Currently we are using BOXI 3.1 SP 2 FP 2.2. and we are planning for upgrade to 4.0.
Our BW system is 7 with enhance pack 1 SP06.

Is there any reason you do not want iOS 7.1.2?
For what its worth, I've had no problems with it on an iPad 2, a Mini, and an iPhone 5.

I have a 2007 13" Macbook White. Is there any way to upgrade my OS from 10.6.8 to anything above 10.7? I keep getting an error message when I try to download 10.8.3 because Apple didn't make it compatible with my machine, but I really only need 10.7. So is there ANY possible way to do this with my current Macbook? Thanks for the help guys.

According to these system requirements, no, there is no way to go higher than Lion (10.7), as Mountain Lion (10.8) will not be compatible.
    http://www.apple.com/osx/specs/
Also note that both Lion and Mountain Lion are memory hogs and the realistic minimum RAM should be 4 GB; you can run it with 2 GB, but depending on how you use your machine, you may not be happy with its performance.

Unless the machine was originally offered with an upgradeable option, no, the parts would have to be replaced with the same spec parts. You do realize that a logic board replacement can be as much as $600 or more?

If you're using a PowerPC Mac, no.
If you're using an Intel Mac, phone the online Apple Store and order a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD.

  • Is there any way to upgrade to a newer version of os x snow leopard if my computer isn't compatible with mavericks?

Is there any way to upgrade my software version? I've tried downloading java or upgrading it and it won't let me because my software isn't compatible. I was ready to install Mavericks when all of the sudden my computer isn't compatible with OS X Mavericks. Does anybody have any solutions besides buy a new computer?

If your computer isn’t compatible, you might be able to upgrade to Lion.
    Computer Compatibility - Lion                       Lion
Check to make sure your applications are compatible. PowerPC applications are no longer supported.
    Application Compatibility
You can also check which applications are PowerPC by going to the  menu, select About this Mac, click on More info…, then click System Report and select Software/Applications.
If you have applications that you want to use that aren’t compatible, you can retain Snow Leopard and create a new partition to install Lion on or you can run Snow Leopard  server in a virtual mode.

Syncing the iPhone 5C requires at least Mac OS X 10.6.8. Mac OS X 10.6 DVDs are available at the online Apple Store; they require a Mac with an Intel CPU and at least 1GB of RAM.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Most of the applications compatible with Lion are also compatible with Mountain Lion, so you shouldn't have any problem. Mountain Lion supports the latest update for Parallels 7 and 8, so if you haven't got one of these versions, you should upgrade it before upgrading Mac OS X. That application uses extensions, so it may cause kernel panics

  • Hi, I am interested in upgrading to snow leopard but I've heard in some cases it messed up peoples computers. Is there any advantages in upgrading to Snow Leopard from Leopard? Thank you in advance for the advice!

Hi, I am interested in upgrading to snow leopard but I've heard in some cases it messed up peoples computers. Is there any advantages in upgrading to Snow Leopard from Leopard? Thank you in advance for the advice points will be given to multiple users. Here are my computer specs (Leopard 10.5.8.)
      Model Name:    iMac
      Model Identifier:    iMac7,1
Processor Name:    Intel Core 2 Duo
      Processor Speed:    2 GHz
      Number Of Processors:    1
      Total Number Of Cores:    2
      L2 Cache:    4 MB
      Memory:    2 GB
      Bus Speed:    800 MHz

You need not upgrade unless there is something you do that cannot be done unless you upgrade. Upgrading OS X doesn't mess up anyone's computer. Users mess up their computers.
Your model has 2 GBs of RAM which is adequate for Snow Leopard although 4 GBs would be better. Upgrading to Snow Leopard will cost $29.00. You can order from Apple's Online Store. Here's a good procedure to follow:
How to Install OS X Updates Successfully
    A. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions:
Boot from your current OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. Then select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (4.0 for Tiger) and/or TechTool Pro (4.5.2 for Tiger) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    B. Make a Bootable Backup Using Restore Option of Disk Utility:
Open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.
Select the destination volume from the left side list.
Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
Check the box labeled Erase destination.
Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to the Source entry field.
Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Destination means the external backup drive. Source means the internal startup drive.
    C. Important: Please read before installing:
If you have a FireWire hard drive connected, disconnect it before installing the update unless you will boot from this drive and install the update on it. Reconnect it and turn it back on after installation is complete and you've restarted.
You may experience unexpected results if you have installed third-party system software modifications, or if you have modified the operating system through other means. (This does not apply to normal application software installation.)
The installation process should not be interrupted. If a power outage or other interruption occurs during installation, use the standalone installer (see below) from Apple Downloads to update.  While the installation is in progress do not use the computer.
    D. To upgrade:
Purchase the Snow Leopard Retail DVD.
Boot From The OS X Installer Disc:
Insert OS X Installer Disc into the optical drive.
    Restart the computer.
Immediately after the chime press and hold down the "C" key.
Release the key when the spinning gear below the dark gray Apple logo appears.
Wait for installer to finish loading.
    E. If updating:
    Download and install update(s)
    Use Software Update, or
    Download standalone updater(s).

  • Is there any harm in upgrading from 10.5.8 to 10.8?

I'd like to premise this question by saying that I am aware that there is a Downloadable Mountain Lion Recovery Assistant that you can put onto an external hard drive and boot to.  For this question I ask the reader to pretend the 10.8 Recovery Assistant doesn't exist.
I also ask that the reader provide a reason why in their answer.
If I have an 2009 iMac with 10.5.8 and a 2011 MacBook Pro with 10.8.4 connected to each other with a firewire cable, is there any harm in putting the iMac into Target Disk Mode, booting the MacBook Pro to Recovery 10.8.4 and Reinstalling Mac OS X Mountain Lion onto the iMac's Macintosh HD?
I'm wondering if Apple wants people to from Leopard 10.5.8 to Snow Leopard 10.6.8 just for the sake of gaining access to the App Store, or if there is some greater potential for a negative outcome in skipping Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and going straight to Mountain Lion 10.8.4 from Leopard 10.5.8 -- eg. missing filing system prerequisites.
Thanks, to anyone who responds, for your input

You need the drivers for the hardware on the 2009 machine, then comes the problem of updating, reinstalles etc.

You can download the 10.8 installer and make one of these
    http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/mac/how-to-create-a-bootable-usb-to-install-os- x/2699
Problem is of course your 2011 machine is already on 10.8 and if the AppStore won't down it saying "your already on 10.8" then you would have to clone 10.8 on a external drive and disconnect, command option r boot into Internet Recovery to erase the drive and install 10.7, then AppStore download the 10.8 installer to make the USB thumb drive, then upgrade the 2011 machine back to 10.8
Option/alt key to boot off the clone and reverse clone 10.8 old configuration back on. Then use the 10.8 USB to install on the other machine.

Yes - you need to follow special instructions available in My Oracle Support. You may also need to apply extra patches pre- or post-upgrade.
