Is there any way to recover data from a cleared soft partition?

Is there any way to recover data from a cleared soft partition? <eom>

You could try using 'metarecover'. I don't know if that works after a metaclear, but it's the only think that I could think to try.
I think you could brute-force search for UFS filesystems within the underlying storage, but that's pretty tedious.

  • Is there any way to recover data from bad ipod hard drive?

My 60GB iPod photo shows a sad iPod icon, will not connect to iTunes and will not charge. I have recently replaced the battery and it was working for a day, but now I keep getting the sad iPod icon. If I take the hard drive out and connect it with a USB2.0 mini enclosure to my computer, can I recover the data on it?

    Depends... See Corrupt iPod classic.

My iphone 4 is dead with water damage. Is there a way to recover data from the dead phone. Could any one help where exectly the memory chip (not RAM) resides in the phone. Is it on the motherboard or a seperate component in the phone?

The iPhone's internal components are soldered together. There is no way to recover data from your phone if it refuses to power up.

  • HT4910 i accidently deleted a note from my iphone 5 is there any way to recover it from an icloud backup?

I accidently deleted a note from my iphone 5 is there any way to recover it from icloud?

You have to start by erasing the phone so if there's any newer data on it that is not contained in your last backup, you'll need to save that first.  Then go to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, go through the setup screens on the phone and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup.  Then sign into your iCloud account and choose your backup to restore from.
Be sure you phone is connected to wifi and your charger as this may take a while to finish.

Your music will only be where you put it.
Did you copy all of your music from your backup copy of your old computer to your new one?

  • Is there any way to export data from a calendar 5 instance to 6.3?

I've run into yet another issue with my migration from calendar 5 to 6.3.
It turns out that one of our satellite clinics has a very large amount of data stored on our older server. Right now we're having to put the migration on hold because there are several hundred events on the old server that are repeat events and/or events scheduled relatively far in the future. This issue, along with the possibility of double booking events/appointments while both servers are active, is a serious risk that could have detrimental effects on this site.
There are a few issues that I'm not certain how to handle in this case. First of all, the old server's database is stored in schema 1, and changes in the LDAP directory structure from cal 5 vs. 6.3 made it impossible to migrate the old database and accounts. The new server is schema 2. So migrating the whole directory, especially at this point, seems rather unlikely.
Is there any way that I can export data for specific accounts and calendars for the people at this site in a version-independent format and import it to the new server? If nothing else we can schedule somebody to come in on one of the weekends and manually copy the data, but if possible I'd like to avoid devoting somebody to that for the several hours that it would take to copy that by hand. Also, this would not be the preferred method due to the fact that human error could result in our clients being misscheduled, which would obviously be bad for business.
I'd appreciate any ideas anybody may have on this matter.
    Thanks in advance.

Actually I guess I was missing the obvious method of simply exporting to xml and importing on the new calendar. For some reason I thought that the exports were incompatible between versions as well.Hmm... whilst this may have worked on the face-of-it I do wonder whether everything has indeed been moved across and more importantly translated into the correct form e.g. access controls, uids => uids@domain format.
Is there anybody that can answer definitively whether or not any data will be lost by this procedure? There are simply too many variables involved in your proposed migration to provide any kind of 100% iron-clad guarantees. I would suggest you perform a thorough test migration of the data and then compare the ics/xml export from the ics5/6 systems to see if any of the data has changed. Also test to see whether access controls are still working (can a user who could previously edit another persons calendar on ics5 now do so with ics6).
Things to look out for are that meeting attendee information is kept, any 'fancy' characters (i.e. 8-bit characters) and formatting information is kept, the number of tasks/meetings is consistent between the two versions and so forth.

  • Is there any way to retrieve Data from permanently crashed Palm?

I have a treo 755p that seemed to die on me. I can't get it past the "Access" opening page when I power on.  The phone gave me a message about memory shortfall after a phone call and that was it.  My service provider -Telus- no longer handles Palm and so they quickly told me that it was toast... but I'm suspicious...  They want to get me into a Blackberry.
I have discovered that everthing was backed up except for my Versamail and I had some important emails stored there.  Is there some way that this information can be accessed in any way?  Is there something I can try to do?  The person at the store tried to reset the phone but that apparently did not work.
So... two parts to the the question: Can somebody tell me what steps I can do to save my Treo and if it is dead... is there any way to access the phone's hard drive?

Hello and thank you for using the Palm Help Forums!
I am sorry to hear about the problem you are having. Unfortunately, the device does need to be fully booted to access the memory and sync it. If it is not able to boot, there is no supported way of getting your data off of that unit. A hard reset may resolve the boot issue you are having but the data would be lost. However, you can try a hard reset and answer "No" to erasing your data to see if it will fully boot. I will epxlain this process in further detail.
To hard reset the device you will want to remove the battery. Before placing the battery back in the device, hold down the red (end call) button. While holding down that button reinsert the battery. Continue holding the red button until the loading bar at the bottom completes. You will then be prompted with a message "Erase All Data Yes or No." You will then press DOWN on the 5 way navigator to respond "No" to this prompt. If the device still gets stuck and will not boot then you must answer "Yes" to resolve the issue. NOTE: BY ANSWERING YES WILL ERASE ALL DATA CURRENTLY STORED ON THE DEVICE.
I hope this helps in resolving the issue you are having. Future advice: Hotsync your device to a computer regularly to keep a back up of your data just incase if these problems occur.

  • Is there any way to recover google searches after clearing form data?

    No there isn't.
Why are you still using that old 1.5.0.12 version of Firefox? That's like almost 4 years old and is missing many security updates.

  • Is there any way to recover files from the guest account on a Mac, after the machine has been logged out?

I had uploaded some photos onto iPhoto on the guest account for my visitors, intending to burn them on departure.
I updated my Mac with a system software update, which required reboot so I of course types in the admin username/password to do so.
I received no warning message "caution: all temporary files in guest account will be deleted if you logout" as if you logout directly from the guest account, so I had forgotten about the guest account wipe.
Just today I switched to the guest user, and was dismayed to find the files gone.
Surely there must be some way to recover these files? Can anyone help?!
    Thanks
    Alan

They possibly still exist on the hard drive if you haven't overwritten that space already.
Your only hope is to try a file recovery program like Data Rescue 3 or some sort like that.
(note: the product linked to is an example of the suggested kind of software that may help you; it is not in any way my recommendation or endorsement of the product. I haven't used this product and can't comment on its effectiveness).

  • Is there any way to recover pictures from my new iPhone?

I had gotten an iphone 5 for christmas and since then had been using it regularly and everything was going perfectly fine. The only thing I was dumb enough not to do was plug it into my computer to get it all set up on itunes and such. So yesterday I finally decided to do that, and I made the stupid mistake of not regestering it as a new iphone and instead hit the restore from old phone back up thinking that it would just update my apps or the notes that I was missing from my old phone. So all the pictures from my phone before the restore are completely gone, and after trying a bunch of different things I just resorted to set it to factory settings and start new. But now one thing that is strange is that my photos were (supposively) saving to the photo stream, so from before the first restore I was able to find about 70 of the 400 pictures I am currently missing, but what I find weird is that the stream only has the first 50 photos that I took and then the last 24 that I had taken since the beginning of last week. So I guess my question is if there is a way to restore pictures from your photostream or access it's data at all? I don't know what else to do to get my photos back.
    thanks in advance.

How long has it been since you setup the iPhone again and entered your iCloud information? You might just have to give it a little more time to finish adding the other Photo Stream photos.
Try checking the Photo Stream on your PC or Mac.
    iCloud: Photo Stream FAQ
On your Mac, they appear in the Photo Stream view in iPhoto or Aperture. In iPhoto 9.4 or later or in Aperture 3.4 or later, open the My Photo Stream album in the Photo Stream view.
On a PC using Windows 8, from the Start screen, select Photo Stream. On a PC using Windows 7 or VIsta, click the Windows Start button, and then Pictures. Click Photo Stream under the Favorites menu in the panel on the left. Double-click My Photo Stream to view your photos.

  • Is there any way to recover photos from the iPhone, which is in the       recovery mode? Maybe take it apart?

My iPhone is in recovery mode. Is there nay chance to get photos from it?

I know this is an old post but in case anyone reading this is in the same position as I was today, I was most grateful to read the existence of FonePaw that enabled me to rescue over 1,000 photos when my iphone 5 went into recovery mode during a failed upgrade:
    http://www.fonepaw.com/mac-iphone-data-recovery/installation.html
It worked perfectly and my iphone is now backing up to my Mac as I'm writing this post.
I may receive some form of compensation, financial or otherwise, from my recommendation or link.

  • Is there any way to get data from my drown i phone?

MY frind iphone dip in water, she try to fix it or at least get the data from it( photo , aplications, contacts,...atc) but no body can do it ?
I am shore that thaier is some way to get back the data , but i dont now how .

Because an iPhone's hard drive is nonremovable, you need to be able to turn on the iPhone in order to access its data. However, iCloud automatically backs up your iPhone's photos, applications, contacts, etc..., so after you get a new iPhone, the first time setup menu will give you the option to restore it from your friend's old iPhone's backup.

  • Is there any way to migrate data from my Leopard 10.5.8 mac mini to my new Lion mini?

Just got the new Mac Mini that has Lion pre-installed.  I want to migrate my data from my previous mac mini that has 10.5.8 installed.  What's the trick to do it?  Migration Assistant on my Lion mini is telling me to update the assistant on my old computer but it's already up to date!

That may work, if the file permissions will allow it.  And it will work for "simple" applications, but not "complex" ones, that came with their own installers. See Transferring  Applications.   Complex apps must be transferred via Setup Assistant or Migration Assistant, or reinstalled from the original discs or downloads.

  • Is there a way to recover data from accidental "empty trash"?

I accidentally deleted 111GB of data, my entire Movies folder, off my Macbook running 10.4.11 and imovie 6.03 and emptied the trash. I have been to the Apple Store but they basically sold me Data Rescue II which does not return a completed iMovie but rather a fragmented collection of quicktime bits of the movie. It's easier for me to re-do every movie I've ever made than try to piece together a bunch of QT clips. Norton's used to recover files fairly intact but I understand it can't be used on Intel Macs. My first question is why not? Has anyone tried using Norton's V5.0 on an intel and if so what happened? My second ? is does anyone know of a reliable method (other than the $500-$3k services out there) to undelete files. My research suggests once files are gone, they're gone but I'm still holding out in an attempt to resurrect at least the last month of work. Thank you.

Not only not on Intel Macs but on pretty much any Mac running OSX. People had pretty bad experiences running Norton in the early days of OSX and Norton gave up supporting Macs. Any version of Norton out there pre-dates Intel Macs and you never want to run any disk tool on a computer when that tool pre-dates the release of OS you are using.
There's also [FileSalvage|http://subrosasoft.com/OSXSoftware/index.php?mainpage=product_info&productsid=1] but I don't know if it will do anything different from DRII.
