    I'm going to be using my computer for grad school, so I'll be using multiple internet windows plus the Apple versions of Microsoft office all at once.  I'll also be using the computer to watch Netflix.  No gaming or movie-making or anything like that.  So, what kind of difference would the upgraded processor make for me?  I feel like upgrading it would be a waste for me because I'm using pretty basic stuff, but I could be wrong.

  • Are there any technical Differences between stanard R3 and ISU

    Hello everyone,
    I have recently been speaking to a client who is running ISU.  They are asking for assistance with thier landscape from a technical perspective (BASIS and DB).  i.e. monitoring db growth, reorgs, etc.
    Now, I have been working in BASIS for over 10 years now, and am very comfortable with the above rols.  My question however is -  are there any "technical" differences between the standard SAP system, and ISU?  or are the differences mainly seen on the functional side?
    Thank you very much for any insight any of you can provide.
    Kind regards
    Richard Rog

    Hi Richard,
    I have been a Basis administrator for IS-U/CCS systems for 7 years.  The points Juris made are correct.
    There are no new transactions or procedures for maintaining and monitoring an ISU system.  ISU "sits" on top of R/3.  The main ISU transaction for customer contact CIC0 has an HTML component that needs an ITS server.  In a 4.6C system you will need to maintain an external ITS.  In ECC 6.0 you will have an integrated ITS.  The main difference from a Basis perspective is support pack application.
    In 4.6C ISU is an add-in installed in SAINT.  There are conflict resolution support packages (CRT's) that are installed at the same time the SAP_APPL support packages are applied.  In fact SPAM recognizes the ISU add-in and won't let you upgrade APPL (and sometimes Basis) support packs without the CRT's.
    In ECC 6.0 IS-U isn't an add-in any more and has it's own support packs in module IS-UT.  IS-U must be turned on though during an installation or upgrade.  This is done in SPRO with "Activate Business Funcitons".

  • Is there any performance difference in the order of columns referencing index?

    I wish to find out if there is any performance difference or efficiency in specifying those columns referencing index(es) first in the WHERE clause of SQL statements. That is, whether the order of columns referencing the index is important???.
    E.g. id is the column that is indexed
    SELECT * FROM a where a.id='1' and a.name='John';
    SELECT * FROM a where a.name='John' and a.id='1';
    Is there any differences in terms of efficiency of the 2 statements??
    Please advise. Thanks.

    There is no difference between the two statements under either the RBO or the CBO.
    sql>create table a as select * from all_objects;
    Table created.
    sql>create index a_index on a(object_id);
    Index created.
    sql>analyze table a compute statistics;
    Table analyzed.
    sql>select count(*)
      2    from a
      3   where object_id = 1
      4     and object_name = 'x';

  • There is a difference between the document total and its components

    Hi!
    I have an error message "There is a difference between the document total and its components" when I want to create an InventoryGenEntry
    the problem arises from time to time and my customer must do the document two or three times before it is created.
    I have seen in this forum and in notes that this is probably being caused by a Rounding.
    I am using 2 digits for amounts, 4 digits for prices, 6 digits for rates and 3 digits for quantities.
    For information my customer use SAP 2005 and the patch level 46.
    This problem happened only in InventoryGenEntry. how can I modifiy parameters to resolve this problem?
    thank you for your help.
    Best Regards
    Séverine

    Hi Séverine,
    Do you find any additional code added to SBO_SP_Transaction stored procedure. A similar issue with stock transfer fixed in later patch. Please test in latest patch.

  • Is there any actual difference between Release, Debug and Debug Local configurations in SSRS project?

    Is there any actual difference between Release, Debug and Debug Local configurations in SSRS project?
    For example in VC++ Debug build would have all optimization turned off (by default) and included additional Debug information in executable.
    Since there is no executable produced for SSRS - is there any actual difference between configurations? Or are they only for the purpose of deploying to different destination servers?

    Hi JoeSchmoe115,
    The Project Configuration and Configuration Manager is a feature supported by Visual Studio, on which Business Intelligence Development Studio or SQL Server Data Tools is based. We can use Configuration Manager to create and manage sets of project properties
    in project configurations. You are right that the project configurations is only for deployment purpose in a Report Server project.

  • Does anyone know the difference between the Applecare Warranty for the Macbook Pro and the Applecare Protection Plan Auto Enroll 607-8192-B APP FOR MacBook

    Does anyone know the difference between the Applecare Warranty for the Macbook Pro and the Applecare Protection Plan Auto Enroll 607-8192-B APP FOR MacBook

    AFAIK, the difference is that the auto-enroll occurs automatically when you purchase the device and you will have to disburse the cost right there and then. Whereas the other comes in a box, can be purchased separately later and you must manually enroll your device into the system to activate the additional protection. This must occur before the base one year warranty is over.
    So, if you don't want to pay up at the moment you buy the computer, you can wait up to say 11 months and buy the AppleCare warranty extension later. Just be sure to complete the enrollment BEFORE the base warranty is over, else Apple will not honor the extension (all in the fine print). This applies to all devices that offer an AppleCare option: notebooks, desktops, iStuff, etc.

  • Is there any way to change the default font for outgoing text-messages, in "Messages"? (OSX 10.10)

    Is there any way to change the default font for outgoing text-messages, in "Messages"?
    I can change it for one conversation, but then it resets to the default, tiny font.
    The preferences menu only lets me change the conversation font.
    (OSX 10.10)

    Hi,
    As you may remember there used to be a Messages pane to the Preferences where the Font and colour of the Balloons or background and the Font text colour could be changed.
    And there was a Format Menu for character, word and Sentence changes in the current IM or iMessage.
    Those have gone in Yosemite's version of Messages (Despite it retaining the designation of Messages 8 the same as Mavericks' version).
    All that can be done now is set the size of the font and this has been moved to the General Section of the Preferences.
    The Yosemite version has also been fixed to using the Balloons style of send and receiving any type of messages as well.
    Changing the Font would involved editing the Balloon.transcript file.

  • How can I remove the background sound from the headphone jack for my MacBoo

    for my MacBook Air problem adding music intensifier (Panasonic ST-HT1000) to give it an unpleasant sound background that sounds like a whiz, it's not so loud, but it is an unpleasant .. after a short time can get used to, but the fizz does not pass, however, believe that it is a big problem.
    Further I notice that when MacBookAir disconnected from the charger, it remains quieter sound.
    At first thought that the headphone jack (3.5 mm Headphone:
    Connection: 1/8-Inch Jack) or wiere have problem, but tried 3 different cables, but that does change enything, the problem remains.
    When I added iPhonu3GS playing - the background sound were not, then everything is OK!
    How can I remove the background sound from the headphone jack for my MacBook Air 13?

    There is no way to bring that up unless you have it typed in a document. You can use My Support Profile to find a list of serial numbers that have been purchased or registered with your Apple ID.

    What is the little hole next to the headphone jack for? Not the SIM card eject on the side. The similar hole near the headphone jack.

    The hole on the top is your noise cancellation for phone calls and application VOIPs. It may also be used on other kinds of apps such as memos and video recordings.

  • Is there much speed difference between the iMacs?

    Just wondering, if there is any noticeable performance difference between the 1.83 - the 2.0 and the 2.16?
    I'd be surprised to learn that there was (and also, keenly interested to learn).
    My experience is that a dual processor is noticeably more capable than a single processor (regardless of minor increments at the end of the processor number).
    Anyone?

    You are right that it is more about futher differentiating the models than anything else. The speed difference is negligible, but a nice plus is you choose a larger display. Typically you also get a larger standard HD and maybe a better video card and if you add all those things up, the price difference is worth it.

    Hi,
    I'm in the market for a new TV, and as I'm sure you're all aware, there are quite a few options. The subject of this message pretty much says it all. I've heard that the human eye can't percieve the difference between the listed types. Is thatt true or is that just what people that are cheap say? Thanks for any help.

    It depends on the viewing distance and TV size.  What size TV and what will your viewing distance be?
    That said, the price premium for 1080p is so little nowadays that unless you're getting TV around the 32" or smaller range, I would make sure to go for 1080p.

    Is there a huge difference between these two computers?
    I am a complete newbie to macs (although a complete convert as they rock!) but I'm really confused as mine says it's a 2.1 but the specs are for a 2.0. Am I just reading this wrong? I've copy/pasted this from my computer:
    Hardware Overview:
    Model Name: Mac
    Model Identifier: MacBook2,1
    Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
    Processor Speed: 2 GHz
    Number Of Processors: 1
    Total Number Of Cores: 2
    L2 Cache (per processor): 4 MB
    Memory: 1 GB
    Bus Speed: 667 MHz
    Boot ROM Version: MB21.00A5.B06
    SMC Version: 1.17f0
    Serial Number: W8734HN5Z5V
    Sudden Motion Sensor:
    State: Enabled
    It says it's a macbook 2.1 but it has only a 2.0ghz processer, I am completely confused...
    It's only another £90 so would it be worthwhile paying a little bit extra? Is the £789 macbook a better computer, will it last longer, perform better over time?
    Lots of uestions, sorry for being a newbie, any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Karen

    Hey Karen -
    I think that you misunderstood my comment. I was merely referring to the statement from your Hardware Overview that mentioned the fact that you indeed had a 2.0 MacBook to clarify the confusion that you had in reading your specs.
    The processor speed is not an upgradable item. You would need to get a new MacBook in order to increase you processor speed.
    The RAM (you have 1GB) and your Hard Drive (unknown size) are the only upgrades that can be made to your MacBook.
    Don't waste your time with Mac for Dummies....instead, if you are famiar with using MS Windows, go here: http://www.apple.com/support/switch101/
    Hope this helps.
