Is there any way of doing a mass conversion of RTF to .doc or .docx?
Have 200+ RTF documents that I'd like to convert to Word's .doc or .docx format.
Is there any program (or method) of doing this en masse?
I'd rather not sit here slogging through the process of manually converting each of them, one-at-a-time!
No kidding! I'll look for that. Ah, Sample Automator Workflows right off the Apple Script menu on which I've parked a few that I had written.
I'll give it a whirl and see how it does!
Much thanks!

In iTunes, is there any way to do a mass copy and paste of song titles from the "name" column to the "sort name" column? I know it can be done with individual titles but I have over 6,000 titles in my library.
Thank you. I have heard of Logic Pro 7, but I have never personally used it. I'm still growing in the world of Composition, and I know that it is something I will be studying in one of my Computer Music classes coming up for my degree. I think it is something I will look into getting once I can justify the price of it. I guess for the time being, I will continue to play and grow in my ability to use and take advantage of GB, and then see what I can do about or with Logic Pro when I'm ready. The thought of spending $1000 for a program is hard to bite, because I've already spent a lot to produce my music, not only electronic music, but also chamber music and so on. I had no idea it would be so expensive to dive deep into the world of composition! lol.
Finale 2007: $500
Sibelius 4: $500
Jam Packs: $400
Midi Keyboard Interface: $100
PowerBook: $1700
Printer for printing scores and analysis: $150
Logic Pro 7: Oy!
As you can see it adds up very quickly...that doesn't even include my personal instruments and study materials.
Thank you for your input, as I haven't really worked much with LP, and therefore didn't know which features are available. I will talk with some of my Composition buddies, and professors and see what they have to say as well, and who knows, I may be able to get the express version through one of them. -
Is it possible to copy a DVD into iTunes and then upload it to my iPad? Is there any way of doing this?
Sure, just use Handbrake to encode the DVD movie into a format that is playable on iTunes and on your iPad:

Once the encoding is complete, move the movie file from your desktop into iTunes and then sync your iPad. Presto, the movie is on your iPad! -

TS2755 Is there any way to recover an iMessage conversation directly to your iPhone?
I have managed to delete a full iMessage conversation that meant a lot to me. Is there any way of recovering this directly back on to my iPhone? I'm not all that clued up with what I have backed-up and how to use recovery etc.
I have done a back up of my phone and luckily it was yesterday afternoon so wont be losing much if I restore it. However this brings me to my next query, I tried to recover the iPhone however it told me there is not enough space on the iPhone to do so. Does this mean I have to clear the iPhone and then recover it?

Is there any way to get a message conversation into a document to be printed?
I work in a printery and I took a job for a customer who had printed all her emails between her and who I can safely assume was her partner. Anyway I thought that would b a sweet present to give my beloved. However we have only ever messaged each other via iPhone 4 and I have absolutely every message we have sent each other since we got our phones. So I was wondering if there is anyway to copy the messages to make this keep sake?? An app or anything??
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Jessi'm afraid you can only try copy and paste out those messages 1 by 1 to notes, pages or any similar apps. which sounds troublesome though.
If you would like to print them out, a compatible printer is needed then u can print them out directly from ur iphone through those apps i mentioned.
Compatible printers can be found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4356 -
My wife and I share a computer but have separate Windows ID's. We also each have an iTunes account, using two separate Apple ID's. We have always struggled with the headache of getting music that one of us added (via purchase, downloading CD, etc.) to the other person's music library. A friend suggested we consolidate and share the same library. Sounded like a good idea so we moved the libraries to a public folder, consolidated them, etc. But now when one of us adds music to the library, the other person still has to do an "add file/folder to library" in order for them to be able to see it. This is exactly the step we were hoping to eliminate by this consolidation. Does anyone know if there is a way to make this happen automatically, or will we have to continue to do this every time?
Also, ended up with a lot of duplicates in the process of consolidating. Is there any way to identify and "mass delete" these? It will take a while to go through them all individually as the library is somewhat substantial (approx. 16k songs)
Hardware is Windows 8, one iPod classic, one iPod Nano (obviously only selected playlists on this one). All hardware and iTunes running latest software.
Any information would be appreciated! It sounds like you are using two independent libraries with a common media folder, whereas the plan would have been to ensure that both profiles were using the same library library database. Although you can place this within the Public folder I would normally create a shared library at the root of a drive, e.g. at X:\iTunes where X: is the drive that you want to use. See Make a split library portable for information on moving the library around back into a standard shape.
As for duplicates, Apple's official advice on duplicates is here... HT2905: How to find and remove duplicate items in your iTunes library. It is a manual process and the article fails to explain some of the potential pitfalls such as lost ratings and playlist membership.
Use Shift > View > Show Exact Duplicate Items to display duplicates as this is normally a more useful selection. You need to manually select all but one of each group to remove. Sorting the list by Date Added may make it easier to select the appropriate tracks, however this works best when performed immediately after the dupes have been created. If you have multiple entries in iTunes connected to the same file on the hard drive then don't send to the recycle bin.
Use my DeDuper script if you're not sure, don't want to do it by hand, or want to preserve ratings, play counts and playlist membership. See thisthread for background, this post for detailed instructions, and please take note of the warning
to backup your library before deduping.
(If you don't see the menu bar press ALT to show it temporarily or CTRL+B to keep it displayed.)
The most recent version of the script can tidy dead links as long as there is at least one live duplicate to merge stats and playlist membership to and should cope sensibly when the same file has been added via multiple paths.

Is there any way to put deletion indicator on sales order
Hi All
We are using MTO assembly order concept in our environment. Every sales order item will automatically create a production order. And there were thousands of productions orders which does not have any deletion indicator on them. So when I am running product costing jobs on these production orders, the jobs are running for ever. If I can put a deletion indicator on the production order then my jobs will run faster. To my knowledge, I cannot put the deletion indicator on the assembly order directly and it has to come from Sales order. I do not want to physically delete sales order-But I want to put some kind of deletion indicator on the sales order which will put a deletion indicator on the production order. Is ther any way of doing that?
Thnaks in adavnce for looking into thisHi Michael
Does the rejection of a line item have any impact on any other scenarios after delivery doc and billing doc wass created?. My manager seems to be doubdtful abt this approach .... does all the companies follow this scenario?.
Note 308513 says-Deletion indicator should be kept for all the old production orders, but it does not say anything abt the assembly order. -
I wasn't looking at what I was doing and I deleted an imessage conversation and I havent figured out how to get it back yet. I have my ipod backed up with itunes but not icloud. It is onlt that one conversation though and I really want to get it back. Is there any way possible to get my conversation back on my ipod?
If it was there and you creaded an iPod backup via iTunes then restore from that backup. Otherwise y are out of luck.
Autosyncing
To help prevent the last backup from being overwritten and thus erasing the Messages from the last backup turn off autosyncing so that you have to overtly start a sync. To turn off go iTunes>Preferences>Devices and check the box that says "Prevent iPods...". -

There is no 'Erase and Install' command on a Mac with a Recovery Partition (Command+R), please check your research again. -

Is there any way I can talk to an iPod employee to get help?
I have problems with my iPod nano that nobody on the discussion board can answer... Is there any way I can have a conversation with an administrator or somebody who can help me?
nano Windows 2000iPod is a music player. iPod does not have employees.
Apple, the company who makes the iPod has employees.
This forum is for users.
I have problems with my iPod nano that nobody on the discussion board can answer
It's been just over an hour. Give it some time.
You posted back in February but did not respond to that post. I take it that your problem with the iPod not turning on was resolved?
As for your fixing your current problem (skipping songs), do these play okay in iTunes?
Have you tried Restoring the iPod? -
Is there any way of creating a wish list?
I often see songs I would like to purchase but not at the time I see them and would like to compile a list which I can then add to and purchase at a later stage. Is there any way of doing this within I Tunes or do I have to have loads of stickies on my desktop!
Just create a playlist entitled "wish list". You can drag unpurchased tunes into there and buy them when you want. Note however, that racks don't always stay in the iTMS forever.

Is there any way to rollback mass changes in Oracle 11i Fixed Assets?
Hi there,
We are currently undergoing a massive change in assets depreciation rate with amortization date starting from 01-jan-13. To achieve this we decided to use MassTransactions -> Changes in Oracle Fixed Assets.
There is a preview available, which shows the results on the assets that are affected as well as the changes that we have decided to make. On the other hand, the preview does not consider the accounting results of the change so there is no way to see how the depreciation is affected.
However, someone could see the results using the what-if analysis, but in that case there is no option to use the amortization date in order to see the changes that the adjustment will create.
The only way we could really see the final results is to perform the mass change and then do a test depreciation and see the results. But in case where something is not acceptable by us, is there ANY way to rollback/undo the mass changes we did in the specific period?
If there is no way to do this from the UI, is there any other from the db? ( I know that messing with assets is like playing with fire )
Thanks and Regards,
GeorgeHi, You may find this thread helpful : How to compare two oracle database schemas
