Is there an iPhone app that will screen calls?

I would like to make it so that a certain number can only contact me at certain times on certain days.

Consider using a 3rd party service such as Google Voice (free). It offers good filtering and controls, including schedules that might meet your needs.
No 3rd party iOS app would be able to access the core functions of the phone required to do what you want.

  • HT2052 are there sources for apps that will run in iOS 3?

I have a 1st generation iPod touch, which I have upgraded to iOS 3.1.3, but it seems as though there are no apps that will run in less than iOS 4.  Are there any sources for older versions of the apps that will work?

There are still a some apps that will work with the 1G iPod with iOS 3.1.3. However, there is not way to search by compatibility. You just have look at the Requirements section for the app.
You can only use apps purchased from the app store.

  • Is there a remote app that will let me open and close programs on my iMac

    Hi There,
I know that I can use the Apple Inc "Remote App" to control my iTunes on my iMac - and I really like it for when I am not right at my computer, but I have to have iTunes open on my iMac before I can use it which is a bit of a pain to have to think "Am I going to use iTunes today?" or to run off to my office at the other end of my house when I decide I want music through my speakers and so my question is thus.
Is there a remote app that I can download for iPhone or even iPad lets you open and close programs on your iMac when you are not actually sitting at it. So say I want to open iTunes on my iMac i would do the following
1: Open the remote app on my device (either iPhone or iPad)
2: See a representation of iMac screen on that device (cut down for iPhone)
3: Chose the program I want (iTunes in this case) and it will open on my iMac allowing me to begin using the program remotely on my remote device.
I am not talking about remote desktop or anything here (I don't want to do complicated things on it) just be able to open programs like iTunes so I can have the music play through my home speaker system without having to have all of my programs already running on my mac incase I decide to use them

  • Is there a weather app that will show 12 hour temp forecast in a Glances view?

I've tried a bunch of the weather apps for the Apple Watch, and none of them seem to have the feature I'd like.  In the glances view, I'd like to be able to see what the termperature will be for the next 12 hours, in addition to the current termperature.  For example, I went to a baseball game last night and I wanted to know what the temperature would be when the game was done to see if I needed to bring a jacket along.
It would also be nice if all Apple Watch applications that supported Glances clearly distinguished their screen shot for Glances from the regular App interface in the App Store.  There are weather apps that have this feature in the app, but launching into an app is far less convenient than Glances.

Hmm. I think this is built in functionality.  I have the current temp showing on my Watch face. If I touch it, the watch brings up a round image showing the next twelve hours of temps. If you touch the screen again it shows cloud coverage/sunny status for each of those hours, touch it again it shows percent chance of rain precipitation for those twelve hours. I think this is what you are looking for. I find this easier to get to than the glances. Just a single tap on the current temp on the watch face. Of course this presumes you have the temp showing on your watch face.
Oh and if you scroll up it shows you the next ten days forecast.
Unfortunately they don't have a guided tour anywhere that I see for the built in weather app on the Apple website. But the screens are pretty nice. It's now my only weather app. All others have been ignored or uninstalled.

  • Is there an iPad app that will let me read a pdf be able to type notes that I can save as a separate plain text file?

In researching a subject, I would like to be able to read several pdfs in succession and keep adding to a text document where I keep notes.
I have seen iPad apps that will let you mark up a pdf, but I would like to have one text file that I keep all my typed notes as a compilation on a subject.
    desirable but not critical:
Ideally a split screen where you can have see the pdf and your notes at the same time.
It would be even better if you could copy and paste text from pdf into the note.
It would be great if you could copy a figure into the note (as I can do w/ la partial screen capture on my mac laptop)
I welcome your suggestions if you know of any iPad apps that you think would be useful for the above.
    Thanks,
    Kevin Lease

Go to settings> general and scroll down to multitasking geastures, turn them on and by swiping with four fingers from the right side of the iPad to the left and back you can switch between apps. I think this is what you need I'm not sure, I hope it helps

  • Is there a an app that will filter/block unwanted sms messages?

Hi i hope i have put this in the right section but this is my first post so be gentle if i haven't !
i recently had a nokia n97 (i know wash my mouth out with soap for saying it !) now the phone was cr*p very slow and the charger went up in smoke after 10 days so it went back and i got an i-phone which i should have done in the first place as it is 100% better!
the only thing that was good for the n97 was there was an app that would filter unwanted sms messages
basically you had a "black list " of phone no's or you set it to only accept from contacts list then the app just filtered the sms messages from anywhere else
i cant find anything even remotly similar for the iphone does anyone know of one?

Well in the US on AT&T you can. AT&T has a website (mymessages.wireless.att.com), here you get a limited ability to block SMS. This feature is not highly publicized for obvious reasons. Contact your carrier and see if they have a similar service, many do, they just to publicize such.

  • Is there a calendar app that will sync HTC one, android Samsuhg tablet and a PC?

Looking for a calendar app that will sync an HTC one M8, a Samsung android Tablet and a desktop PC? If I put an event in one it will find it in the other?

Just make sure you are selecting the gmail address as the place to create the event.  Otherwise it will only be saved to the phone.
For example, my Gmail/Google calendar currently syncs between the PC/Web, android phone backup android phone and two tablets.

  • IPhone app that will lock SMS app?

I'm looking for an app that will lock the SMS app down with a password? I know you can lock the whole phone down but a friend is looking to secure the SMS app as a friend of his had his phone abused by another.
I searched the app store and couldn't find anything. Any ideas?

I don't think Apple will allow 3rd party developers to create a new SMS app to replace their native SMS client because it duplicates functionality of their SMS app.

  • Is there an iPhone app that shows who in our contacts has an iPhone?

I know this sounds weird but I think it might be really handy

I am not sure how handy it would be to know only if they have an iPhone. I can understand knowing if someone has an iPhone 4 for doing FaceTime, or has a specific app that would connect between two iPhones.
iMessages which is coming in iOS 5 will identify if a contact is also running iOS 5 since it provides enhanced functionality between iOS devices.

  • Is it possible to develop an Iphone App that will run a .jar on the users PC? (the APP's only goal is to distribute what is actually a java program for a PC)

So yeah, I've built myself a killer tool for PC's. And in my search for a nice way to distribute this must-have tool, I am considering using the Istore. Hence, my question.
What I am looking for is a simple App, and all it does is put this .jar file on the users PC. And maybe activate it too, so that the user doesnt have to double click it. And OK, maybe first check whether the user's got java installed, and otherwise prompt him to do so.
Would this be possible? Is there anyone who would like to do this for me? If so I'd be glad to hear at what cost?
    Regards,
    Olivier

Since the only connection between the PC and the iPhone is through iTunes, no.

  • Is there a timer app that will log into iCal?

There are a million timer aps, and project management apps, and other variations on time logs.  But I have been unable to find one that does precisely what I want to do.
Start a timer on my iPhone when I begin work on a discrete project.
Stop the timer when I stop work.
Have an iCal entry created on my iPhone calendar which indicates that block of time.
I do NOT need to manage a large number of projects, create complex reports, do billing, or anything like that.  I am just looking for a way to be able to open iCal and get a visual assessment of when and how much time I am actually devoting to three-five priority areas.
Here is what I have been able to find and do NOT want:
Manually creating iCal entries with start and stop times, that the app can then aggregate and report time spent.
A timer that creates a separate log or standalone calendar - completely removed from iCal.
If I start working on a goal area at 3:15pm and stop 90 minutes later, I want to be able to start the timer.  Stop the timer.  And have an iCal entry that starts at 3:15pm and ends at 4:45pm automatically created in iCal.
    Can anyone make any suggestions.

Aaaah ... I found that setting now.  Thank you.
    This may do the trick.
I suspect the app developer is a non-English speaker. The support page is on Japanese and there is no reference to the calendar functionality in the store description. It looked like an Evernote-only add-in. I never would have found it without you. Thanks again.

  • My camera shutter is frozen on my 4S and i use camera apps to take regular pictures. Is there a facetime app that will force these cameras to work? or is there a resolution to my camera issue?

My camera shutter is frozen on my 4S. Some camera apps work, but is there a solution to this? I hate not having FaceTime.

Basics frrom the manual are restart, reset, restore.
Have you tired each of these?

  • Is there any app that will  let me  listen music through bluetooth headset

Is there any Iphone App that will let me listen music through my bluetooth headset.

No. There is no FM tuner in the phone. The audio from the TVs in the gym is broadcast over FM radio frequencies, they are not piping it out over the Internet. If there was an app that would let you listen to them, it would be specific to your gym.
