Is there any way to load music from my computer not purchased from itunes to my iPad?

Is there a way to load music onto my iPad that I did not purchase from iTunes?  I have loaded songs from CDs I purchased onto my computer and want to load them in my iPad.  Is this possible and how is it done?

Is there a way to load music onto my iPad that I did not purchase from iTunes?
yes.
how is it done?
the easiest way is to create a playlist with the tunes you want on the iPad and sync that playlist to it.

  • Is there any way to put music from itunes onto your 5th generation ipod touch without running iTunes 11?

Hi everyone...hoping someone can help me!
I have an older Macbook (I think 2008?) and I have Snow Leopard 6.8 but now the iTunes store is saying I cannot download Mountain Lion because my computer doesn't support it. I recently got a new iPod (the newest iPod touch) and would like to use it to actually listen to music as opposed to just using it for apps and Skype! Is there any way to get around this issue?
    Thanks for the help!

iTunes 11 is compatible with Mac OS X 10.6.8, and that iPod touch model is compatible with iTunes 10.7.

  • Is there any way to transfer music from iTunes, which is on my iPad, to my iPod nano?

I was told I could use iCloud on my iPad to automatically transfer my music, but I have an iPod nano, and that won't work. And I only have my iPad, not a laptop or PC.

Not directly, no.  You can only really transfer via iCloud or iTunes.  Even then it isn't "transferring it" from iPad to the nano but in fact syncing the nano to the same iTunes library as used with the iPad, or downloading from iCloud to both devices (theoretically in this case).

Yes.  Sign in to the iTunes Store with the same Apple ID you used to buy the music in settings on the phone.
Then tap on "purchased" in the iTunes app on the phone and download the music to your new iPhone.

  • Is there any way to load music onto my iPad without going to the computer and iTunes?

    Hi,
My iPad is sync's with iTunes over WiFi. Is there any way of pulling songs/albums down to the iPad from my iTunes music collection (not iTunes purchases)?
Or am I forced to have to drive this from a seat in front of iTunes directly?
    Thanks
    Phil

The sync manually is fine. I don't use iTunes match. I just want to drive the selection of songs and the sync from the ipad rather than from the computer. There are 5 iPads in the home owned by different family members with different music tastes. It would be good if they could make the selections themselves.
The goal is to have the songs synchronised with the iPad so that they are available away from the home and off of a network.
    Cheers

  • Is there any way to transfer music from a library to an Apple ID?

A couple of months ago, my Apple ID was hacked. I had to get a new one because whoever hacked it changed the password and the email and it didn't even show up in Apple's database when I called them. My problem is that I have A LOT of songs that I bought with my old ID. If anything happens to my computer, I dont want to lose all of them. Is there any way to transfer at least the PURCHASED songs in my library to my new ID? I don't know if the Apple guy had any idea what I meant when I asked him this back when it all happened, but he said there was and I haven't been able to find it...

    Back up the purchases.

  • Is there any way to delete songs from iTunes and still have them on my iPod

I'm trying to free up some space on my computer by deleting some songs off of iTunes. Is there any way that I can delete songs off of iTunes but still be able to have them on my iPod when I connect it to my computer? Thanks.

    Hey there,
In order to make this possible, you have to set your iPod up to manually manage music and videos. This method can be very risky and you increase your risk of losing all your music if your iPod dies. I would recommend investing in an external hard drive to keep your music on.
For more help instructions on how to accomplish this, I would check out this older thread. Hope it helps.

  • Is there any way to share music from my itunes library with a iphone not synced with my mac?

I use my itunes with my Iphone, But my husband has an iphone also and wants some music from my library to be put on his phone. How can i do this without transfrring his iphone to my itunes and visa versa?

No. Ignore the above post as it is completely wrong, & the poster has no idea what he/she is talking about. By design, an iPhone will sync or manually manage iTunes content with ONE computer at a time. Any attempt to do so with a second computer will result in ALL iTunes content being first erased from your phone, to be replaced with the content from the second computer.

  • Can no longer download itunes music. Says all content will be lost. No longer on original computer. Is there any way I can download from itunes without losing content.

I can no longer download from itunes on ipod. It is not original computer and new computer message from itunes is I will lose all content on ipod if I continue to download. Is there anyway around this? Also have not updated ipod, is that important.

You can transfer you iTunes purchases to your new computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
You can only sync to one computer/iTunes library. You can manage music amond different computers by:
Using iPhone, iPad, or iPod with multiple computers
If you wnat to make the new computer your syncing computer you must restore the iPod.
    - See if you can make a backup of the iPod on the new computer by right clicking on the iPod in iTunes and select backup.  If successsful, restore the iPod from that backup after tansfering your iTunes purchases to the new computer.
    - If you can't make a backup copy/move the backup file from the old computer, That file is located:
    Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
    Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
    Windows Vista and Windows 7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
You may have to turn off hide hidden files.
If you do not have the backup file you have to restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod and sync your stuff to the iPod.  You will loss all your app data.

  • Is there a way to edit music from itunes to use in an iphoto slideshow

I would like to use a section of a song for a slideshow I am making, but only want to use part of the song. Is there a way to edit the song? If so, how do I do this?

    Christine:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Not with iTunes or iPhoto. You can edit a track in iTunes to play only a selected portion but that editing does not carry over to use in iPhoto.
You can use a 3rd party audio editor like Amadeus Pro to select the portion of the track you want to use and create a new file with it. Import the new file into iTunes and use in iPhoto. Some users have suggested using Garageband if you've installed it. It takes up too much disk space for me and I prefer using Amadeus Pro.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
