Is there any viable screen mirroring method ?

Im developing an device, which is meant to ( among other stuff ) mirror screen of my Windows Phone. That's it. The faster's the better. But ~5fps would be just fine. After a long trip through valleys of documentations and random topics, I've managed to find
out its not that simple. As far as I know, creating a bitmap screenshots ( constantly ) in background is impossible ( ok, its possible, but I am allowed to make screenshots of my app, not others apps ). Actually any other programmatic way of mirroring screen
is impossible. I see only two paths left ( please tell me I'm wrong ). Miracast or investigating "Project my screen" app. Second option seems to be problematic since, the device I'm developing have limited computing power, which is already taken
by other processes. So the Miracast... the simplest way would be just buying a dongle, and that's it. Plug it to power, then simply pass HDMI signal to the screen. But the problem is, how will I create input to the screen ? My device have to mirror screen
and touch input. Im getting out of ideas of solving this stuff. Isn't there really any viable way of mirroring a screen ? Thanks for answers !

Are you sure ? Miracast have UIBC ( user input back channel ). You can find two-way miracast connections examples movies at web :) So there is a hope. No matter how much work to do - it has to be done. About "Project my screen" app - I disagree.
You are literally mirroring screen. I've checked it. I can use mouse on my PC to control my USB connected Lumia 820. I would love to hear, that such simple two-way connection is possible with Miracast. It would mean that including some Miracast dongle in my
project is a solution. It would be only temporary. After resolving every other problems I would buy access to Miracast documentation, and maybe manage to design own Miracast dongle :) It's too early to call it, but I think It's the only way. I've readen
that Miracast have this UIBC... but I cant any information about it on sites with dongle's specifications. Would it work ?

CMD + SHIFT + 3 = whole screen
CMD + SHIFT + 4 = you can select a area
CMD + SHIFT + 4 and after that press space bar = select a window
That will take a screenshot to your Desktop. If you additionally hold down the CTRL key the picture is taken to the clipboard and could be pasted to a program (like Preview or Photoshop ...)

Just to add this : iWeb -- the app itself -- is still supported,updated only months ago and as part of the ilife '11 DVDs still widely spread even though it is not sold on the AppStore it is official part of iLife. It runs in Lion and there is zero issues with the app. So a training makes sense, doesn't it ?.
They would only to exclude the "publish to me.com" part to be up to date for courses and trainings :-≠

There are 2 views :
i) Mandatory Attributes ' view(V1)
ii) Button' s View..(V2)
1. Create a method in Component Controller.( M1).
2. Goto V2 . In the Action Handler method of Button , call method M1 of component controller.
3. Write your Code in M1 instead of V2 method.
4. Create an EVENT ( E1 ) in component controller.
5. Fire this event from M1 before executing Action Code.
6. Now Add the event handler method of E1 in V1 ( i.e. Mandatory attributes view. ) ..........clear????? .. set "METHOD TYPE" = Event Handler. instead of Method.
7. In this event handler method in V1 , write the "check_mandatory_attribute_view" method.
8. use necessary flags..

Are there any free screen recorders for games

Dont say use quicktime because it *****. I would really like to know if anyone knows of a free screen recorder that is really good for games.

There are several free trials. ScreenFlow, Camtasia, Snapz Pro x. But just so you know, most programs run through quicktime. You can only record in 1440x900 as a max for mac at the moment. I have retina display and i'm looking for something to record in 2880x1800. So for now mac is limited to 720p. I tried Quicktime first and thought it was ****.. but after using every other program, they are all the same.

That one is done with Camtasia to record both Cam and screen. They both have the same quality, just one has a webcam. =P
The good thing about Quicktime is it saves the file as a movie file and you can use an outside editing program. But with Camtasia and ScreenFlow you have to use their editing program or Render it and use an outside program, then render again.

Is there any way to get full control of my photos on my new ipad?

Love the screen on the new ipad but I'm as frustrated as ever with Apple not letting me control my photos on my ipad, making their 'post pc' claims completely false in my opinion.
Firstly, new photos I take on my iphone I can only get onto my ipad albums by photo stream which is a compressed image, so I have to still connect to my pc and do it that way. Is there any way around this?
Secondly, any photos from previous albums on my computer added to my ipad via itunes, are fixed - I can't delete or move photos around. I know if you connect a camera to an ipad it imports the photos and gives you full control of them. Is there any viable workaround to get the ipad to treat all my old photos (in albums by folder) as new photos, ie full control to delete, move around in albums etc without creating duplicates?
New iPad - now frustrating in HD!

Is there any better-looking OSD than xosd?

I recently got into xosd, but find it rather ugly. So I'm wondering if there's any other OSD implementation that looks a little less blocky. I've heard of notify-osd, but I'd rather do without having a daemon running all the time.
So is there any viable alternatives?

I think you cannot go without a deamon for notifications. You could use the xosd library and program your own look and feel of notifications. In example, I did my notification system like this:

Is there any way to get a glass cover for my high res anti glare display?

This may sound silly but I wasn't expecting the high res anti glare macbook pro to not have a glass cover over it. to many this might not be an issue, but I need to be able to use a digital drawing pen over top the surface of my monitor. My previous macbook was the first of the unibodies from 2008 and that works fine. But I guess I should have gone with the hi res glossy. So are there any solid screen protectors available or am I going to have to see about returning this computer. :|

Why don't you instead just use a piece of rounded edge glass in the rare times when your doing that?
Your one of the very few that has to actually draw on their screen, most use a drawing pad Walcom tablet, iPad or import a scan or image into Adobe Illustrator rather than hold their hand up to the screen for hours.
Don't you know you can command shift 3 or 4 to snapshot a image of anything on the screen? SnapZ Pro X will record video?
Seems to me your doing things the wrong way.
The anti-glare MacBook Pro is awesome when you take it to various places and can still see the screen and can't adust the enviroment to suit.

Is there any way to import Print Shop files?

Are there any plugins or conversion methods to that can help import Print Shop files into InDesign?

None that I know of. That application is intended for home use, and does not
have much functionality in reguard to sending files to be printed on remote
computers. I've never even seen a decent PDF file coming from that program.

COMMAND-SHIFT-3 saves an image of the entire screen to the Desktop.
COMMAND-SHIFT-4 saves a selection of any part of the screen to the Desktop.
The Grab utility in your Utilities folder provides more extensive operations for saving screen snapshots.
MacUpdate or CNET Downloads are sources for software where you should find utilities for doing a direct Print Screen operation. None is built-in to OS X.

Is there any way to set up a development site?

Basically there are quite major product restructures and template updates needed for a client store.
They do not want to take the main site offline while these changes are made however, which ma y take a number of days/weeks.
Is there any way to mirror a Business Catalyst site to a temporary development are, to allow for major changes without taking the main site offline?
I can't see anyway without exporting all data & templates into a new BC site, then changing everything there before importing back into the live site.
Any help much appreciated.

Here is what we do. First we use Business Catalyst to replicate the site giving it a similar name or something to reflect it is for development. I believe you have to be a Paid BC Partner to have this functionality. Then in Dreamweaver, we add a testing server to the original site. For the testing server, we use the new site's FTP information and everything.
Now for the workflow, in Dreamweaver you just make changes to your local files and only connect to the testing server rather than the remote server for all uploads. The sync buttons in the file manager turn orange and blue when you are connected to the testing server and purple when you are connected to the remote server.
We have Dreamweaver set to automatically upload on save and it uses the testing server to fully render the BC modules in Live View. Of course, before you start making any changes locally I suggest a full sync and backup. Whenever you are finished and ready to commit all changes, just sync your local files with the remote server using Dreamweaver's FTP sync feature. Just don't connect to the remote server until you are ready to make all your changes.
If you have to make a quick change to the remote server but not ready to commit all your other changes yet, we usually just make those changes directly on the remote server in BC's web interface since it's only usually minor bug fixes or minor content edits. You'll still have to set some sort of restrictions on people making edits to things though or maybe use some type of Version Control system.
