Is there an issue with iCal at the moment?

Hello everyone
I have sent a variety of iCal invite over the last couple of days - and when they are opened by recipients - it's for a totally different appointment (and usually not meant for them!)
This is not just my computer - people in my organisation are all experiencing the same thing. Note, we don't use a server and 95% of us use a MacBook Pro or MacBook Air. It's very odd...

1. OK, a language problem :
iOS is the Operating System on iPhone, iPad.
OS is the Operating System on a Mac computer (iMac, MacBookPro, MacBookAir).
At the bottom of your first message is "MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.6)", which is information that you put in when opening a "profile" when you decided to participate in the Apple Discussion Forum and posted your question, click on your name (the blue lettering above your message and you will go to your profile.
2. Click the little apple icon on the left above side in the top menubar, then choose "about this mac": you will see a short description of your mac: MacbookPro probably, in that field you also see the Operating System name and version, if not click "more info". Give us here the info, about your mac and your operating system.
3. the two links that I gave you are well readable, look to the passages that refer to your operating system and do what it describes.
4. Can you disable SpamSieve for the moment, to see if that helps, if you can not disable it, uninstall it (you may always reinstall).

Is there a problem with skype at the moment?

Hello folks.
I'm running a G4 and 10.411 using an old version of skype with a software patch that I found in one of the skype topics on this site. It has been working fine for months now. I don't use video just audio. I have a subscription to call land lines. The problem I am having is that I can call out and hear the person I am calling, but they can't hear me. Is there a problem with skype today? Or have they made changes as of today that do not permit people to use the patch and an old version of skype? Any information would be much appreciated.

The problem has seemed to have gone away. The problem started yesterday on two different computers. Today, on one of the computers I ran a utility called Mcjanitor that I had installed years ago but very rarely ran it. I neglected to try skype prior to running the utility. On computer #2 I tried booting from an old utility disk called techtoolpro. I was unable to boot from the disk after several attempts and restarts. Both computers are running better and skype now works again on both. I sent an email earlier today to a tech support guy from my ISP about my recent problems with skype. In conclusion I can't explain why skype now works on both computers. I can only guess that I reset something when I used (attempted to use) a utility disk. The other possibility is that my ISP guy did something on his end. Or, lastly, that skype had problems that were remedied by skype today.

I am currently running iOS 5 on my iphone 4S, is there any issue with the battery life if I update my phone software to iOS 6?

I need help on this matter, this is the only thing that is keeping me from installing iOS 6. Also, how can I save my data, apps and other stuff that I already installed on iOS5? Also, if I create another apple ID, will my data, apps etc be lost, do I have to download the stuff again? Help me out!!

Migration should never be done with any Adobe program.
If you have done Migration, you have to UNINSTALL first (if even possible) and then download Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool and run that also. When this is done, restart your computer and install the programs from an original Adobe Installer.
Other question is, if your OS is supporting that version. You can try it, it is not officially supported, but it might work.
But CC will work, upgrade to CC2014 (without additional cost), use that as it is better anyway.

It may just be the power cord (between the mains and the computer). If you have an Apple store or Authorised store near you, take the cord in and check it out. Indeed, check if it has been partly pulled out by pressing it firmly into the back of the computer.

Is the Time Capsule wi-fi router compatible with the Nest thermostat? I've read where there are issues with the Nest and Airport Extreme (AE)? Is AE used in the Time Capsule?

If so, i already have a wi-fi router, so can the Time Capsule simply be used for wireless backup instead of as a router if there is conflict?

A TC is fundamentally a AE with a sata chip included to drive the hard disk. Some slightly different bios to include disk functions, although most of those are also on the AE. So as a router it is 99.999% identical.
And yes, if you have another router you can easily bridge the TC and use wireless for backups and internet connection. Once you no longer route through the TC the issues with most NAT problems including port forwarding should disappear.. mostly this is due to all apple routers using NAT-PMP instead of upnp which is the near universal standard for opening ports.. without upnp apple keep their routers more exclusive.

I have run into a peculiar problem with the Safari browser on mobile platforms (IPad, IPod, IPhone) which I hope I can find a solution for in this community.

On this particular product, the product variants are supposed to work in such a way where:
If you select the value "1/8" from the "Choose Ribbon Width" field
THEN
The only options active and available to choose from in the "Choose Roll Size" field should be: 500 Yds, 20 Yds & Sample Swatch
Now, if we browse to the above link in Safari using a desktop or a laptop, there are no problems at all, but if we browse to the above link using an IPhone or an Ipad, then we have a problem where all the options are available regardless of the values chosen, basically the above functonality does not work.

Hello all
Got an iMac since January 2008 and I do like it a lot, even though it has some issues:
-- It displays (quite often) lines partially across the screen
-- Lines appear as well when opening applications or when menus come up
-- The system freezes more than I like to admit (more than my Windows/Ubuntu box)
I don't know if the freezing has to do with the lines that are shown on my screen. But I assume that both issues relate to some video card problem. I can't be sure - but that's what I assume from living with this issue day to day.
The line on the desktop (most of the time it is there before login) I can always get rid of by changing the display resolution to something else and then changing it back. Normally the line is gone, or, reappears on a different spot on the desktop. But repeating the procedure removes the line.
However, this does not mean that the lines are not showing up again when launching apps or displaying menus!
And since those lines appear to happen randomly, I think it's safe to assume that we're not talking dead pixels here, either...
About the freezing:
My iMac freezes sometimes when I move the mouse around, when switching desktops using "spaces" or when the zoom function of the Dock kicks in. Sometimes the screen goes completely black, sometimes completely white. The mouse, however, always works. But the system requires a reboot.
Again, this happens too often to feel comfy about it.
With my little knowledge of Mac troubleshooting I assume that there's something wrong with the ATI card that's built into my Mac. On the other hand, some people say that they started getting similar issues after updating their OS to Leopard. Again other people say that such issues stem from an ATI revision that is too old and the Mac should get a new ATI card. And how would that work? Isn't that an "all-in-one" machine with everything soldered onto the mainboard?
So, any help in this matter is greatly appreciated...
