Is there an option to hide the tooltip after a certain time?

I've got the Spry tooltip set to appear after 500ms, but I'd like it to disappear within say 5s. It's only a "tip" so if the user's mouse stays hovered over the tip location they've read the tip and don't need to see it any more. I can't see an option to remove it after a time - if there isn't one it sure would be nice to have one.

I want to have an object appear in one of my 3d-applets after 30 seconds. How do I do this? It would be easy in regular Java, but since the scenegraph is precompiled, it makes it more complicated in Java3D.

Actually, it wouldn't be that difficult at all.
Here's the trick: The scene graph as a whole isn't necessarily precompiled. You actually compile the BranchGroups in the scene. And branch groups can be added or removed at ANY time (provided the right capabilities are set).
You can add it later in several ways:
You could override behavior to count out 30 seconds (w/ or w/o using an Alpha), and add the item.
Or you could do it from your application, using a TimerTask, or implementing your own thread to do it.
Another idea, instead of actually adding the item 30 seconds in:
You could add the item right away and set the appearance invisible, and set it visible when 30 seconds is up.
Another thing you could do is modify the culling at 30 seconds in, so the 'visible' faces aren't rendered until 30 seconds have passed.
The bottom line is, you can always change the scene graph after it's been compiled and is live AS LONG AS you have set the appropriate capabilitiy bits.

Selecting a different email will change what is displayed. Tapping the Home button will take you back to the Home screens. Tapping the power button on the top of the iPad will put it to sleep. Those are pretty much your options.

I'd like to hide the time in the status bar, or replace it with other information.
Reason: I don't like being reminded what time it is when using a PDA type device, especially not in the middle of the night if I'm reading on it.

Are you sure about that? Several highly regarded, widely downloaded apps, e.g., eReader, have an option to hide the status bar. The developer forums are awash in discussions about the commands to hide the status bar-- it's built in to the SDK.
I figure someone will have put out a small program that does nothing but hide the status bar or allow its tweaking... much like StatusBar does on the Palm OS 5 PDAs...

Why is there no option to "hide sensitive notifications" on my phone? (LG G3) I just updated to Lollipop, and it now it shows all my emails and texts on the lock screen which is not cool. When I tried to search for a fix, I found that you need to choose "hide sensitive notifications" under the "Sound and Notification" settings, but that option is nowhere to be found. Help!

I have figured it out. It's really dumb. So you need to set the locking mechanism (pattern, code, whatever). Then go to Settings>Sound and Notification>Lock Screen> Show All Notifications. Then when you go to Settings>Sound and Notification>Apps and pick something like "messages", the "sensitive" option appears.
So essentially if you choose the "Hide Sensitive Only" it seems to think that all are sensitive and you can't pick and choose. But if you "Show All", it will let you decide what is sensitive. Very complicated.

Is there a way to hide the SSID?

On my old Linksys router I could choose to not broadcast the SSID as a form of added security (a hacker won't hack what he doesn't know exists). Instead of it showing up in the list of available networks, you had to type it in manually.
It finally broke and I bought an AirPort Extreme which I just set up a few minutes ago. Created a new network, new password, etc. But there doesn't seem to be an option to not broadcast the SSID that I could see.
Is there any way to hide the SSID from people looking for available networks?

yes.
launch *airport utility* and enter +manual setup+ for your device. go to the wireless tab and click on +wireless options+. find the check box for +create a closed network+ and update the AEBS.
edit: don't be fooled, though. clients connected to a hidden (closed) network still broadcast the SSID openly. there are a number of freely available tools out there that can pick up a hidden network in a snap.

If you want to do any custom formatting to the workbook and you do not want it to reset when you refresh the workbook,
You will have to You can deactivate the function for adjusting the formatting (Adjust Formatting after Refreshing) in the Display Options of the Query Properties.
When you do this, you can have your own formatting for the workbook and it will not be affected when you refresh the workbook.

Instead of removing the music from the cloud or the iTunes library why not shuffle your music using a Smart Playlist which excludes the holiday music, or tracks that are not checked. For example, use this very simple Smart Playlist:

thanks for your input, that is a solution, but I would prefer to find a simpler to implement solution, something that if possible could be automated. It doesn't have to be unbreakable, as there is no sensitive data being sent, it's only a customer id and some parameters. Is there a way maybe to encrypt the URL at the clients side and decrypt it at the server side (maybe I'm showing my ignorance )
I'm just trying to avoid being obvious.

It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the sessionstore.js [2] file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

start your application using the ftcmd or ftexec.
The following is an example of one that I use.

I'm guessing what really needs to be closed is the launch server window,
right? That's the one that runs as an "MS-DOS" box in the task bar.
The launcher is just the little applet that can run other applications.
As far as we have been able to discover here, the only way to make the
launch server close after the application exits is to code it into your
application. Forte doesn't really want to close it though, because it is
used to fire off any and all application that get run using "ftcmd" or
the LaunchService.RunApplet method call.
If you don't need to use Forte's application distribution mechanism
(i.e. having it create icons in "Forte Applications" for you), you can
do as mentioned earlier and run things as an "ftexec" instead of an
"ftcmd".
It would be nice if Forte let you decide what type of icon you want it
to create when you install an application on a given node.

Try setting FORTE_LAUNCHER_CLOSE=TRUE. This is supposed to
shut down the
launcher after an application is launched. The default is FALSE.
You can hide the console window when launched via FTExec by:
aW : Window = new();
aW.windowsystem.ConsoleWindowDisplayState = DS_HIDDEN;

For starters, can you tell us what software you are talking about? I can assume Adobe Reader but you use .xls in your example.
If you are talking about Adobe Reader and pdf files, then unfortunately the answer is no. If something else, please be descriptive about the issue so we can guide you to the right place.
