Is there any way to log off automatically from a WIFI connection every time the device is turned off or goes into sleep mode.

I have a bunch of Apple devices in my house (kids) and don't like the idea of all these devices (iPads, iPod touches, iPhones) always being connected to my home WIFI. Ideally, I would prefer the devices connect automatically when they are in use by a human and log off the network when they (the devices) go to sleep mode or are turned off.

This is not an answer, more of a question. I know that when a pad goes to sleep, it drops the connection. We all remember the thousands of posts from folks who had trouble re establishing the connection after waking up in the early days. What is different now is the use of push, and notifications. If you have these enabled, doesn't that mean that the wifi needs to stay active?
I notice that I have notifications on the screen that came in while asleep, and I can only believe that the wifi saw them. This is different from the old behavior or re grabbing the wifi.
So, to Pam, on one the devices you are concerned about, turn off notifications, fetch and push, put it to sleep, and see if it drops off the network. I am kind of curious.
By the way, having the wifi active has not shown me any battery usage. The router certainly does not care. Security is at the router end, so if somebody wants to hijack my signal, it does not matter if the pad is active or not. So I guess I am not clear either on what your issue might be.

If you did not activate Find My iPhone on the device when you had it, you will not be able to track it. The Find My iPhone app has nothing to do with it. That is only for trying to track another iOS device with it. Log into www.icloud.com and if you cannot see the device, you did not have Find My iPhone activated. If you see the device, but it says offline, then it could either be powered off or the battery dead. There is nothing that you can do without the phone in your hand about activation. Did you have a passcode on the device? Did you send a lost/wipe command? Do you have iOS 7 on the device. If you had iOS 7, then the phone cannot be restored and activated without your Apple ID and password. The device would be worthless to the thief. Change all of your passwords for accounts that you had on the phone.

No app is required.
- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.

Is there any way to make files created from xml plugin (Incat) to ignore the plugin

I originally created my catalog files using CatalogStudio database which then created the files via xml. We had so many files become corrupt in the CatalogStudio database that we decided to quit using it and just create our files directly into Indesign. Unfortunately when we reset our system to operate on the original settings we deleted the old CatalogStudio software. Now when we open the Indesign files they look for the Incat plugin. We can still open them but now functions such as page numbering won't work. Does anyone know a way of getting around this problem?

I tried to mark your answer as correct because it worked. I hesitated to contact the company which had set up the xml application because we had ended our relationship but I, on your advice, I did anyway. They were very nice, sent me the plugins with instructions how to install and it fixed everything. Unfortunately, when I tried to mark your answer no selections were available to me.

It seems to me that when my iphone 4S downloaded IOS6 I didn't have to type in my password everytime I downloaded an app. Now I am back to typing in the password on my iphone5.

Unless you are downloading new apps, there shouldn't be a need to key in your password.
iOS 6 enables app updates without keying in a password.

Is there any way of sharing my Macbook Pro's Wifi connection to iPhone 4 (Not Using iPhone as hotspot for laptop the other way around)

So a nasty smash destroyed both Front & Back of my iPhone 4, and since having them replaced the Wifi signal has been really weak.
I have seen other posts about screen replacement having to be done by going through the antenna, so something could be missing, or done incorrectly during the screen repair. Will definately be taking it back to the shop and finding out if It was put back together properly.
In the meantime I was wondering if it is possible to share my Macbook Pro's Wifi (always full signal in my house) directly to my iPhone either using USB cable or through bluetooth. It's not been too much of a problem but it would be nice to use my iPhone in bedroom using the Macbooks good signal.
Note: The replacement front screen on iPhone has a small gap >1mm between the screen and centre metal casing on the left side just above the Silent/Loud Switch, which can be noticed by light leaking through the gap. The metal casing also still has a small dent between the volume down buttons and silent/loud switch, again nothing drastic 1mm maximum

I can create groups in my contacts list, but I have not been able to figure out how to email a specific group. I am assuming since I can create a group I should be able to email that group by typing in its name in the "to" box of my email. However, that does not work. Is there any way to do this?

Please check you contact name in the device and verify if the names does not start with none alphabetic characters (e.g. @, &, *, etc). This characters will actually stop the sync process and will not be able to successfully complete the transfer of data. Do the same thing with the contact data you have online just to be sure..
If that it still doesn't work, delete your Google account on the device, restart, and then recreate the same account.

Your iCloud backup includes your camera roll photos and videos by default (unless you excluded it from the backup in settings). To recover them, you would need to restore the backup to a replacement iPhone (or iPod touch) as explained here: iCloud: Restore your iOS device from iCloud. (You couldn't recover them by restoring the backup to an iPad, however.)
Be aware that Apple will delete iCloud backups after 180 days of inactivity so you'll want to do this before this expires.

you can't reverse the process, once you accepted there is no other way, if you sync it to your itunes library in your computer it will automatically update the updated app as well.
What you can try though is delete the app from your iPad and try syncing it to your itunes library but if you set up iCloud it may update the app automatically

Hi, my PC system is Window XP Pro SP2, HP xw8400 Workstation w/ 2G Ram. And the PC has a Digidesign Pro Tools HD 1 audio system installed.
My problem is that after Quicktime player lauches, it will occupy the Pro Tools HD's hardware. And if I want to start Pro Tools software, "digidesign hardware is in use by another application." warning will occur and Pro Tools software will then quit. BTW, Digidesign's audio driver is not multi-clients compatible.
I have set Quicktime player's audio playback device to PC motherboard's audio device, and system's audio device is also motherboard's audio device, I even have checked the "use default device only" option. I can't understand why Quicktime player still occupies Digidesign's hardware, even it plays back audio through motherboard's audio device.
Though I can quite Quicktime player before lauching Pro Tools software, I still feel it's annoying and inconvenient, and want to know some ways to solve this problem.
Anyone can help? Thanks in advance. I have asked for help in Digidesign's offcial forum, no response.
BTW, the Quicktime player version on my system is 7.6.5, and each time Quicktime player launches, the sample rate led on the Digidesign's audio interface will flash, indicating that QT player is accessing Digidesign's hardware.

You are missing something simple but lets get it to stop as you want. Go to Settings/General/Bluetooth turn it off.

for your explanation i understand that calling a ITS service should automatically redirect to BSP page - in such a case you can just use url redirection by using meta tag or reidrect using javascript.
