Is there any way to recover my itunes library from a damaged iPod Touch?

Your itunes library should be on your computer and should be included in your regular backup copy of your computer.

  • Is there any way to recover the iTunes Library file from the iPod Touch to preserve metadata like Date Added?

    Topic.
I used software (SharePod) to retrieve music from my iPod Touch after my original harddrive failed, but the program does not retrieve the iTunes Library file needed to import the metadata into iTunes (though it shows in the program itself). The music backed up with no issue, but I don't have what I need to preserve things like Date Added, Play Count, etc. Any solution if I have only the physical iPod Touch?

Yo may be able to extract some info from the backup of the iPod:

  • Is there any way to recover lost iTune I purchased from the itunes store?

Is there any way to recover my iTunes Library without re-purchasing all the songs-library was lost in PC problems.

Go to the iTunes Store, log into your account, and click the Purchases link under the Quick Links. From there you should be able to re-download some or all of your purchased content. Note that not all content has been licensed for re-downloading in all countries at this time; you can see what content you can download here:

You can also re-download content using an iOS device.

Forum Tip: Since you're new here, you've probably not discovered the Search feature available on every Communities page, but next time, it might save you time (and everyone else from having to answer the same question multiple times) if you search a couple of ways for a topic, both in the relevant forums and in the Apple Knowledge Base, before you post a question.

  • Is there any way to transfer an entire library from an ipod to a new laptop (not just the purchases)?

My laptop was stolen that had my itunes installed and was synced with my ipod classic. I now have a new laptop. Is there any way I can transfer ALL the music from my ipod to itunes on the new laptop, not just the purchases? I don't have access to all the CD's etc that I originally downloaded onto my ipod.

  • Is there any way to hide my iTunes library on my MacBook Pro so no one can see my music library?

I need to take my MacBook Pro to school, but I do not want anyone to see my iTunes library on it. Is there any way to log out, or even hide iTunes, so no once can see my music?

Perhaps if you describe what you're going to be doing in more detail we can offer other solutions. But, really, beyond not using iTunes where people can see it or not letting others use your MBP there isn't really a way to "hide" the content in iTunes.

  • Is there any way to get my photos and videos off a ipod touch 5th gen that went through the was and does not work anymore?

My ipod touch 5th gen went through the wash the other day while it was on and it came out not working at all. I was wondering if there was a way to get any of my photos and videos off of it so i could put them on my computer. Anything will do, from do it yourself methods to companies that will do it for you.

    - If they are in an iPod backup then restore another iPod, iPad or iPhone from that backup. See the restore topic of:
    iOS: How to back up
    - If they are in the iTunes backup then get them from the backup by:
Recover iPhone, iPad or iPod photos from backups with Picturescue
    - If you used PhotoStream then try getting photos (only) from your PhotoStream. See that topic of:
iOS: Importing personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer
    - A data recovery company can likely get them off the iPod. Be prepared to pay alot. Google for iPhone data recovery

  • Is there any way I can change the computer of which my iPod Touch was originally associated with?

My computer has recently decided to reject my iPod Touch completely from it's system, it has also deleted all the data from my iTunes library. It claims that my iPod has been synced with another computer and states that they can only be associated with a single computer. I was wondering whether there was any way of which I can change the computer of which my iPod Touch was originally associated with? Is it possible? Your help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Your Device will only Sync to One iTunes at a time...

  • Is there any way to upload iOS 5 on my 2nd gen iPod Touch?

I purchased a 2nd generation iPod Touch, in January 2010, and at the time, this was the most current version available. It is the iPod touch, before the last one to not include a Camera (3rd Gen). I would really like the new features, and would especially like to upload iCloud to it (I have Lion on my computer). I am not in any mood to purchase a new iPod touch soon. I am happy with the old one, but would love the upgrade.
Apple, can you please design iOS 5 for the iPod touch 2 gen? It would be helpful to many iPod users, and there will be more than one happy face (mine) if you do it.
Whenever I sync my iPod touch with my computer, it keeps saying my software is up-to-date. I have the version 4.2.1, and apparently it is up to date. Wish it weren't!

You aren't addressing Apple here.   Send feedback to http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipodtouch.html
But since your iPod Touch doesn't have the required hardware to support iOS 5, it will never be made available for it.

  • Is there any way you can share itunes library anymore??

like with others in itunes 4?? or any other 3rd party app?

Yes iTunes Music Sharing still works. Make sure iTunes->Preferences->Sharing is set to look for shared music and that the approrpiate playlists or entire library is set to share.
Are you ahving problems with this feature?

  • TS2972 my old computer crashed, i have lost my ipod... is there any way to get my itunes library back?

Help!!! My old TOshiba laptop crashed.  2 experts have said it is unsalvageable, even the data... something about the plates are scratched up.  now i have a new hp laptop, but it won't be as easy as transferring via the ipod.. because i lost the ipod...  Please help me get my investment back!

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
If for some reason you have failed to do this. not good, then you can redownload some itunes purchases in some countries:

  • Is there any way to recover my "quick collection" from a corrupt catalog?

Lightroom will not repair the catalog. Message, "cannot read or write to the drive"?????

Maybe the drive is read-only or write-protected? Maybe the folder that contains the catalog file is read-only or write-protected? Maybe you don't have permissions to write in the folder that contains your catalog?
And if those fail, you should restore your catalog file from a recent backup.

  • Is there another way to copy my iTunes library from a windows pc to my mac than using migration assistant

when i use migration assistant to transfer my iTunes music it creates a new and separate user account which is annoying but even worse when i attempt to play songs iTunes states that it can't locate file???

See this -> Move your content to a new Mac - Apple Support
"If two user accounts have the same name
If your new Mac already has a user account with the same name as one you're trying to transfer, Migration Assistant lets you decide what to do. You can either replace the existing user on your new Mac, or give the user you're migrating a new account name.
Selecting the option to replace an existing user overwrites that user's Home folder on your new Mac. This can be convenient if you just set up your new Mac using the same account name and of your important data is still on your original Mac. Don't select the option to replace the existing user unless you're certain you don't have any important files stored in this user's Home folder on your new Mac."
I create an new account named Admin, then log into this account to run Migration Assistant.

  • Is there a way to play my iTunes library from home, at work?

    Wondering if this is possible...

Not the files sitting on the computer at home unless you know so much about computers you wouldn't even be asking this.  Home Sharing only does as it says, shares between devices at home.
You might want to check the Match service.  This keeps a copy of your iTunes collection on an Apple computer so you can have access to the copy anywhere you can get on the Internet.
