Hi everyone...hoping someone can help me!
I have an older Macbook (I think 2008?) and I have Snow Leopard 6.8 but now the iTunes store is saying I cannot download Mountain Lion because my computer doesn't support it. I recently got a new iPod (the newest iPod touch) and would like to use it to actually listen to music as opposed to just using it for apps and Skype! Is there any way to get around this issue?

Yes. Sign in to the iTunes Store with the same Apple ID you used to buy the music in settings on the phone.
Then tap on "purchased" in the iTunes app on the phone and download the music to your new iPhone.

The music sync is one way - computer to ipod. The exception is itunes purchases. File>Transfer Purchases

The prgram is in one location and the library (media + library files) are in another. Sending it all to the trash would take some pretty delibrate multiple actions and digging through multiple folders, so I don't know how this was managed unless there's something in Snow Leopard that's new. Occasionally I have moved a file to the trash in Finder that I didn't want to and I can use Finder's "undo" to undo the last move. With many files...?

A couple of months ago, my Apple ID was hacked. I had to get a new one because whoever hacked it changed the password and the email and it didn't even show up in Apple's database when I called them. My problem is that I have A LOT of songs that I bought with my old ID. If anything happens to my computer, I dont want to lose all of them. Ok, my problem is that I have not got any trace of music on my computer and my music is on my ipod Classic. It is an 80GB one. I want to know if you can still put new music on it without deleting what is already on it. Or, if there is a way to get the music off it and into the computer. Copy from iPod to PC
It is important not to allow your iPod to sync with an empty library. If it is set to synchronise automatically you will get a message saying your iPod is linked to a different library and asking if you want to sync – it is important to press cancel as syncing with an empty library erases all music from your iPod.
You can also prevent auto sync by holding down shift & ctrl as you plug in your iPod and keeping the keys held down until the iPod appears in iTunes.
Once you are connected, you need to set your iPod to manage music manually.

No. Ignore the above post as it is completely wrong, & the poster has no idea what he/she is talking about. By design, an iPhone will sync or manually manage iTunes content with ONE computer at a time. Any attempt to do so with a second computer will result in ALL iTunes content being first erased from your phone, to be replaced with the content from the second computer.

I bought an iPod Touch about three years ago now - used to have all my music on it for the bus rides to college etc.
A year and a half later, I bought an iPhone, so I forgot all about the iPod Touch.
