Is there any way to make the cursor appear larger in Mac OS X?

Wow, love my 27" screen, but have trouble finding the cursor! Is there any way to make the cursor appear larger? Perhaps adjustable for fine print capture?
Thanks!

System Preferences -> Universal Access -> Mouse -> Cursor size
However, I prefer using Mouse Locator (free download)

I like this Mouse Locator Graphic

I also enjoy my 27" iMac. It is just so nice withing on it.

    Sure open Sent folder.
Just above first message is an icon titled Sort By Date followed by a downward pointing arrow.
Click on the arrow and select "To" from the list.

The quickest way is to print to a new PDF and use shrink to fit. Be sure you set the paper size in the printer properties. Normally this is not recommended, but it is a quick approach. You would loss any bookmarks and other markup with the print.

Nope, afraid not. The only third-party utility that you might look at is LionScrollBars 0.5.4. You can search for others at MacUpdate or CNET Downloads.

Is there a way to make the icons/words larger on the screen without changing the screen resolution?

If you right-click in the top of title bar of any  Finder window there is an option to un-check 'use small icon size', though toggling between the two makes little difference on my screen.
Another trick is you can zoom the whole screen by holding down the 'control' key and using a two-finger swipe up on the trackpad to enlarge, down to go back to normal.

  • Since downloading the 2013 Keynote upgrade, the slide image size on handouts with 3 slides per page option is very small. Is there a way to make the slide size larger while still keeping 3 slides per page   lines?

With the new Keynote upgrade (version 6.1), the slide image size on handouts is very small, which makes it difficult to read slide content when compiling lecture notes for students. Is there a way to make the slide size larger while still keeping to a format of 3 slides per page with lines?

A number of posts have reported the same issue, two workarounds:
    1
check the paper handling options or equivalent in your print dialogue box and set to scale to fit

in the Keynote option, in the dropdown menu in the Print section, select Individual Slides
then choose Layout, and set the number of pages, when printed you will have multiple pages on a single sheet.

  • I have the silver apple tv. I just purchased a new computer with Windows 7. Is there any way to make the 2 compatable?

I have a silver Apple TV. I just purchased a new PC with Windows 7 on it. Now my apple tv won't communicate with the new PC. Is there any way to fix this or will it only work with systems up to Windows Vista?? Please help.

I seem to be stalking you tonight AC
    Or vice versa ;-)
I'm actually quite peeved about all this iCloud stuff, shafting of MobileMe members with no clarity about long term availability of features many pay for above and beyond e-mail/contacts/calendars (my family pack renewed a couple of weeks ago, this is just like the .Mac transition debacle), US only rollouts of redownloading music purchases to iTunes (like the AppleTV global content apartheid we see), continual need to upgrade to latest hardware to run iOS 4/5, older pre Core 2 Duo machine unable to run Lion.......there's a pattern and I'm getting rather fed up with Apple dumping support for things.
Oh and while I'm at it how about the situation that those who've purchased using multiple Apple IDs cannot use the Cloud for more than one ID at a time, and changing disables the ability to change back for 90 days - I'm not one but there are many users who have more than one ID because they've changed e-mail addresses or have devices used by more than one family member.
With all the hoo-hah surrounding Sony getting hacked, I'm not honestly sure I want my stuff in the Cloud for Apple or anyone else to peruse.

  • I need to change the size of the view for easier reading.  Is there a way to make the page view larger without affecting the form?

Hi Guys, good product beginning however it's not as good as many of the other Adobe product's workspaces.  I cannot change the size of the view during form design work, so it's a visual strain to work in Forms Central.  Is there a way to modify the view (not affecting the width, size or font when presented on website or on paper)?

In Photoshop CC 2014 (Windows only) it is possible to use a setting of 200% to scale the UI. On some monitors it improves readability and on others it cuts part of the application screen. To give it a try go to:
Edit >> Preferences >> Experimental Features
Put a check-mark in the box and click OK
Then close PS and re-start for the change to take effect.

  • Is there any way to make the compass heading in Maps more accurate?

I find myself perpetually annoyed by the inaccuracy of the iPhone 5 compass when I'm using Maps.  Here are my main issues:
    1) When I am at rest (perhaps in a parking lot or driveway) and start directions to an address, it rarely starts the map out pointing in the right direction - making it difficult to tell whether I should turn right or left coming out of the parking lot.  Of course, once I start moving I can see whether I'm moving in the right direction (and half the time I'm not - no snarky comments, please).  It really annoys me that the internal compass can't figure out and take into account which way I'm pointing when I'm at rest.  So I can immediately tell which was to turn.
    2) When I am moving, and I tap the purple location icon until it enters compass mode one of two things usually happens - both really annoying.  Either it asks me to wave the phone around in a figure-8 (which it does often) or it doesn't set me moving towards the top of the map but instead as much as 45 degrees off from that (sometimes even a full 90 degrees).  It's annoying to have to disconnect my phone from power - while I'm driving - and wave it around.  And it's super annoying that it almost NEVER points the map in the right direction - nor is the error consistent but often spins around all over the place.
Now, I do recgonize that when my phone is mounted on my dash it is angled slightly towards me and thus not truly pointing straight ahead.  I might then expect a slight variation in map heading due to do that - but I would expect it to be consistent, and it is not.
So, is anyone else having these problems and has anyone found a way to improve the compass/map performance?
    Thanks.

I think this is an ongoing problem with the iPhone 5. I went to the store in my area and asked them about it. They said I needed to be away from any metal objects. Then asked when I noticed it. I replied while at work, The genius asked if there was anywhere I could stand that wasn't near any metal. I said, not safely.... he gave me a puzzled look, then I told him I work on Tankers at sea.
Fortunately I don't have to depend on the iPhone compass. But it would be nice if it were a working feature and not just a cheesy gimmick.

  • MFC - is there any way, to make the MFC work on Mac OS X

    Hello,
I'm new to programming on Mac OS X. And I just want to know, if there is a way to compile the MFC (M$ Foundation Classes) for OS X?
Or is there any other possibility to use them?
I searched in different Forums, asked Mr Google, but didn't find a good answer.
    Well, I didn't find a positive answer...
Maybe someone here, has any idea about it or a hint, that can help. A simple NO is not enough...
    THX tobschwe

Well, the last time I looked, the underlying MFC concepts aren't totally foreign to OS X. You could probably (with SUBSTANTIAL effort) write a package that presents the MFC API, but implements it in Cocoa. But that's what you'd have to do, because Cocoa has none of the underlying library functions used by MFC's Windows implementation, and the Cocoa implementations of the underlying concepts and the relationships between them vary in subtle ways from the Windows implementations.
Which is why wise men simply say "NO".

  • Is there any way to make the text in ios 7 easier on the eye?

My Mom and CoWorker (they are both 50+) both did the upgrade to ios 7 and new coloring and font has been extremely hard on their eyes. Is there anything that can be done to help alleviate it? Their biggest complaint is that it's "TOO white". And just changing the background isn't going to help because there is the same problem in the new Calendar.

I am trying to make the calendar readable also.  I am soooo disappointed because making the text bold or bigger and changing the contrast does not affect the calendar.  I will not change my mac until this problem is solved!

  • Microsoft EXEL and Word users, is there any way to make the program fill

the whole screen? Like in Windows? i really dont like all these menus flying everywhere...
    any thoughts?
    thanx!!

    You can try using this.
It doesn't keep the menus from "flying everywhere" (that's just the way things work on the Mac; actually, some Linux environments too), but at least it makes it possible to maximize the apps to full screen.

  • Is there any way to make the Comments list appear somewhere other than below the active PDF?

It would be great if there was some way the Comments list when participating in a PDF Review could be moved to the right side of the PDF or in a movable window of its own. With a dual monitor setup this arrangement would allow better use of the screen real estate. This might also be useful for those who want all of the comments to be able to be printed from one file without the annoying break between each page.

Yes it is possible, just click & hold on the comments icon (two yellow speech bubbles) and drag in off the bar.
