Is there any way I can retrieve photos from my iphone 4 using a new computer (dont have access to the one its synced to) and the screen on the iphone is broken but the phone works? Help!

I've broken the screen on my iphone 4 but it lights up so i know its still working, I synced it to a laptop I dont own anymore
and my new laptop wont allow me access to the iphone even though it knows its an iphone and its plugged into the usb.
I've some irreplacable pictures on the phone which i'm desperate not to lose so please help! or is my best bet
sending the phone off to have the screen replaced?
