Is there any tool that export/imports db schema in xml?

Hi all,
Do you know if there is a open soource library/tool that exports the schema of a database in a xml formatted file and then imports it back?
Could you please suggest me one?
thank you in advance, Kostas

What advantage is there to exporting it in XML? What does that buy you? Why isn't importing/exporting the SQL enough? All databases don't treat SQL the same, let alone an XML definition.
Not sure what you're getting at here.
Hibernate can create a database schema from an object model, given the right annotations, using XDoclet. It also helps with portability, because it "knows" about the common database dialects.
Maybe you need to learn Hibernate.

  • Is there a tool that exports and imports Planning Web Forms with securities

    Hi,
Is there a tool that exports and imports Planning Web Forms with securities?
    Besides Planning FormDefUtil.cmd
    OS: Windows2003
    Planning Version: 921
    Thx

I don't think there is any one utility that exports both forms AND security. In version 9.3.1, the ExportSecurity.cmd will export dimensional security and form security. However I seem to recall that earlier versions only gave you the dimensional security, and not the form security. Unfortunately, I don't recall at which version the change was made.
Have you given the ExportSecurity.cmd utility a shot?
    Hope this helps,

Hi, if you need export partial information, you can export the information with TABLES option into export command, there you can specify the tables for export, you must design the plan for the information distribution.

  • Are there any tools that automate the conversion of SSJS to JSP?

What about a "wrapper" servlet to run the SSJS, do they exist? We are upgrading to Iplanted Web Server 6.0 and are looking for alternatives to a re-write

Rhino is an implementation of JS written in Java. I have only a limited amount of knowledge about it, but my understanding is that it might be helpful both in terms of a migration path (allowing you to execute JS from within Java) and in terms of code conversion (converting JS to Java).

Let me know if it is helpful.

  • Exporting/Importing partition schema

    Hi,
We are trying to manage multiple repositories for a project and in
particular we use a devopment/test rep and a production rep ( containing a
    production plans snapshot ).
When a plan is moved from a development repository to the production one,
the partitioning previously done is lost. In this case developers have to
    partition from scratch.
Moreover in our repository management policy ( apart clean up ) , we
destroy periodically development repository and import saved plans in a new
created one. This procedure causes the same problem described before.
Is there any chance to export the partition schema done in development
repository in order to re-apply the partitioning to the same plan in new
    one, using fscript ?
Is there any other way to do it ( maybe via repository hooks and a tool
    application ) ?
    Thanx
    Fab

    Fabrizio,
We have a tool that will do this, and a number of other things for you. It
not only saves partitioning information, but it also:
    * Reads your application defintion, along with the partitioning information
    from the repository,
    * Creates deployment and installation scripts,
    * Analyzes your application for over 20 different performance and
    scalability problems,
    * Captures the supplier plan relationships for each partition as well as
    for the entire application,
    * Graphically shows partitioning structure, similar to partition workshop,
along with all partition and service object properties,
    * Has Web and IIOP property sheets which are read from the application,
    * Saves operational information, such as outage schedules and external
    interfaces,
    * Records special runtime properties of classes in your system
We offer this as part of our "Designing for Deployment" workshop. You can
send me a separate message for information about the workshop and the tool.

  • Is there any way to export IT Resource data from OIM using the export tool?

    Hello,
we are trying to migrate an OIM development environment to a preproduction environment and we need to migrate more than 400 IT Resources. We have exported some IT Resources and when we imported them in the preproduction environment their data was not migrated. Is there any way to export IT Resource data from OIM using the export tool? Or is there any other way to do this without doing it by hand?
    Thank you for your help
    Kind Regards

Well , OIM doesnot provide any such facility to export ITResource data along with ITResource .
Directly updating the DB could be an option ..
    Thanks

  • Are there any specific codecs or import libraries that will make Premiere 6 use more file types?

Are there any specific codecs or import libraries that will allow Premiere 6 to import more file types?  I'm using Premiere 6 on Windows 7.
It seems that the only kind of file that can be imported in to this version of Premiere are certain types of AVI files... even some types of AVIs will import but then will not appear when placed in the timeline... no MPGs, MP4s, WMVs, or anything else will import at all.
Virtually every file that I need to bring in to Premiere 6 has to be converted to AVI with the H.264 codec first.
    Any help would be helpful.
    digi

    Hi Bill and John,
    Thanks for your replies.
My inquiry isn't as much to do with the AVIs that won't import as it is to do with figuring out the way that I can make MPGs, MP4s, MOVs and WMVs import in to Premiere 6.
The AVIs that do import were converted or created using the H.264 codec.  I do know a little about codecs, but I don't hold the PhD in codecs that is apparently required to completely understand them.
Below is the chart from the Premiere Elements 4 page at this link... http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/402/kb402540.html
So, if I understand correctly, Bill is saying the Premeire Elements 4 is actually newer than Premiere 6 and that the Pr Elements apps will actually import more movie file formats than the regular versions of Premiere and Premiere Pro?... for someone trying to learn about these apps, one must admit that this seems to be reverse logic... this would be saying that Adobe gave the cheaper "consumer" versions of Premiere the ability to work with 3 or 4 more movie file formats than the more expensive "pro-sumer" version of Premiere.

The built-in web browser instruction manual in Premiere 6 shows this statement on the "Importing Clips" page, as shown in my screenshot linked above...
"File format support is provided by plug-in software  modules. Over time, additional or updated file formats may be available  from Adobe or other manufacturers, such as QuickTime."
This indicates that additional file format support can be added to Premiere 6 by "plug-in software modules", and that "over time, additional or updated file formats" were predicted to become available that would be supported by the file format manufacturers, such as Adobe themselves and other manufacturers such as QuickTime.
Since that was written ten years ago or more, there has certainly been the chance for these additional "plug-in software modules" to be developed "over time"... so I'm asking, "Where are they available?"
What I'm saying is, I will do my homework to earn at least my Bachelor's degree in codecs, but more than an education in codecs, I need to find these mysterious, "plug-in software modules" for Premiere 6 that Adobe wrote about and referred to over ten years ago.
Thanks for any clues as to where to locate these "plug-in software modules".

I have huge lag with Safari's Reading List using a rMBP. I have probably 80 articles saved, which is likely the cause of the lag. Is there any way to export that list of articles so as to be able to delete them from Reading List but still have a record of the articles I intend to read?

I'm currently dealing with this issue myself, except that my rMBP has NO articles in the reading list.  It's a brand new rMBP too, purchased just this week, with the 2.6 Ghz Processor & 16GB of RAM.
Let's see what we can find.  I may just take it back to the Apple Store.

Nothing gets imported.  Simply restore the ENTIRE iTunes folder to the new/restored computer.
Download and install iTunes from Apple's website.
The first time iTunes is launched, assuming the ENTIRE iTunes folder is restored to the correct location, it will launch and be exactly as it was prior to the comptuer issues.  If for some reason this does not work, close iTunes, hold the SHIFT key while launching iTunes and a prompt will appear to choose or create a new iTunes library.  At this point simply point iTunes to the correct location for the existing iTunes library.

  • Q: Is there any tool/api that generates a db shema programmatically

    hi all!
I am trying to find a tool which can construct a database schema during the running of an application. In general, the user will define the structure of the new database. When the user click a button the code will generate the database. Do you know any tool that is capable to do this task?
I visited the torque, apache project, but I realized that the database schema is created by the ant make tool. I dont want to use an external program to create the db just only something like that.... dbSchema.create()

I searched in the hibernate site for something similar
to that i want but i didn't find anything. From the
hibernate site I can conclude that the hibernate use
an already created database in order to map the
    database with java objects.
If I am wrong please correct me.
If hibernate can create a database from an xml file,
please give me some useful links.
thank you in advance, kostashibernate can do what you want: it has things like schemaUpdate, export... and do what you want. you need to spend a few days on this, though.
