing through it with other software or making changes in it themselves.
    Even in the old iPhoto it was never correct to access the iPhoto Library Folder.
    However, the new package folder does not give me complete access to my pictures.
    This is untrue. Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
    There they all are.
    Standard Warning which applies to every version of iPhoto: Don't change anything in the iPhoto Library Folder via the Finder or any other application. iPhoto depends on the structure as well as the contents of this folder. Moving things, renaming things or otherwise making changes will prevent iPhoto from working and could even cause you to damage or lose your photos.
    I do not feel comfortable putting my original photo files into a system that does not let me look at the file information

    If it iwas registered to your account then you should be able to get it from your support profile : https://supportprofile.apple.com/
    If not then do you have a backup of the iPad on your computer's iTunes ? If you do then in iTunes go into Edit > Preferences (iTunes > Preferences if using a Mac) and on the Devices tab on that hover your mouse pointer over the iPad's backup : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4061

    Is there any way to swap out the 'Widget Note' icon?
    Not only is it bad artwork, I have a cool custom button that I wanted to bring up the Note widget. Also, when I put the Note Widget on top of my custom button, it blocks the button's glow for the mouse over state, wven when I choose the option of making the widget transparent.
    Any way my custom button could trigger the Widget Note to launch?
    Any help would be much appreciated.

    To use your custom icon image instead of default Note icon, you would have placed your image on top of the "transparent" widget.
    To make these objects available on click of some button:
    Group these two objects.
    Make this group invisible in output.
    Add the button which should trigger this widget.
    On the button, set the action to Show this group.
    To hide this group on 2nd click you need to use some advanced action and variables. Else, you can have a different button to hide this group.

    Apps on the iPhone are sandboxed. That means they only have access to their own files. They cannot see the files of other apps or of the system. This is for security reasons.
    There are some apps that present a list of files, like Air Sharing, for you to manage, but there is nothing like the Finder.

    No, there is no re-cycling bin on the iPad. If you deleted them from the card, and you havn't yet re-used the card, then there may be recovery software that you can get for your computer that might be able to get them back.

    When you are working on a picture in PSE, you can identify the sequential steps in the Undo History palette. (Windows>Undo History).
    Ususally, this is utilized to revert to an earlier enhancement. However, for your stated purpose, you could record the work flow with a print screen which incorporates the palette.
