Im trying to migrate my bootcamp partition to a new mac but both WinClone and Disk Utility give me errors.

No, and Apple would say this is more Windows, afterall, even "Windows on Mac" seems to come up short (driver and install issues).
WinClone has issues, and migrating to a new different motherboard is an issue in and of itself for Windows.
Casper 6 is commercial but can clone Windows to another drive.
To clone Mac OS, I recommend SuperDuper instead of Apple Disk Utility Restore. There is also Carbon Copy Cloner though you should really just use Setup or Migration Assistant from the new Mac with its own OS.
Even the subject of cloning Windows on PC hardware you will see different ideas, recommendations, whether to use Windows 7 own built in system image/restore or Acronis (Acronis doesn't support Boot Camp partitions).

The reason that I'm asking is that years ago on the Open Firmware Macs you couldn't use the capital letter "U" in the firmware password. Then there were issues on 10.5 when the user's password was changed and started with the '$' character

The only documentation that Apple's provided on securiy ended with Snow Leopard. Peruse these. For Lion and beyond, all I can offer are these, but I don't know if they'll answer the question. Finally, contact Apple's Express Lane and see what they say.

HT1349 In Miami 2 wks ago I purchased iMac 21.5 desktop. Several employees confirmed official apple reseller in Ecuador, Now Im here & there is none. ??so my concerns about purchasing a desktop having tech service-repair should not concern me.

After purchasing extended warranty as well, I now find myself with a very non portable computer in a country in South America that has no backup tech support for my new unit. I would not have purchased this model had I not venn told by serveral salesmen and one teacher that there was an official Apple Reseller in Ecuador so I had back up for technical or repair issues.
Now that I am already in Ecuador, returning or exchanging the unit is impossibe, and I have no technical back up. I am furious, and need to know who at Apple will take responsibility for the misleading info given to me be several Apple experts at the company Apple Store ibn Miami

Why is Logic's interface still heavy Graphically? Sure; that if this was once an awesome app that i would either go back to that version or, having been seduced by new features etc., i find that i can't live without them then I would (and have ) dl Reaper (mac, free), try the Sonar7 demo bootcamped (a truly awesome app), find an le version of Cubase (there's no demo and the full version ain't cheap) and try 'em all out on a second machine over a long, slow weekend. They all have strengths and weaknesses. They all have problems for some users. if you can get around on one of them you can quickly gain passable competence on any of them and at the very least you'll learn new things you can do with Logic and, more than likely, learn that Logic is still your favorite. 8 is a major overhaul, it's bound to take a few patches to get it right. Do we want it to be perfect out of the box? Of course. Is that ever gonna' happen? Noooo ... but if it doesn't work, go back to 7, hassle Apple about and wait till the fix it.

Is there an iPad solution? An Apple solution?

I have a 92 year old MIL that lives alone in a single family house. She refuses to move to an assisted living facility, and we are trying to address some concerns. I am hoping there is an iPad solution, but any will be considered. We installed a computer years ago for email, but she refuses to learn to use it. We need a solution that requires no action on her part once it is set up.
Internet access and a wireless router can be assumed,
(1) Camera mounted in kitchen so that she can be checked on for activity and general health by her children.
(2) Capability to establish video call with her by any one of 4 children, a slew of grandkids and great grandkids. They would call out her name to get her to go to the kitchen where the montor would be to start conversation.
(3) Return by itself to basic monitor mode when call is terminated by afroementioned children.

I think you need less an ipad and more a computer of some sort with a webcam which you can access from the outside.
I'd look into a company that does some sort of nanny cam programs. That's kinda what you need, a nanny for your mom.

What I am wondering is whether there is a standard solution. I've tried the standalone downloads, etc. with the same lack of success that other's have seen.

Did you check out READ THIS FIRST ? The section "Problems running your AF code in the run time engine? Error 1634?"discusses how "Launch Root Actor.vi" and "Launch Nested Actor.vi" have an input to open the front panel.

There is only one solution. Each user must have their own separate user account. All of their respective data would be contained in their separate user accounts. This also means each will have a separate iTunes Library. If you all use the same third-party apps, then each will have to purchase their own copies under their own Apple IDs. Some data sharing is possible. See:

Recovering bootcamp partition - is there a solution that works?

Dealing with bootcamp issues after a Lion upgrade seems to be a common problem with no agreed solution.
When I upgraded my iMac to Lion, the upgrade process couldn't create a recovery partition so Apple support advised me to use Disk Utility to create a small (5 GB) block of free space on my harddisk for the recovery partition to use and then to use Disk Utility to enlarge the OSX partition again to recover whatever remaining free space was left after the Lion upgrade had completed.
This I duly did. However, after I enlarged the OSX partition using Disk Utility to recover the free space I found that a) the Bootcamp partition had been renamed "disk0s4" and b) when holding down the Option key when booting, the Recovery option was now labelled "EFI Boot" and appeared to boot from the regular OSX partition. Attempting to boot windows in Bootcamp results in a "missing operating system" error message.
I'm not so worried about the recovery partition as I have a bootable DVD and USB flash drive.
What I would like to do is recover some files from the Windows partition. There is a lot of opinions in the Apple suport forums about what works such as, booting Windows from the install disk and running the "fixmbr" and "fixboot" commands or using rEFIt or BootPicker (which doesn't seem to work on Lion).
Is there a reliable approach to fixing this problem so that I can at least read the contents of the partition, even if I can't boot from it? If I can't actualy recover the partition I'm not too fussed, so long as I can get the data off it.

Why do you suggest installing Lion on an external h/disk? Is this because of problems with Lion or just suggested standard procedure?
Some of the options may work although I am unable to mount the partition at all (in OSX or by booting from a Linux live CD and trying to mount it from there) so I'm not sure how far any of them will get.
I haven't tried booting from the Windows DVD as yet.

From looking at the Fdisk and GDisk output I cannot see where the problem is occurring (although I know 2/5ths of stuff all about partition tables). I notice that the Bootcamp partition is now lacking a name although I don't know whether this matters or not and strangely FDisk identifies it as an HPFS filesystem whereas Disk Utility identifies it as MSDOS (FAT).

We have a application developed for SAP Mobile Infrastructure. It's developed using JSP and Generic Sync.
We are with problem of performance. Our customer asked for us other solution for application.
I would like to know, if there is a solution to "migrate" the application on MI Client ito a web application, to this application become a "online" application without re-builiding the current.
We think to use WebDynpro, but we will have to re-build the application.

There is currently no migration plan to an online application.That is because there are a number of differences between the offline app and the online app. The offline app uses JSP/AWT with Syncbos as the data models. The online app uses Webdynpro and does not use Syncbos as the data model. So unfortunately you will have to redo it.

No. Snow Leopard comes on a DVD which you can buy from the Apple Online store. However, I can't find a store for Russia. Do you have access to Amazon? They're available from there also (usually). Around €30, R1250.
