Is there any difference b/w Crystal reports accessed from Crystal reports XI R2 and Crystal reports accessed from BO Eneterprise Crystal Reports Explorer
Post Author: Sriramkusumanchi
CA Forum: Crystal Reports
Hi All,
We are using BO XI R2 version.
1. Under this version, the BO Enterprise product consists of Crystal Reports Explorer feature through which we can develop the crystal reports.
2. And under the same version, the Crystal Reports XI R2 product consists of Crystal Reports feature through which we can develop crystal reports.
I want to know, wheher there is any difference in the features for developing crystal reports through point 1 and point 2. If yes, then which product is the better option to go for Crystal reports development. (please note: I want the all the scheduling, automatic printing, printing on pre printed forms, etc features to be supported)
Please help us to solve this confusion ASAP.
Hi Nancy,
The server info still needs to be updated. Are you setting location for each subreport also?
Possibly this registry key will help, I only have CR 2008 installed so you'll have adjust for what ever you are using:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Business Objects\Suite 12.0\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions - VerifyStoredProceduresOnFirstRefresh = No
and
VerifyStoredProceduresOnSetLocation = No
And
VerifyWhenDBDriverUpgraded = No
And
ViewOutOfPlaceSubreports = No
Close CR designer before making any changes. And the usual warning about modifying the registry.
Thank you

Hi is there any difference between lens 24-70 mm f/2.8 L USM and 24-70 mm f/2.8 L II USM?
The image quality difference is subtle -- but like most lenses, you wont notice an image quality difference if you're viewing images on a small display. You'd have to view them at 100% size.
The original 24-70 is a "reverse zoom". When the lens is extended it's 24mm. When it's fully retracted it's 70mm. A reverse zoom has an advantage when being used with a lens hood since the hood stays in place but the lens pulls back as you zoom in (but that's when the angle of view is narrower). You'll notice the hood on the version II is much shallower -- it's designed to work at the 24mm end but that means the hood is not providing much help at the 70mm end.
The lens uses 82mm filter threads. That may sound inconsequential but the 24-70 and 70-200 are often used as a nice complimentary pair... but that means the filters that fit the 70-200 wont fit the 24-70 -- necessisitating that you (a) buy filters (ND, polarizers, etc.) in both sizes, or (b) buy everything in the 82mm size and use "step up rings" to allow the filters to be used on the 77mm thread lenses.
There was a bit of "zoom creep" on the original. I have not used the II so I can't comment on whether or not it still has "zoom creep". (zoom creep is where the weight of the lens is actually enough that merely pointing it up or down can cause the lens to want to creep in that direction... thereby changing your focal length if you're not holding on to it. It's subtle... it's not like it slides to the limit... but it doesn't stay precisely where you left it. It will move a bit.

Is there any difference viewer software for reports??
Hi,
Is there any difference viewer software for viewing differences between two oracle reports??
Thanks for ur suggestions!
MadhuAny version control software, like CVS, allows for line-to-line comparison of different versions of the same file. The problem with reports is that to understand differences you need to save the reports in human readable format that can be REX-file.

Is there any difference in SAP 4.7 and ECC 5.0
Dear,
Is there any difference in SAP 4.7 and ECC 5.0...
Thanx & Regards,
Mohammad NabiHi,
Check this out
Hi I'm providing the ECC 6.0 functionality if you knows the
4.7EE the difference is as follows:
ECC 6.0 New GL Functionality
1.Activate the New General Ledger Accounting by a single
click on the clock icon
2.You will reach to change view "activation of New GL A/cg"
detail screen and tick the checkbox and save.
3. After activation of New General Ledger Accounting, you
exit the IMG screen when you re-enter, you find that a new
node is added Financial Accounting (New)
4.After activation of New General Ledger Accounting; a new
sub node appears in the IMG structure.
This sub node is Define Segment
The menu path is:
SAP Customizing IMG ---> Enterprise Structure -
>
Definition --> Financial Accounting --> Define Segment
In this IMG activity, you define your segments.
If you then define your profit centers, you can enter an
associated segment in the master record of a profit center.
The segment is then derived from the assigned profit center
during posting.
5. Activation has created a new field in Profit Center
Master Record: the SEGMENT
6.Leading and Non- Leading Ledgers
In General Ledger Accounting, you can use several Ledgers
in parallel. This allows you to produce financial
statements according to different accounting principles. A
ledger uses several dimensions from the totals table it is
based upon. When defining Ledgers, one must be defined as
the Leading Ledger. The Leading Ledger is based on the same
accounting principles as that of the consolidated financial
statements. It is integrated with all subsidiary ledgers
and is updated in all company codes. This means that it is
automatically assigned to all company codes. In each
company code, the Leading Ledger receives exactly the same
settings that apply to that company code : the currencies,
the fiscal year variant and posting period variant .
You must designate one of your ledgers as the Leading
Ledger. It is not possible to designate more than one
ledger as the leading ledger.
The menu path is:
SAP Customizing IMG -
> Financial Accounting (New) -
>
Financial Accounting Basic Settings (New) -
> Ledgers ---
-> Ledger -
> Define Ledgers for General Ledger
Accounting
Clicking on the checkbox identifies one of your ledgers as
the Leading Ledger.
7. Activation of Non Leading Ledgers
Non Leading Ledgers are parallel ledgers to the Leading
Ledger . They can be based on local accounting principle,
for example. You have to activate a non- Leading Ledger for
individual company codes. Non- Leading Ledgers can have
different fiscal year variants and posting period variants
per company code to the Leading Ledger of this company
code.
The menu path is :
SAP Customizing IMG -
> Financial Accounting ( New ) -
> Financial Accounting Basic Settings (New) -
> Ledgers -
---> Ledger -
> Define and Activate Non --Leading
Ledgers
8.Assign scenarios to ledgers
A Scenario combines Customizing settings from different
business views. Each business view specifies which posting
data is transferred from different application components
in General Ledger Accounting, such as cost Center update or
Profit Center update .You assign the desired scenarios to
your ledgers. For each ledger, you define which fields are
filled with posting data from other application components.
SAP delivers a number of scenarios in the standard system.
It is not possible to create additional scenarios.
The menu path is:
SAP Customizing IMG -
> Financial Accounting (New) -
> Financial Accounting Basic Settings (New) -
> Ledgers -
--->Fields -
> Display Scenarios for General Ledger
Accounting.
9. Cost of sales accounting
Cost of sales accounting is a way to create a profit and
loss statement (P&L) for a company by comparing the
revenues to the costs or expenses incurred to obtain these
revenues.
The expenses are mainly divided by functional area such as:
Manufacturing
Administration
Sales
Research and Development
We can activate Cost of Sales Accounting by the following
menu path :
SAP Customizing IMG -
> Financial Accounting ( New ) -
-> Financial Accounting Basic Settings (New) -
>
Ledgers ->Ledger---> Activate Cost of Sales Accounting
Offsetting Account Report ECC 5.0
Offsetting account report for vendors in ECC 5.0 is
possible after implementing the OSS Note 1034354
Reward if helpful.

What isoffline distribution and online distribution is there any difference
Dear Guru's,
What is offline distribution and online distribution is there any difference.
Regards,
Srinivasan.Hi Srinivasan
with offline distribution, you can enable user with no connection to BPC to use BPC Reports and Inputschedules.
This is very usefull if, for example, you have users that need to key in data but you dont want them to have access to the BPC System. In this case you can generate Inputschedules for different Entities, send them to the users and upload the files with the new figures nearly automatically (see Offline Distribution Wizard).
"Online" means that the user has to log on to the System by Citrix/TerminalServer or local client and has to be defined in the BPC security.

Are there any differences?
Are there any differences? on Ipod Video bought in USA and Europe? or are they just the same?
Ive heard that some people have problem with ipods in europe with the pal system when they bought it in USA.
Regards KimThe only difference I would think there would be between iPods sold here or in Europe is the default option for video out display. So, if you buy your iPod in Europe, and you want to display something from your iPod on a TV in the US, you would just have to change and option. Here is an article that goes over that a bit:

Is there any difference in oracle database and forms database
i want to know is there any difference in oracle database and forms 6i database
,if i import some file through oracle database then same data will exist in forms database or not
thanksOracle Forms is a Rapid Application Development (RAD) tool not a database. With Forms, you connect to an Oracle database to query and display data from the database as well as insert new or update existing data. Consequently, if exists in the database - you should be able to display it in a Form.

Is there any difference in committing in a FORALL loop and from a FOR loop.????
Peeyush wrote:
sir i was reading the articles in asktom.com and when I was going through a document one person mentioned that there are difference in commit in for and forall statements but I am not able to figure it out that's why I wanted to know where the difference actually lies in commit statements in for and forall..And the answer is that you CANNOT commit in a FORALL statement. As alreayd pointed out a FORALL statement is literally a single bulk DML statement. It doesn't have a loop structure for you to put a commit inside of. You can only commit after the FORALL has happened. You can however commit inside a FOR loop, but generally speaking that would be considered bad practice. You should commit when the business logic says that it's a valid point to commit the business transaction, otherwise you could end up leaving your database in an inconsistent data state if you've committed part of a logical transaction. -

Are there any difference between fx. the Nvidia FX3800 and GTX 260?
Does anybody understand why I fell frustrated and confused about all this videocard discussions?
Some tells me that the FX3800 is a better card - more pro - stabillity etc. than low-price cards - like GTX 260/285/295 - and some tells me that GTX 260 = FX3800. I read on other webpages about how people are having problems having their GTX 260 recognized as a FX 3800 (not in PPro but by Nvidia software). Other places tells about how to softmod GTX 260 to a FX 3800. Some tells me that there is a big difference between these cards - others they are almost alike - same GPU etc. I read that the difference between GTX 260 and FX 3800 is only the looks of it from outside - inside they are alike - and that apart from that only drivers are different.
I have ordered the FX 3800 - believing it will perform better and more stable and give me really good playback rendering inside PPro CS5 compared to my GTX 260. If I get the same performance and stability by just changing two lines in a textfile with my old GTX 260 I feel cheated...I hope this is not happening.
Someone from Adobe or Nvidida - please tell us - what there is a differnece between fx. the GTX 260 and the FX 3800 besides from the outside look and some drivers? If there is no difference between them - I can not see any other reason for only supporting the FX cards than $$$...If there are a difference in Quadra/FX favour - and I sincerly hope so - I understand why you choose Quadro cards - but if they are just alike inside - I just feel we have all been mislead. I could have saved my money...time will show - I get the FX 3800 in a few days...can´t return it (danish rules when you buy it as a company) - so I´m 1000$ short this month...:(
I would feel much more comfortable in having ordered the FX 3800 if someone from Adobe could tell me excactly how much better FX 3800 is from the GTX 260 - apart from being supported and the GTX is not. And if there is more in it than just changing a simple textfile? Are there any more things going on inside PPro - deep inside - that affects performance with FX cards besides from two lines in a textfile? Who can help answering that question - and I mean really answering it in serious way - not just saying - off course the FX is better - because its more expenssive.
Haven´t we all experienced this in other situations? Like buying a car? Fx. Inside SKODA FABIA is a VW engine like the ones used in much more expensive VW cars. Only difference is the name and the outside look - and some comfort. The engine is the same - and in a way you could say that from an engine-point-of-view - the cars are alike. But you pay for comfort.
Is the same thing going on here? I pay more for FX 3800 for the looks of it from the outside and some software-drivers that makes it more stable - but inside it is just like GTX 260? So from a graphic-performance-GPU-point-of-view I actually have two cards that are alike and I reaaly am paying for software and not hardware?
/MortenYou are right -. and I keep spanking myself in the head with a wet towel.
I will lie in my bed - thinking of the nice new bicycle I could have bought instead of the FX 3800....;-)
No seriously - I know what I have done - and maybe I have done right - I don´t know? Time will show and I will sell or buy.
What I am frustrated about is the fact that I actually just decided to buy FX 3800 because Adobe and Nvidida toold me too - to get support for MPE and now it seems that my old GTX 260 is much like the FX 3800 if not the same inside? And I am frustrated about that it is possible to change a line in a simple textfile and suddenly get support for the GTX 260 to play MPE. This fact only put more lit on the conspiracy-fire about Adobe and Nvidia having made a simple software-trick to make some cards work others not = making a lot of money on fools like me...
You must admitt it is a rather tempting conclusion - if one is in the conspiracy-mood. Well - I try to think good about people. And Adobe convinced me at last that I needed the FX 3800 card. So I did order it eventually - because I need the MPE NOW - Can´t wait - having so bad performance and issues with PPro 4 - been so frustrated about edditting for almost ½ a year now - constantly having issues etc. And I am going to start new big project in 7 days. Have just spend 2000$ on upgrade to Master Collection and have making thoughts about wich card to buy long time ago - the GTX 285 or FX 3800 - to get the MPE support. And same day I order I suddenly see that the softmod makes my old GTX 260 to a FX 3800. And other posts claim that the cards are the same inside. No wonder I get frustrated - others must be the same.
So what I am trying to say is that: I feel like Adobe and Nvidida is not being honest with us. If it turns out that the only thing Adobe has done is making a simple textfile to make cards supported or not by enteringior changing the names of the cards inside the textfile - and nothing else....And if fx. a softmoded GTX 260 turns out to perform excactly the same and be as stable as a FX 3800 to 5-6 x the price - I will feel cheated and feel like a stupid fool.
I certainly do not hope this is what is going on. But it seems no one can help me but myself - testing and trying these cards - and I will try to post my results in this forum - so others might have easier tomake a choice...
I´l be back....
Cheers -
