Is there an option to set firefox android to never remember browsing history like you can on the desktop version?

Are there any options within the android version of Firefox to set the history to never remember like you can in the desktop version of Firefox and if not will this feature ever be available on Firefox android.

I looked for it in the about:config but could not find it, however this may be because im using the beta version. So i added a new Boolean in the about:config named "browser.privatebrowsing.autostart" and set it to true. Once I had done this I found firefox was no longer keeping a record of webpage that been visited. Thanks for your help @cor-el

How do I set Firefox 5 to NEVER delete any history entry???
Like I could in firefox 3, in about:config, set firefox to store(and therefore never delete) history entries. up to 900k entries.
I want the same in firefox 5. How?

Yes, use Firefox Portable for that website. <br />

I doubt is this is an issue with the Fast Release schedule, more like an issue with a website that is incorrectly screening the user agent of the browsers being used, or with a website that hasn't been updated for a browser that was released over three months ago.

  • Regarding new Reminder app in Mountain Lion:  is there a away to sort reminders by due date in the same fashion you can in the iCloud version of Reminders?

Regarding new Reminder app in Mountain Lion:  is there a way to sort reminders in due date order in the same fashion as you can in the iCloud version of Reminders?

So true! I have to agree: "It appears Reminders in 10.8 did not get a whole lot of thought put into it regarding how folks actually use reminders."
With Mountain Lion, Reminders no longer resembles a task-management (to-do) app in any way. I used to be able to limp along using it for my to-dos (although it never did accommodate this need well). This upgrade has made Reminders completely unusable for task management.
Once I got over my disappointment, I did some research and decided to try "Things." This application has all the functionality I've been wanting all along. It has a Mac version, an iPhone version, and an iPad version (among others)--and it keeps all devices synched via the Cloud (just not the iCloud ... but who needs the i ?). I wish I'd discovered it years ago. I'm glad now that Mountain Lion put Reminders over the edge; otherwise, I would not have made this discovery.
"Things" (oddly named though it is) comes close to the old Franklin planner software I used to love and haven't been able to find a substitute for. It can import items from Reminders, and it works with Siri. It's a joy to use, and it does everything I want it to do plus some things I never thought of and will use all the time. I downloaded the free trial version last night and within an hour paid for it with gratitude.

  • Is there a way to make YouTube download my selection completely before playing (like you can do with songs on iTunes)? I'm getting sick of start and stop during viewing!!

Apparently I typed my entire question into the subject line without knowing what I was doing!
I want to FULLY download selections from YouTube before attempting to view them. Just like you can select to fully download the samples of songs from iTunes. I am sick of the **** YouTube video going in and out, especially when I'm also downloading something else at the same time!
Please tell me how to set this 'preference,' if there is a way!
    Thanks !
    David

Sounds like you did this on the fly.
MM is supposed to open the Marker Panel Dialogue
    M just sets a marker
Not sure if either are intended for on the fly during playback .
There is also a Marker Icon on the Source Window Pane  >>

  • My version of mac 10.4.11 is not compatible with the latest version of firefox so I am trying to find where I can download the previous version 3.6 in English

Everything was fine until firefox automatically installed the newest version and it wasn't compatible with my version of mac. Normally it just reverts to the version I was using but this time the download of the old version disappeared from my desktop

Firefox 3.6.24 can be found here:

  • I would like for Firefox 4 Beta to save my session like it did in the previous version, how do I set this up?

Normally when I would close Firefox 3 I would be asked if I wanted to save my session, now in 4 Beta it simply warns me about closing multiple tabs, but I want to save my session.

I have an easy fix for you guys ... more faster.
The solution of mark2 ALWAYS save your session, this one is asking you, like for firefox 3.6
Go to 'about:config', then search for 'browser.showQuitWarning' and set it to 'true'.
    Have fun.

  • If I Boot Firefox, gray box states: "Extension Update. One of your studies requires a newer version of Test Pilot. You can get the latest version using the Add-ons window."

My computer is older and slower, so this may contribute to the problem. I sometimes get a message from my computer that I have high usage when I use Firefox.

You are updated see your user agent :
    Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:9.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/9.0.1

  • Is there a way to back up a step or undo a step in Camera Raw, like you can do when you are in PS with history?

While in camera raw, editing a photo, is there a way to back up a step or undo a step like you can do when you are in PS with history?

johnh316, There is no so called Backup step. However, you can undo the changes using Ctrl+Z.
Else, suggestions given by JJMack are worth following.
Since you are using Camera Raw, you can anytime revert back to the default state by going choosing "Camera Raw Defaults" from the Options Menu.

  • I downloaded the newer version of firefox but when i click on icon to bring it up the older version appears and tells me i am using an old version Help please

i want to know how to replace the newer version.

Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac. There is a third party version of Firefox 4 that runs on OS X 10.4/10.5 and PPC Macs, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox
If you prefer, you can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
Mozilla are working to prevent Mac users with non-compatible systems from getting the notification about Firefox 4, and also not displaying the "Download Firefox 4" button on http://www.mozilla.com
For the full system requirements see http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/system-requirements.html

  • Although the proper options are set, firefox will not notify me "first" when I shut down firefox with multiple tabs open.

Firefox should warn me before shutting down when I have more than one tab open. Although the proper options are set, it just shuts down. VERY PAINFUL.

Would you check what you have with I've listed in item #31 at
    * http://dmcritchie.mvps.org/firefox/firefox-problems.htm#tabslost
Whether you do it the old way or the new way you can always pick up your last session from the History menu. So even if choose not to restore you tabs at the end of session or are not asked you still have the option to work from the last session through the History menu.
You can make '''Firefox 8.0''' look like Firefox 3.6.*, see numbered '''items 1-10''' in the following topic [http://dmcritchie.mvps.org/firefox/firefox-problems.htm#fx4interface Fix Firefox 4.0 toolbar user interface, problems (Make Firefox 4.0 thru 8.0, look like 3.6)]. • Is there a way to set firefox so it only allows access to only one website / (ip address).

Is there a way to set firefox so it only allows access to only one website / (ip address) and block traffic from everything else (the entire web) other than the one site I want to allow? The site I want to allow is a corporate web application that will only work in firefox. We as a business run a windows server and all client desktops run Internet Explorer with security setting controlled by group policy. We have already locked down the security setting in firefox so users can’t bypass the proxy server settings.

I have a proxy server set up (Symantec.cloud). Fire fox is “locked” so users would find it difficult to bypass it.
    I have a file: '''local-settings.js '''
This is located in: C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\defaults\pref
The content of this file is:
''pref("general.config.obscure_value", 0); // only needed if you do not want to obscure the content with ROT-13
    pref("general.config.filename", "mozilla.cfg");''
I also have the file: called: '''mozilla.cfg'''
This is located: C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
The contents of this file is:
    lockPref("network.proxy.type", 5);
All that is working fine, users can’t easily change the connection settings.
So all that is good and works…
What I would also like to do is set firefox so access is limited to 1 IP address and nothing else is allowed (the whole internet is blocked, except this one IP address).
You suggest using a PAC file - I was unsure how I would use a PAC file, (I have never written one) and do not understand how I would implement one? Please help.

  • Is there any way to set Firefox to remember history for a certain amount of time rather than all or nothing?

In previous versions, there was a choice to remember browsing history for a certain number of days, but in the current version the only choices seem to be to remember history or not remember history, with no way to customize in between. I don't want to have to clear my history and cache manually all the time, but I don't want it cleared every time I close my browser, either. Has the customization feature been removed entirely or am I missing something? And if it's been removed entirely, could it please be brought back? It's helpful for people who want their older browsing history to be deleted without deleting the entire history.

    *Expire history by days: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/expire-history-by-days/

  • I have selected "never remember my history" but everytime I start firefox and open a new tab, websites I visited the previous day are all displayed there.

Under Options I have selected "Firefox will never remember my history." Nevertheless, even after I have closed my browser and restarted my computer, Firefox does remember my browsing history. If I "clear all current history" it gets wiped out, but all browsing after that is remembered and is visible in "show all history" and when I open a new tab and there is a tiled display of previous websites visited. Is it not enough to say "never remember history?" Is there something else I need to do to not have this information saved?
P.S. I do have Firefox sync and one other device, a smart phone. Do I have to adjust settings in the browser on that? It doesn't seem to offer the same options.

That is weird as you seem to be running Firefox in Private Browsing mode:
    *browser.privatebrowsing.autostart: True
Does this only happen after you reboot the computer or also if you reopen Firefox immediately?
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
    See "Creating a profile":
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem

I'm trying to make a time sheet and include a grid, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to print a full grid on my spreadsheet.  There are options for shaded grids but I want a defined grid, and I have spent the last 2 hours looking for the answer.  Any ideas?

    Hi Cynthia,
Are you planning to have this table do any of the calculation, or is is to be used as the electronic equivalent of a sheet of paper with a grid printed on it—a place to record the data.
    For your seven column table:
Are you using one or more rows at the top of the table to label the data below? If so, you might want this row (or these rows) to be set as Header Rows.
Are you using the leftmost column to label the rows? If so, you may want this column to be a Header column.
The default table supplied on the "Blank" templates contains one header row and one header column. If you need more (or fewer) Header rows or columns, select the table, then go Table (menu) > Header Rows > (choose the number you need). Repeat to set the number of Header Columns.
To make a seven column table from the table supplied by default, click on any cell in column H (The eighth column), and drag right to add more cells to the selection, until you get to the last column of the table. With these cells selected, Go Table > Delete Columns.
To make the remaining seven columns fit across a single page:
Go View > Show Print View to show the table as it would appear when printed to paper.
Select the table by clicking its icon in the Sheets List to the left (easy method), OR by carefully clicking on the outside boundary of the table itself (fiddley method).
With the table selected, you will see square white handles at each corner and at the middle of each side (including the top and bottom).
With the mouse, grab the handle in the middle of the right side of the table and drag right (or left) until the table just fits onto the width of the defined page.
With the table still selected, set the thickness and colour of the cell boundaries using the Gaphics Inspector (as described by Jerry), or using the Stroke, Thickness and Color Well controls in the Format bar above the working portion of the Window.
    Regards,
    Barry
