The best way to check to make sure your Data Acquisition (DAQ) board or card is working is to run Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX). From MAX, you can make sure that the card has computer resources assigned to it and also read any channel and display the voltage on the screen. You may also output a voltage (if your board has analog output capability) from MAX.
I would suggest running MAX, connecting up the thermocouple to the card, and reading the voltage reported by MAX to make sure the voltage reported is correct. To check the analog output, I would connect the analog output to an analog input channel and make sure whatever voltage is output is also read in correctly.
Once the board is working correctly in MAX, you can begin development with Visual Basic. You
can use the standard NI-DAQ function calls, or, for faster, easier development, consider using the ComponentWorks for VisualBasic software. See www.ni.com/products and look for Measurement Studio for more information about ComponentWorks.
You can find more about MAX at www.ni.com/support/daq. This page covers installation problems, but also shows how to test the functionality of the card with MAX.

When i see my brothers phone, nokia 7210 supernova, when downloading some songs, the english letters including folders in the memoy card changes as other foreign languages or machine language, which i do not know. The unwanted downloads could not be deleted. Formatting will be losing all the music and video files he stored hitherto. I usually learnt that nokia java phones are not affected by the virus. But seeting this I want to safeguard my and users of nokia s40 phones. Is there any antivius program in jar format available as on now. Could the java phone be affected by virus. I, i HAVE ACCESSED THRO DATA AND STORAGE, BUT THEN I RECEIVED A MESSAGES THAT MEMORY CARD IS IN USE BY OTHER APPLICATION. So, I Have changed the theme from the memory card and then i could access it and could scan the virus. Thank you. This I rate as very useful, because, i found so many threads expressing, alternate programs and downloaded spurious programs which is given as jar files and did the extensive damage of slowdown of device and ultimate to device doom. Are there any Java Ogg Vorbis API's or examples

I'm currently involved in a project where in we need to record the audio from a mic encode with vorbis, then put it in Ogg container, and then make it as RTP packet and transmit over Darwin Streaming Server.
Till now we were using JMF with available codec's, since JMF handles the RTP part life was pretty much easy using it. Now we want to use Ogg Vorbis because of its adv's.
So in this process my first step would be to capture audio and compress it with vorbis. My search for the appropriate API was not successful as I could only find Decoder(Jorbis) in Java but not the encoders.
I've downloaded the libvorbis and libogg but the code examples were in "C" language.
Are there any resources in Java(API,examples) which would do help me in achieving this.

What you've been told is roughly right, except that, even if you had the source code, it would not necessarily be possible to compile it under Mac OS X.
There is, however, a rare special case. That is when the .exe application is actually a self-expanding Zip archive; ie, a compressed archive to which the code necessary to expand it has been added. The code itself would not run under Mac OS X, of course, but you could extract the content of the archive by using an application such as Zipeg, or after changing the filename extension to .zip.

Everytime I try to send a message to a person that does not have an Apple product ( Iphone or Ipad ) it comes up saying contact is not registered for iMessage and wont send it. I can only send them a message from my iPhone 4 instead. Do I have to install a new App from the App store to send these non iMessage cell users a message?

Apple does not transfer content bought with one Apple ID to another Apple ID. Apple will not merge two Apple IDs.
If most of your content was bought with the Yahoo! Apple ID but you now want the Gmail address for your Apple ID, the trick will be to change the address used for the Yahoo ID with the Gmail address. However, to do that you must first free the Gmail address from that other Apple ID. Use the instructions from Apple to substitute another address that is not used as an Apple ID for your Gmail address in the Apple ID with the Gmail address. Then, when the Gmail address is no longer used in an Apple ID, you can use the same instructions to substitute the Gmail address for the Yahoo address in the Apple ID with the Yahoo address.

Unfortunately, I do not believe that it is possible for a DAQ board to generate an AI Start Trigger from an analog trigger, but not be triggered itself until it receives a digital trigger.
