Is there any Read/Write capable ArchiveLink Repository Manager?

Hello Experts and Super-Experts Thilo and Detlev:
    Are any of you aware of a Read/Write ArchiveLink Repository Manager for the KMC platform?
    I know that there are a few SAP partners that have repository managers that allow for read access into ArchiveLink repositories. I have not as yet found a read and write capable ArchiveLink repository manager.
    I would appreciate any information.

  • Read/write from OBIEE repository data using API

    Hi, I need to create a my own application that could read/write from the repository data, the same as I can do using the BI Admin user interface (like creating dimensions, hierarchies, levels, etc.).
    Are there any API's to do that?
    I'm usually working with .NET/C# technology but I can also programming in Java, the important is that I could be able to write metadata in the repository, and simply read them, I'm not interested in complex report functions... any suggestion will be appreciated!

    I've looked for it before, but I didn't find anything about BI Server accessing, so I requested on this forum. After that I've looked for another kind of API and I've found these about web services!
    In the PDF I linked says:
    "Oracle BI Web Services allows external applications such as J2EE and .NET to use Oracle Business
    Intelligence as an analytical calculation and data integration engine. It provides a set of Presentation
    Services that allow external applications to communicate with Oracle BI Presentation Services. You
    can use Oracle BI Web Services to extract results from Oracle BI Presentation Services and deliver
    them to external applications and Web application environments. You can reference a saved report
    or send the criteria for the report to Oracle BI Web Services."
    without talking about Metadata, but in this another tutorial http://oraclebizint.wordpress.com/2007/07/31/customizing-obi-ee-soap-api/ talks about "metadata"... is it only about Presentation Service? Has Presentation Service metadata too? Are they like Dimensions and hierarchies?
    Excuse me but although I've read the documentation I can't understand what kind of metadata it refers to...

  • How to run duplicate fields with different read/write capability

    Hello,
    I'm trying to figure out how to have 2 identical fields but with different read / write capabilities.  For example:
    I have a document that has a policy number in textfield1 in the application.  I also have a page footer textfield2 that is identically named as textfield1.  I want the customer to be able to enter their policy number in textfield1, but then i want textfield2 to show that same information but remain locked and read-only.
    How can I best accomplish this?
    Thanks,
    Ryan.

    Hi,
    This doesn't seem to work.
    My field names are policy_number and policy_number2.
    I have entered this script into the field validation for policy_number2.
    event.value = this.getField("policy_number").value;
    It's showing blank in the policy_number2 field.

  • Is there any read-to-use JMF parser for ASX files?

    I am looking for a way to play ASX files with ACELP.net 16 Kbits/s, 16000Hz, Mono audio and Windows Media MPEG-4 Video V3 inside from Java.

    Thanks for the suggestion, Denis. God forbid Windows users actually download an Apple product instead of their inferior Windows apps nd find out what they're missing, right?
    How exactly does Flip4Mac work with FCE? Can I export directly from FCE or Compressor with it? And if it's exported to a .WMV file, will that file have the same high-quality HD image quality that the .264 codec gives in QuickTime? Or will it be automatically down-rezed by exporting to .wmv?

  • Are There Any Good Windows Store Apps For Managing AD Users?

    I'm thinking of buying the $79 HP Stream 7 tablets (1GB RAM 16GB storage) and using them as pocket computers to manage AD users while walking about.
    We could simply run Remote Desktop to access our workstations and use RSAT tools, but it would be nicer if there was a touch friendly interface we could use on a 7 inch screen to easily do tasks such unlock and reset user passwords without dealing with remote
    controlling another PC through the tiny desktop UI.

    > Very sad and embarassing for Microsoft that they don't have any touch
    > based RSAT tools and third party developers don't bother to make them
    > either.
    Move from OnPremise to O365 and you will have an admin app at hand... I
    cannot imagine what administrative tasks in active directory I would
    need to be able to execute on a mobile device...

  • Is there any performance benefit in placing the LR Catalogue on an SSD

    I currently have the LR Catalogue [16 Gb] on a WD Black HDD and read/write is OK but would there be any benefit in using an SSD?
    My DNGs are stored on an HDD and I doubt any significant improvements would be noticed there [plus SSD's don't have the capacity yet].
    Any thoughts/experiences please ?
    LJ

    Lightroom is pretty quick off the mark in terms of its read/write capability but it definitely does get slower [on HDD] when you've amassed 10K or more catalogued items.
    Completely untrue, and if you believe this, it will cause you to do very unnecessary and harmful things to your catalog. People in this and other forum report catalogs of over a quarter of a million images running well. I myself have much fewer images, but still 25,000 images, without catalog slowness.
    If you are experiencing slowness, it is almost definitely not due to the number of images; and you might want to describe in more detail what part(s) of Lightroom are slow, so that a better diagnosis and solution can be found.

  • XML Reader/Writer

    Is there a simple class for Reading an XML file in, getting it's elements/attributes etc, and one for writing to an XML file?
    Here is a simple XML file contents:
    <?xml version="1.0" ?>
    <java>
    <temp value="98.6 F" />
    </java>
    It's just a few lines of basic text. Right now I am just reading/writing using a standard BufferedReader, PrintWriter combo and the logic flows based on a known tag-flow. But
    what if I dont know what and where different tags in a file? Isent there a Reader-Writer for
    this that will collect the tags and their attributes/values for me???

    Hi there,
    Why do you want to re-invent the wheel when some cars running on these wheels already exists.
    There are APIs that specialize in parsing a XML Document to it's shreds.
    Xerces by http://xml.apache.org/xerces is one of them. The choice that you have is either to use the SAX portion of the API or the DOM portion. The easiest alternative is to use neither and go for the JDOM api. http://www.jdom.org.
    If you want to learn more about xml processing with Java I would advise you read Brett McLaughlin's Java/XML book or look at http://www.ibiblio.org

  • Help needed: Search function for custom Repository Manager

    Hi there,
    i'm writing my own Repository Manager for EP 6.0 SP2 PL4.
    I've serious problems getting the search function running. I'm using the 'new', Netweaver-based API.
    I think, there are some general questions to answer:
    - My Repository Manager exposes lots of custom
       properties to the system. I create the properties
       for example using following code:
       IProperty newProp = new StringSingleValueProperty(
         PropertyName.getPropertyName(
                  "{}" + myAttName),
         myAttVal,                         PropertyFlags.constructFlags(
                  true, false, true, false)
        Is there any convention for the propertie's name?
        I think it has to be written in lowercase only?
        Can I use ANY namespace I want instead of the
        empty default namespace? (For example:
    - After indexing my resources (of course, containing my
       custom properties), the TREX-Monitoring screen for my
       index shows all my custom properties in the 'Document
       Properties' area, but all uppercase chars are escaped
       somewhat. Is this OK?
    - Trying to use the index above to search for particular
       resources in my repository by my custom properties
       fails all the time ('no docs found...'); searching for
       any system property works fine. What's the reason?
    - How can I force the (Property-) search uses my
       custom namespace-manager's methods
       isQueryPropertyNameUnderstood() and
       getQueryBuilder()
       to perform a 'pure' property search by the repository
       manager? It seems that the TREX always handles the
       queries by itself, because my methods are never called.
    Thanx for you help,
    Daniel

    I created a new manager and copied the classes exactly from the "simple" example and I see similar behavior. Actually, when I do this, folders are recursively copied, but not files. Again, browsing and viewing of files work fine. Again, I am not seeing any unexpected exceptions.
    The only thing that changed were the names and namespaces. Nothing else at all was changed.
    This makes me think I am missing some configuration somewhere or there is something special about the example project that the wizards are not creating. The only difference I see in the project file is an additional nature (com.tssap.selena.cmf.PatternNature), but I am not sure that is relevant.
    Wow, I am really stumped.

  • FS Repository Manager depth limits - crawling problems

    Ciao a tuti.
    I have some really strange results from my Crawler. Here is the story:
    After Crawling 50000 for indexing I have around 800 docs where I have the Error Type: crawler.
    The interesting thing is that these documents have nothing in common & even via PCD there are "there" but after clicking on it, the message says: the document does not exist.
    So where can I start with the research? Maybe out there has someone a good idea?!
    Originally I thought, that I have a problem with the depth of the file structure, cause the structure is reallly complex. On the other hand I could not found any limitations for the FS Repository Manager.
    Thanx in advance

    Sir or madam -
    First, you may be hitting a URL limit of 256 characters.  Are you using the /irj/go/km/docs path to access the documents, or are you using the old method?
    Second, if you create a CM repository with FSDB persistence, do you have the same issues?
    Third, how deep into the repository does it go before an error is thrown?  Have you tried creating a test index directly to the folder/document in question?
    Good luck!
    Kyle

    Hi Pooja,
    Thanks for the quick reply. I'm actually searching for the document which describes the step by step procedure to write my own Repository Manager. The above link provides me only the example code.
    Actually that document link is still visible in sdn but the page has been moved or removed without updating the link.
