If an outage has been detected, the app will display a message as soon as you log in
Tap the outage information to check the area again or to learn more

Sign in
Your device will display information about your connection status

    My phone stopped working for several hours last Friday, couldn't txt or call, switched to wifi with no success etc.  Was there an outage?  I missed several important calls and need to confirm

    I used to have the same issue. What I found by using Onavo Count (a data monitoring app) is that most of the Bloatware Verizon puts on the phones calls home nightly to get updates, or data to feed you if you happen to use the apps.  Unfortunately on my Maxx and Bionic, I used NONE of the apps that were using my Data.  Onavo also has the ability to change how an app uses data by limiting it to Wi-Fi Only and once I did that, my data usage went from 2.5 GB per month down to just under .5 GB per month on my bionic, and from 5.3 GB per month on the Maxx to just over 3GB per month.
    If you have Ice Cream Sandwich on the Razr, you can also disable these Bloatware apps and that will stop it from accessing your data. At the very least Onavo can tell you which apps are using the data.
    I would suspect the Data ia being used by Backup assistant, or My Verizon Mobil, or a social media app.

  • Is there an outage? A partial outage?

    I'm having all sorts of weird and inconsistant iCloud problems tonight. Is there up to date status information about iClouds servers? Can I check anywhere to see if this is a problem widespread? I don't want to waste my time troubleshooting something that appears so clearly to be on the server side.

    It's always groovy to be part of the 0.2%, unless it's the 0.2% suffering an Email outage during a heated discussion.

    If you are the only person on the line and there are other lines down in the area that serve more people, unfortunately, I would imagine that they would put you near the bottom of the list.  It is in their best interest to get as many people back on line as quickly as possible and if they can fix one line that serves more people before your  single residence line, I'm guessing that is what they would do. 
    I can appreciate your frustration with being without a phone.  I'm guessing VZ is just making priority calls on who gets fixed first.
    There is an earlier post by what seems to be a VZ employee for the original poster to PM him.  You, and the other person who reported a similar problem, might want to PM that person as well with your details(be sure to include your phone number in the PM so you don't waste time back & forth asking for it).
    Thanks to the VZ employee who offered that to the poster.   It seems there is a least one person in the Verizon fold that understands what customer service is all about....   I've seen a few of them like Brian on these forums.  When you come across them, use him/her, but don't abuse him/her because they are people too and if they get abused because they happen to work for a big company, they will become exactly what you expect and will stop trying to help.

    When will we get our phones back this is ridiculous!!!

    download the fios mobile app, and part of it's troubleshooting is that it checks for outages in your area.    it also lets you do some basics and schedule a visit if you need one, you can also do a live chat through your cell too. 
    I'm not sure how many florida customers are online today, I'm in the west coast.

    Hearing that you are also having issues with calls in your area is concerning and we do want to get to the bottom of this for you right away. What kind of phone do you have? Did you notice this started to happen after a certain time or after an update of any kind? Please share some additional details so that we may assist you.

    Every time we try to make phone calls today we keep getting disconnected. We are in South Carolina. This has been going on all day. Does anyone know what the problem is?
